For me the p28 is a very good curve for a sniper but not so much for a playmaker or a guy that mooves the puck alot so for me I prefer the p92 but im sure anyone could get the hang of the p28 for playmaking with time and practice
Try a 70 flex. I’m 5’5/5’6 and like the feel of a senior stick more. I just feel a little more confident and comfortable with it. I switched to use a P28 from a P92. I tend to find myself close in front of the net most of the time and find the P28 perfect for those situations. P92 is a bit better for passing because like you said, it’s the best of both worlds. If you’re using Ccm and want a different feel, try the p90tm. It’s right between a p92 and a p28 but can only be purchased with a ccm stick.
That’s nice I’m the same height as you but I use a 55 flex IM stick. I think weight is an important factor. I weigh 134. If I was 140-150 I would try harder sticks.
@@Rglezy personally I’m too afraid that a lower flex stick would snap with the amount of abuse I get during a game. Usually I go with a 70-75 and it seems to be about perfect
I’m 5’9 115 pds but I use a 55 flex ag5nt and it’s hella stiff so I want to go to a 50 or something, only problem is it turns junior and it’s too short
It’s crazy that every manufacturer has nearly discontinued any curve that’s not a P28, P90TM or P92 or similar variant. I never had a problem stick handling or going bar down with the nearly straight PM9, forehand or backhand. And passing was crisp too! Not every player wants banana on the end of their stick
Simple: P28: Toe drags, tor shots up close to lift up over the goalies pads. Mid to long range snaps/slaps will sail high. P92: Less effective for toe drags, lower trajectory for snaps/slaps. Can still lift over goalie within 10 feet. P88: Least effective for toe drags, best for low trajectory slaps. The problem in today's world of hockey is that every young kid in youth hockey wants the P28 because it's what McDavid uses. The problem is that these young kids can't play hockey with this curve because that can't control the shot. The shots sail high all the time. Yes they can toe drag but then they lose control of the shot. My son used the 29, 92, 28. He had a hard time with his snaps and slaps. He has been using the 88, clappers are lower and on the net. Using a medium curve for younger players is better as they evolve their skills. Once they are 18 or older should they then start modifying there curves.
Very well said! Totally agree. Giving a 5 year old a p28 will teach them that their shots will lift for them. Give them a p88, they will generate the power needed to life shots on a tougher curve.
i have had p28 bascall my whole life and i can assure you that it sucks for shooting further than the hashmarks but i can get easy bardowns with it if i am closer. After all, it is named the McDavid
in my opinion i think p28 is better because i like having that extra curve on the stick for toe drags and other what not but the shots do come off the toe with alot more pop but they do come up on you alot and their not the best for slap shots but this is just my opinion
It’s honestly all just personal preferences and shooting style from flex to curve. I literally own a dozen plus curves and I prefer snapshots and slapshots so a lighter more straight curve is best for that. But if you want to rip some wristers from center ice a nice open curve works great. For slapshots a higher flex adds more power, and for quick shots use a light flex, and for all around an 75-85 works great. This is just my personal preferences and opinions. In no way will I buy $200-400 sticks. All my newer 1 pieces I bought from offer up or play it again for $20-50 per stick, but prefer old 2 pieces because I’d rather replace a $5-15 blade instead of breaking a $200-400 stick.

It's a good day when trew crew uploads

I'm 5'6 and found the biggest factor between INT and SENIOR is the shaft is smaller with INT if you've got smaller hands like I do
bauer makes p90tm with custom sticks so if your looking for a top end stick bauer but you want p90tm you have to get it custom

I used both but as a defenseman I like the P92
in my opinion i think p28 is better because i like having that extra curve on the stick for toe drags and other what not but the shots do come off the toe with alot more pop but they do come up on you alot and their not the best for slap shots but this is just my opinion
I wish they made a non pro curve that is a p92 with the toecurve of p28 without it bein that open. it exists, but only as a "pro" curve...
