5th, 6th, and 9th alarms sound like fire alarms. The 5th one sounds like a Spectralert Classic horn. The 6th one sounds like a fire alarm that you would find in a factory. The 9th one is an Edwards Genesis horn, which is immediately recognizable.
Love this 🤣🤣 Is an alarm button in an elevator actually connected to the elevator company/emergency services, or do they just make a sound locally so people nearby know there's someone stuck and to get help?
In the US at least it’s just for the sound so people know it’s stuck. You’ll notice there’s a call button as well which is connected to elevator company/emergency services
I remeber accidentally pressing the alarm button instead of the close door button. Since then, I tap the alarm button as I'm stepping off the elevator every time
Love the 6th one, do you have the full video by any chance ? Now what do all these sounds make me think of (Warning long text below) : First there are 10 sounds in total. 1st one sounds like an old telephone to me. I could have heard some doorbells or even some wind-up alarm clocks sounding like that but I'm not really sure. 2nd is the same kind of buzzer that was installed in offices where there are turn o matic tickets. Whenever the next number is called a buzzer like that one sounds briefly. Now it's more often a boring high-pitched electronic beep or even a computer sound played on a speaker. I know from videos that some US fire alarm panels and annunciators do feature the same kind of buzzer. And this kind of buzzer could be purchased at stores like Radio Shack (Well, I mean the equivalent of in my country) back in the 2000s. 3rd is typical of some apartment building intercoms, this buzzing sound being heard inside of the apartment when a visitor rings. Funnily enough there are electric strikes that sound exactly like that when energized to open the entrance door or gate to a building. 4th alarm is just a boring beep to me. Nothing special about it, well it might sound a bit like some grocery store alarms but I'm not really sure. 5th one sounds like a US fire alarm to me (EST Genesis according to some, I would say SpectrAlert Classic too after having watched quite a few videos on that subject). 6th one, now one of the best of this short video, well I would describe it like some sort of "Epic and badass industrial buzzer". the kind of sound that would be there to warn people to keep clear of some heavy machinery that is about to start its operation, or even that a large automatic door to a big warehouse or other industrial hangar is about to move, see what I mean ? And in fact I think some freight elevators in your videos do indeed have that kind of buzzer for the doors. 7th one is a classic or "general-purpose" bell according to where I remember having heard it. In my country it might be a school bell or a bus bell (More likely to be found on small shuttles or tourist buses that everyone call "small trains" because they look like a steam train even though they are not). 8th one reminds me of some doorbells, apart from that I would say it's another general-purpose bell that can be found at many places just like the 7th one. 9th Another fire alarm, again it could be a SpectrAlert Classic to me, or in any case I think it's one of the most common fire alarm sounds in the US). And what about the last one ? Just like the 4th it's a boring and uninteresting beep except it's continuous instead of pulsed.

I’ve also seen some elevators that will sound the alarm when overloaded because of the alarm also being wired to the spring scale switch in the elevator that’s pressed when the elevator is overloaded! So overloading those elevators is also just like pressing the alarm button with the edition of a flashing overloaded light! :)
One time I pushed the alarm bell button by accident because I thought it was door open and I guess I wasn’t paying attention good enough to the button I was pushing and I was 11 that time
my high schools elevator has a really bad setup where the alarm button is right below the open button and when your holding the doors open for someone you would run the risk of pressing the alarm button instead of the door open button
I was afraid of accidentally bumping into the alarm and pressing it. I thought an alarm would sound, the elevator would halt, and the fire department would be called.
Funnily enough that is pretty much exactly what my mom told me when I was a little kid: If you press the alarm with no reason the elevator will become stuck. Of course that's not true, however I came across an old swing-door elevator many years ago that had its emergency phone located inside the car operating panel and to access it you had to undo a couple thumbscrews and open the small door, but there was actually a warning printed on it that said Opening this door to access the emergency phone will immediately stop the elevator and open the inner door. Of course I didn't try opening it but I think the phone would have been a regular handset. And I forgot to mention that it was all in France, a country where elevator emergency phones aren't to be found in a small closet like you have in the US but it's always (On newer elevators) the alarm button next to the floor buttons that activates the phone and you can see the speaker grill right on the car operating panel itself. A few older elevators may have both an alarm button that will only sound a siren when pressed and next to it a phone button which will activate the phone. I've only seen one elevator with this two-button configuration so far but according to TH-cam it appears to be quite common in the US. Finally, on the very old elevators that didn't have a phone back then you may find a standard wall mounted landline phone with sometimes even an actual keypad on the wall of the elevator, and although I never tried one of these I'm pretty sure it would be configured not to be able to call anyone but the proper emergency services with it.

Thank you. Kayla Knott. I might as well just hold the alarm to show off!
How to get people in the comments to waste $800 on dispatch costs for no reason:
Heard that some newer lifts in my country's public housing do wire up the alarm button to an intercom/dispatch
yeah, though you should watch out for the phone button, THAT ONE calls for help!
Some elevators are wired that way, so still be careful
apparently the alarm bell is used to signal that you’re stuck In the elevator, the call for help button actually calls dispatch.
