    Just got my 925 the other day. Waiting for my OAG and trying to find the .7 reducer. Looking forward to more videos on your new rig. Congrats.

      Very exciting! Sadly I'm waiting for the weather to improve but once we get some clear nights I can't wait to give everything a go!

    Nice, I have been waiting on the came scope for 6 months... August estimate so far. Going to put it on a ioptron cem70.
    Good target now is m101

      Nice! That's going to be an awesome combo, I'm mounting mine to the cem 60 and it works great so the 70 should be even better

    Looking for a long focal length scope to complement my redcat 51 and esprit 100. I think this might be it.

    Congrats! It's good to be a kid once in awhile. I hope you never lose it. I bought one of these used a few months ago. Buy some "Bob's Knobs"! Nice to know what actually came with it. : ) I was very disappointed by the quality of the Luminos eye pieces... seemed to have a lot of CA around the edges.

      I do have some bobs knobs but I'm waiting until I actually need to collimate it before considering to add them on. I've been told it's easy to use them but one will need to collimate more often with them installed. Been using luminos eyepeices for a good while now, I love them, haven't noticed and CA but then again I'm not one for visual.

    I have one of these sadly its in its case doing nothing.
    Edit: Consider yourself extremally lucky, I went though 2 scopes before they sent me one that was acceptable. First one was covered in what I would call metal shavings all over the mirror and corrector plate. The second actually had damage to the corrector. I'm not going to say who I purchased it from considering they took the time to get it right, took a bit to long actually. But all's well that ends well. I do mostly visual, but I bought it so I could have the option when I was ready to do astrophotography.. I have so many eyepieces, its just a trap most everyone go through in the hobby. But I must say one of my favorite eyepieces is the Explore Scientific 16mm, 24mm, and 34mm Eyepieces 68 Dec. I would be lying is I told you I did not love my Tele Vue 13mm Ethos. Expensive, but worth every penny. .

    You look like a child with a new toy! I'm happy for you. Is it difficult to collimate? How often should it be collimated? What other regular care do it need? I would greatly appreciate your feedback. Thanks

    • @wetcoastastrophotography5283
      @wetcoastastrophotography5283  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haven't had any need to collimate it at all yet but I have worked with similar models and as long as you use a camera it's pretty easy to do. For care I just have a bulb blower for dust and that's about it!

      @@wetcoastastrophotography5283 Hi! Could you help me with this question please? I want to buy an Edge 8HD but some tell me that the best are triplet refractors. I really don't know, I'm interested in the Edge 8HD because of its great focal length and price. The refractors I've seen that have a similar focal length to the Edge 8HD are way too expensive. They tell me I'd better buy a 600mm refcator over an Edge 8HD. Could you give me your comments please? I still have the idea of going for an Edge 8HD but I would like to hear the point of view of an owner of this class of telescopes. Thank you! Clear skies!

    • @wetcoastastrophotography5283
      @wetcoastastrophotography5283  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@elbagre71 hello! If it's your first telescope I would probably recommend a triplet. They're much easier to work with and tend to be optically faster most of the time. The edge systems are beautiful and a great addition to anyone's rig however the versitility of a solid 100ish mm (aperture) refractor along with its ease of use with the shorter focal length is hard to ignore

    I have a 9.25 on the way so i am interested in your mount, guiding, and espiceley the camera or should i say pixel size From FL 2350 to 500 do you need 3 different cameras. So more vidioes please

      Hello! You'll love the scope when you get it. I'm currently using an asi 1600mm pro camera and a zwo oag with an asi290 guide cam all on a cem60 mount. Works great for me, no issues finding guide stars so far :)

    I am familiar with our local Caltech (California Institute of Technology) for astrophysics, but what is the full name of UBIC? What mount do you suggest for astrophotography with the Celestron 9.25-inch Edge telescope? Do you think the Skywatcher EQ6-R Pro German equatorial mount with a weight capacity up to 44 pounds wound work for deep sky astrophotography with the 9.25 Edge telescope, camera and guide scope?

    • @wetcoastastrophotography5283
      @wetcoastastrophotography5283  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good questions! I go to UVIC which stands for university of Victoria! I do know people who use the EQ6-R pro with a 9.25 scope but it is pushing it when loaded with a camera and all the other accessories. I personally am really partial towards ioptron, they interface well with everything and are just a joy to use, the cem70 would be ideal in my mind

    Hi- what are the black knobs on the bottom of CGE dovetail plate (~8:56 of video)? thx

    • @wetcoastastrophotography5283
      @wetcoastastrophotography5283  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The knobs can be inserted to act as a last resort safety measure to keep the dovetail from sliding all the way out of whatever is holding it

      It comes as a big surprise but the planets are suuuuper tiny in the sky despite being so much closer to us than distant galaxies or nebulas.

  • @gojkoljumovic4432
    @gojkoljumovic4432 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’m confused. It says on their website that diagonal is 1.25

    • @wetcoastastrophotography5283
      @wetcoastastrophotography5283  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The diagonal can fit 1.25 or 2inch eyepieces

    • @gojkoljumovic4432
      @gojkoljumovic4432 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wetcoastastrophotography5283 I got that. I’m saying the diagonal itself is 2”, right? So why is there a 1.25” back visual that holds it? Can you mount the 2” diagonal straight to the telescope?

    • @wetcoastastrophotography5283
      @wetcoastastrophotography5283  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah I see the confusion, the visual back could be used for planetary imaging with cameras such as the zwo mini series, to connect the diagonal the 1.25 back has to be removed

  • @desbarry8414
    @desbarry8414 ปีที่แล้ว

    The edge series are a rip off. For what a minimal say 5% improvement on edge star sharpness? AND the price of the -7 reducer for this is almost a quarter the price of a standard C925. Save your money folks, get the standard version. Celestron should have included these modifications anyway but their Chinese owners are greedy. Most
    serious deep sky imagers use a nice triplet apo for deep sky.
