You are absolutely correct about keeping the stress levels down. It effects the animal's performance and all the way to the time of butchering.

Exactly, and it's a lot less stressful for us when the cattle behave in a predictable manner. The whole system is just better for Grass fed beef.

Some of those cattle moving videos are so hard to watch because it causes the animals visible stress. It is a relief to see that things can be done differently and with much less stress for the animals ( and the humans too)

I admire the boy’s patience and not yelling or using a switch or shock.

I would like a video of how the portable corral operates. Thanks.

How many generations have your farms been handed down ? I’m enjoying your videos, following Greg Judy, hope to buy a bull in the future.

Oh we are still new. I started on 75 acres in 2010. Now we have above 500 acres including leases. Our son returned home a couple of years ago from Washington State, so now I guess we’re second generation 😊

What is the age and live weight of the cattle you take to the processor? Thanking you in advance for a reply.

We start processing at at least 24 months and depending on the individual animal it might be longer. Each week Jim goes into the herd and selects individuals. We use small framed animals with excellent grass genetics like South Polls that finish around 1,000 - 1,100 lbs
