Could you sleep on a wall like Alex and Hazel?
@natgeo I'm looking for a DVD copy of the 4 part TV series Aftermath (2010), specifically the World Without Oil episode. Could you please help me out? Or is this available to legally stream anywhere?
NOOOOOO
H*llllll nooo.
bolted to the wall
I'd like to give it a try
"Our goal is to get as high as possible, and then camp." I never knew me and Alex had so much in common!
😂
Best comment I've read in a while
😮💨
Yeah I love camping really high up. Highest I've ever had to sleep (although it was not in a tent) was at 18600 ft on Mount Denali after we got caught in an unexpected storm on our descent from the summit, so we had to bivouac in -30 degree weather with strong winds with only a sleeping bag and no form of shelter (although our bags were rated for -70 degrees so we were warm enough)
that made me laugh way to much haha
Climbing walls without gear but a boat ride with a life vest 😅😂
Yes ironic 'Eh ? ~ But you have to consider the 'blame game'. That boat had an operator that is responsible for 'all souls aboard' If one of the climbers crater from a fall while climbing, only the climber themselves is responsible :)
You don't want to fall into water that cold without a flotation device.
Amazing what people are able to physically and mentally achieve. Kudos also to the supporting team what we mostly not see in such documentaries. Breathtaking scenery also. Beautiful world we live in.
😊
What a stunning landscape and amazing geology.
Alex Honnold, 1:05 "OH MY GOD WE'RE CLIMBING" lmaooo
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Alex Honnold, you're a LEGEND amongst the legends. Your "Free Solo" is the pinnacle of all climbing that will never be surpassed as climate change is changing the mountains which makes the old mountains even more unpredictable as we speak - for better or worse.
Right. Maybe he sold out
Crazy Views The Ice Behind When Climbing Gives Space Vibes
Great show, thoroughly enjoyable
Mad respect to Mikey for making his own call. This is a tough, mature decision to make after such a journey. Glad Alex and Hazel ultimately sent it but it was dicey. Amazing NG series to see.
After watching the full doc, I completely agree. It is probably why he has had such a long career climbing at a high level. Making challenging and unpopular decisions is an admirable skill. I do wish he was up there with them, however.
@@r.hudsonmadeo5745what happened?
@@sawyerrice3244 Mikey backed out of the climb because he felt it was too dangerous. He did this while being filmed by a National Geographic film crew and being pressured by one of the best climbers in the world.
It was a wall of loose blocks and choss that no one will repeat
Deff not worth getting hurt or killed for
Beautiful!
I'm so glad that Alex gave up free solo. I really like him. May he stay with us for a long time.
when has he said he gave up free solo?
@@TheHitchboy after his daughter was born
He hasn't he still solos a lot - last yearish Alex did a massive free solo linkup in red rocks he called the HURT. Look it up, it's mad. But also it's his choice and not something we have any right to judge him for
@@SpecoPleco well if someone is irresponsible and risks ruining his family then we do have the right to judge someone. The question is just whether it is irresponsible depending on someone's skill level and task at hand
@@roketynoramallorca2882 he didn't. He still solos a lot
Alex and Hazel are a very enjoyable adventure duo
If he rolls over its over
Nah. I've done this before too. We often will be secured by a rope. But also you'd know if you're there big of a roller
Stunning...Epic!
2:24 DONT just do something! Stand there!!!
Beautiful
haven't climbed in years.... still my sphincter clinches when watching this
when is this coming to the UK? I cannot wait :D
When is it available to watch in the UK (Disney+)
Gorgeous
What a great surprise, Hazel! Just magic all round, some wall! All the best............
You know that feeling of falling when falling asleep? I'm gonna freak out if I get it on the wall
0:32 Oh my gosh! 😲 He looks like a cranberry in a giant lake! 😱
3:31 You would not want to roll over on the wrong side of bed there.... 💀
Seeing Alex sleeping on that thin and uncomfortable sleeping pad makes me respect him that much more
A shame it's not available on Disney+ UK
"Very comfortable" my okole!
I wonder about the camera person. I know some shots are taken with a drone, but some are not.
can’t find this anywhere in canada nice one
Really? Google big wall climbing Baffin Island.
@@paulcampbell1476 i meant the tv show
why no strong wind ??
Where is the full
È come essere alle Cinque Terre. 😱👍🏔️
It's funny how the non climbing media obsess over height, when this wall was nothing for them, hardest move maybe 5.9? That's like walking for them basically.
Agree on the tech aspect, but I watched him interviewed on Climbing Gold about this route and he said it was pretty sketch just because of the rock quality and how cold his hands got. Technically not difficult but sounded miserable.
if you watch the series the wall was basically crumbling away as they were climbing, making it very dangerous
@@brennanz7328 Yes but all that is, is stupid. If that wall existed in the lower 48 real climbers wouldn't climb it because of the rockfall danger and easy moves, it wouldn't be a classic.
Wondering why they aren't tied in at that camp.
这电影只能中午看,因为早晚要出事
My dude's using a 15 year old Ridge Rest.
Amazing how many people pay for streaming services but don’t know about vpns…
That's insane why would you do that?
Super Dry
really only interesting when he free solo's
when they sleep do they secure themselves? one turn in the night and its over.
Do they tie themselves to the wall? How do they not roll off?
I guess they get used to sleeping very still haha
Have you ever fallen off your bed? Your body tends to wake you up before that kind of stuff happens.
@@williamlowry8809 my king size bed is not a cliff and yes, I have slipped off my bed on a rare occasion.
@@williamlowry8809 "Tends to" is not good enough lol. I don't trust my body that much
climbers do tie themselves to the wall when needed. this location isn’t that bad
I would much rather have land below me, just in case if I fell I would have a swift death. But some of these heights if Alex did fall, he'd probably survive hitting the water and freeze..
@natgeo Why can't I find this documentary on Disney+?
It seems to be only visible in the US.
what if you sleep walk at night?
Where is this?😮
Antarctica
@@HeavenFace 👍
@@HeavenFace opposite side of the globe. its in Greenland in the arctic region
please tell me they were tied to the wall while they slept.
I'll pass but beautiful.
This had me having several heart palpitations at once. Eheheneniehen shssnn sorry I was struggling to type as I take in deep breaths and shejdndhesnn
❤❤❤
Alex Honold climbs el cap free solo, despite he wears a lifejacket on a rib. 😅
Yeah and he looks both ways before crossing the street too, what is your point?
Hazel on the ground. Northerner.
Hazel on the wall. American
🙂
super humans
Nice rock
dont forget about the HUGE “carbon footprint” the production of this movie caused in order to tell everyone else to reduce our carbon footprint.

Marc-André Leclerc - Best Alpine Soloist Forever . Rest In Peace !
Alex still has a long way to go
Why do you need to compare?
Seriously, do they not have any concern of rolling in their sleep? I mean I sleep statue still, but I wouldnt trust that on one rare occassion I dont shift my hips just far enough... yikes!!!
We've trashed Everest so so lets trash the last pristine places.
Alex spends his time talking about environment André global warming... and he's in Groenland, that's logical.
Do you have a point?
