    I think you should have mentioned the stick lie also, I think it's quite important. If I am not mistaken P29 = lie 6, P28 = lie 5 ( CCM sticks) P90TM dunno. I thinks that''s all we can get here in Europe in retail.

    Good video fellas. Just started messing with my curves. Gonna try a heel curve instead of my toe curves.

    The p28 was literally created for quicker shots. It’s the most “shooter” focused curve here lol. If you want a curve just to lift it quick around the net, dust off a p91 and hit the rafters from the crease

    Awesome video. In future it would be nice to hear Tommy break down more than how the shots feel. Maybe stick handling, saucer pass and backhand shots would be good things to mention when reviewing curves. Love the content! Keep it up.

    It’s all personal preference. I always used a Modano style blade and just started playing again for the first time since 2010 or so and the curves these days are crazy. All my shots with these open blades just go right over the net even from the far blue line, but I bought some Modano Blade styles and started hitting the sweet spots again. I’m just so use to being the one to force the pucks up not the curve.

    P90-TM is such a great curve in terms of handling the puck and still having that toe to bring pucks in for a quick snapshot. I work at our local hockey shop and I've been preaching P90-TM to a lot of people using P28 and P29 and I've converted a lot of people over 😂

  • @hazelnut49

  • @andersborum9267
    @andersborum9267 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Unless I'm mistaken, this video completely misses the point of P90TM .. which is that it's specced very close to the max height allowed for sticks, meaning that it's noticable better for deflections and picking passes; thus, it's a great option for defensive players. Why isn't Chris or Tommy aware of this?
    CCM’s response to the max blade height is the new curve called the Tavares P90TM, which is a fusion between the toe on the P28 and the rest of the blade of the P29 while flattening the bottom and changing the lie. While it isn’t a max height, it is taller than any other CCM blade offering.

    • @HockeyTutorialOfficial
      @HockeyTutorialOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Totally hear you Anders. Regardless of what the manufacturers advertise, we aren’t trying to repeat what they say. We aim to share what WE feel on the ice. You can’t feel a significant difference between these blades regarding height. If it was max height, totally different scenario.
      Tommy’s feedback was “I mean its all well and good a stick being good for that. But if you’re not good at picking passes or deflecting, then the blade having a little extra height means nothing 🤷🏻”

    In my opinion, the differences between p88, p29 and p28, never used a p90tm, is small. Between those 3, I think stick feel, flex and lie are more important than curve. In my personal experience, the P28 is the easiest to lift the puck and toe drag, the P88 is easier for stick handling, passing and especially backhand passing but snapshots are more difficult to get right. The P29 is somewhere in between. I would recommend a P28 to beginners, an experienced player can make all three of them work, which is good, because not all curves might be available where you live.
