Keep in mind, AT-AT stands for All Terrain Armored Transport. Just because it was introduced in Empire Strikes Back, on the planet Hoth, does not mean that other troops can't be used. The second time it was used was on Endor, then again on Scarif. Snow, jungle, and desert environments.
Scarif's walker types were AT-ACTs, according to the film - walkers specialized in cargo transport. A better example would be Jakku (Battlefront 2015 + Battlefront II 2017, The Force Awakens), which is considered a full desert environment.
There are also the AT-AT's on the coastline of Kashyyyk, in Fallen Order who look like they have been through the jungle, being covered in vines and dirt caked onto the walker. They are currently crossing the water in an amphibious assault. Though admittedly, those are a different (older) model than the one's seen on Hoth/the design book. They have a different, less cramped interior design, that fits far less troops and less speeders inside, only having a complement of 18 troops, and presumably 2 speeder bikes. Though this design does have a large cargo bay. They also feature a rear, top mounted hatch with an E-web blaster emplacement. This is presumably designed to defend from light areal craft attacks. Ironic that the Empire would remove this gun before it would be useful in the Battle of Hoth.

Imagine making a complete imperial attack on Hoth set. You would need about 3 UCS AT-AT’s, 36 Snowtrooper battle packs, and a few (let’s just say 2) AT-ST sets. So in the US, the AT-AT’s are $800, the battle packs are $20, and the AT-ST’s are $50. So the state with the lowest sales tax (0% avg.) is Alaska (there are 5 so I just picked one) and the state with the highest sales tax (9.55% avg.) is Louisiana. So if you get them all from one site, the overall price before tax will be $3,270 and that’ll also be the price in Alaska since there’s no sales tax but the price is Louisiana will be $3,582.29. So $3,270 - $3,582.29 will be your overall price range in the US depending on the state you live in.
And that’s before all the rebels if you want to add them. I’m sure those old hoth rebel battle packs go for a lot, and snowspeeders if you want them as well. Also, a few of those new-ish (like 2016/17 I think) sets with the turrets, newer hoth rebels, and Han Solo. At that point you just gotta hope Jeff bezos or Elon musk is into lego because they’re about the only ones who can afford it
There were 5 AT-ATs at the battle of Hoth, but the empire technically landed 12 and lost several on the way to the base due to collapsing ice and other weather conditions. Just thought that information would be interesting.
Buy 12, and your left of with 12 scouts getting the mid staging platform stuffy. I would go for 9. That way all the troopers of the battlepacks have a seat. It world save you $60. Now the only trooper without his seat is the commander, but seen in Empire he should be standing next to Veers inside the cockpit.
Next step: ucs Death Star with enough room to completely fill up everything(including the scene where the emperor comes and the entire hangar is filled with stormies)
I don’t think anyone is “forcing” it so much as they’re leaving the opportunity open. If anything I would rather have the minifigs out battling than cooped up inside the vehicle. I think a few characters in the middle open platform with the large turret is good enough
I hope they make other variants of the AT-AT, like imagine the one from Jedi: Fallen Order thats in the water and covered in dirt and moss. I’d love environmental variants, lots of opportunity to look sick, and come with special stormtroopers that fit that environment
You could buy 9 battle packs and put the both scout troopers in some seats to save a little bit of money. I am definitely going to get some battle packs. Great video!

I have built so many Lego sets and I'm building this AT-AT now and have noticed something strange. The plastic material is softer than it used to be. So will this give it a bit of flex when totally assembled stopping it from falling apart? 🤔. Not a complaint, just something I've noticed
4:45 Guy: "We can now nearly figure out exactly how many battlepacks we need" Snowtroopers in the back already cramped in the AT-AT: "Wait, you are gonna put more of us in here?!"
This is a cool idea to fill all those empty seats. In the highly unlikely event that I buy the UCS AT-AT, I'll probably add the Snowtroopers that I already own before purchasing more battle packs. That would probably cut the number of current battle packs needed from 12 to about 6-7. Yes, I realize that the earlier Snowtroopers won't look exactly the same but I don't care because I'll be saving some cash I can put towards another purchase.
That's what I was thinking too, I have 6 snowtroopers from earlier 2014 era sets, including another commander from the 2014 at-at, I would also include the scout troopers from the battle packs to cut the price down further
Looking forward to your video in the future where you combine all the random terrain pieces in those battle back into some Hoth terrain, put 1 or 2 regular AT-ATs and a few AT-STs and storm the imaginary power generator....General MandR you may start your attack now....
Planning to buy one of the big 3 this year, but am so torn between the AT-AT and the star destroyer, the troop carrying aspects definitely give a point to the walker
Personally, I like the Imperial Destroyer better as a vehicle, but I love scale. The AT-AT is, apparently, not to scale, but close enough. I'd get that one. Also, there's only one UCS AT-AT and 2 UCS Imperial Star Destroyers...
I own the big 3 but you should get the star destroyer first because it will retire at the end of 2022 but the other 2 at the end of 2023, when they retire there will be a fourth big boy on shelves im guessing
Not really into buying UCS sets. So I bought a snow trooper battle pack, Hoth ATST and the much cheaper ATAT. Just gotta build the ATAT. Happy with the overall package and pretty confident the three will look good together. This however does look awesome with the ATAT fully loaded
If you include the Scout troopers within the AT-AT as the potential drivers of the 4 snow speeders you might as well just fill it with 10 battle packs, that's that I'd do
Imagine how many clone troopers you could fit in a UCS Venator!! Maybe Ryan's entire 501st trooper batallion... (that is, if lego ever decided to make one)
There were experimental AT-AT’s in Star Wars legends used by the Clone Army in the Battle of Jabiim, though they didn’t work well since Jabiim was a rather muddy planet.
It is amazing that Lego has become the only company still making Star Wars merch for so many years... Others come and go but Lego struck gold with this franchise!

