- Sonic '95 Scrambled Eggs is a fangame created by UsagiDood.
"This is an attempt to create an original story based on the Sonic 4 games, in a classic retro style. You will be able to play new levels, see new bad guys, neat sprites, new tiles, heavily reworked physics, new special moves, nice 16-bit soundtrack, pre-rendered cutscenes (absolutely thought the intro was on cleeeean 🔥) and much more!
For those questioning if this is the SAGE build, it's not. Recently about a month ago, an update was released known as Development Build (aka. DEV BUILD). Everything you see here is a complete Work In Progress. The menu is the default one from the framework that's being used, and the levels are somewhat empty mainly because they miss most of the gimmicks, 96% to be exact.
Can I just say this as a highlight. All the years of showcasing numerous fan games and I never thought I would ever see my own name on a credits roll, I feel so honoured, and it definitely means a lot to me. So Usagi, if you're watching this, big shoutout to you man, I felt like I just hyped myself up seeing this. 🔥🔥

This looks fantastic, it's cool that Sonic 4 is being revisited and remixed in some way with major additions of course.
Will admit that everything about this fan game was amazingly put together. The title, the cutscenes, the gameplay, and quality look excellent. I'm glad you reviewed this to us Jay, this could be the best fan game work I've ever seen 💎✌🏿

The sprite-work here's just great, I hope this gets finished one day. Its amusing and kind of clever that Omelette's in this just considering that she technically shouldn't exist. Not complaining though, I'd love to see more~

@@isabelortiz1230 Yep, these are 100% place holders! As a matter of fact, Tails isn't even in the game anymore... He's not relevant to the main plot. Might make him playable in time attack mode tho!

I would loved if this was the ACTUAL sonic 4 in 1995
I think one of Sega’s biggest mistakes in the Saturn time period was laying all their eggs in the 3D Sonic game basket. Obviously yes, Sonic X-treme failed to ever materialise, but personally even without that hindsight I think they should’ve been working on two projects, an experimental 3D Sonic, and a traditional 2D Sonic 4 with all the beauty the Saturn could muster in a 2D game. They could’ve distinguished themselves from Nintendo and Western Sony by embracing 2D gaming as much as they did 3D (I know the US/EU PlayStation still got a few 2D games but nowhere near what Japan got).
The entire history of the Saturn is that they designed an ultra beefy, Neo-Geo demolishing next generation 2D console… then at the last minute realised 3D games were going to be a big thing and bolted on 3D capabilities that were inferior to the PlayStation. They should have _embraced_ the cards they were dealt, unfortunately Western Sega was as wooed by the Siren call of 3D as Western Sony and didn’t think to embrace that the one thing 2D games had over 3D games was maturity and refinement of technique.

My ONE complaint, is that the islands in the background islands are moving when Sonic is standing still, meaning those islands are in fact, moving, or we are on the moving and or rotating island. Other than that this looks great!

@@cx8452 Then they are at the whims of tidal forces and waters that would be apocalyptic and the island you are on would be getting destroyed if the water was strong enough to be sliding those massive karts like that around. Coastal rock formations, much like islands, do not float, and are in fact attached to the planet.
@@RikiRaccoonIslands in the early Sonic games have mystical aspects. Angel Island floats in the sky, Isolated Island from Chaotix can appear and disappear, South Island moves across the ocean on its own. Maybe this island just rotates around like a turntable?
