For participating professionally no, but if they win, each competition has a prize of around $1-2k for first place, then around $1k for 2nd place, around $800 for 3rd, and it keeps going down til the 6th place. There are 100+ competitions per year so there are plenty of opportunities for them. Now, if they participate with a student (Pro/Am division), then the student has to pay them their competition fee and pay lessons ($100+ per hour) That's where they make the BIG money. So the professional competitions are a lead magnet for them to showcase themselves and get clients