@@noahmaldonado5461 My bar would be lower: If it's Imperial, it's fair game for an AT-AT ride. :)
That's so cool!! And that AT-AT looks stunning!
Looking forward to your video in the future where you combine all the random terrain pieces in those battle back into some Hoth terrain, put 1 or 2 regular AT-ATs and a few AT-STs and storm the imaginary power generator....General MandR you may start your attack now....
Making the may the 4th hoth promo but minifig scale
LOL! "Don't even ask me how I figured that out" had me rolling
Planning to buy one of the big 3 this year, but am so torn between the AT-AT and the star destroyer, the troop carrying aspects definitely give a point to the walker
Star destroyer discontinues way sooner
Personally, I like the Imperial Destroyer better as a vehicle, but I love scale. The AT-AT is, apparently, not to scale, but close enough. I'd get that one. Also, there's only one UCS AT-AT and 2 UCS Imperial Star Destroyers...
I own the big 3 but you should get the star destroyer first because it will retire at the end of 2022 but the other 2 at the end of 2023, when they retire there will be a fourth big boy on shelves im guessing
I have all 3 personally, and the star destroyer is my favorite. Both imperial ones outshine the falcon imo.
Lego, counting your money: "business is booming boys
4:45 aren´t the snowtroopers already in the at-at behind u?
Lol, Ryan forgot to photoshop there!
Lies
with a 99 battle pack order limit you could completely fill out 8 at-ats and partially fill out one more
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Lego needs to make battle packs $15 again, as $20 is too much for what you get.
killed the title on this one🔥 this one gonna do numbers
Not really into buying UCS sets.
So I bought a snow trooper battle pack, Hoth ATST and the much cheaper ATAT.
Just gotta build the ATAT.
Happy with the overall package and pretty confident the three will look good together.
This however does look awesome with the ATAT fully loaded
Oh it’s beautiful I’ve been staring at this for 16 hours now
Time for a Hoth moc?
Need house. Spent all my money on Battle Packs though.
I had to spent that much to fill up something else 😏
Your fridge? With chocolate?
i have 2 atats filled. my wallet died for your sins
I would’ve spent $1100 to fill my UCS Gunship if a certain clone minifigure pack was not suddenly delayed in my region. *cough* *cough*
R.I.P
Filling the ucs Gunship makes no sense in that scale
"I don't see anybody buying 99 of these battle packs"
Solid Bricks studios: "Are you challenging me?"
If you include the Scout troopers within the AT-AT as the potential drivers of the 4 snow speeders you might as well just fill it with 10 battle packs, that's that I'd do
Is that... a battlepack with molded plasters?
Ahh, I'm gonna faint, it's too beautiful
Imagine how many clone troopers you could fit in a UCS Venator!! Maybe Ryan's entire 501st trooper batallion...
(that is, if lego ever decided to make one)
I'm just glad I kept a hold of the UCS Hoth set, goes great with the AT-AT.
you could use the spare speeders around it to help the scene you're displaying as you'd only carry four bikes, and maybe 6 riders.
There were experimental AT-AT’s in Star Wars legends used by the Clone Army in the Battle of Jabiim, though they didn’t work well since Jabiim was a rather muddy planet.
You facetimed Hot Rod himself, this is a crossover I love
they couldve made it like 900-1000 dollars with included troopers but i do get it that its a display piece
Just casually calls an NFL kicker to help you with math 😂
It is amazing that Lego has become the only company still making Star Wars merch for so many years... Others come and go but Lego struck gold with this franchise!
love the editing on this video
I remember seeing some random video that Rod was a huge LEGO fan and seeing you FaceTime him was absolutely amazing
Bruhhh imagine how hot this build would look with red led lights running through it
“It wasn’t cheating Mr. Johnson” that cracked me up
