Thank you very much ❤ you've given more detailed information that's exactly what i needed ❤️ I'm so grateful for your video and effort ❤️
@misssagacious5007 thank you for your nice words, I appreciate it 🙏 😊 I am glad that it helped ✅️🍀
great job, very professional💖💖💖💖
Hi, great video! How would we see a racemic mixture in the polarimeter?
You should have extinction at two rotation angles. Probably the best way to have some more information about the mixture is to turn the polarimeter into a conoscope. That can be achieved by adding a quarter wave plane retarder either before or after the light enters the tube containing the sample and maintaining the zero position of the analyzer. Then you can analyze the so called Airy figure or pattern. If indeed you have a mixture, i.e. have two superposed Airy patterns specific for dextrogyre and levogyre solutes, than you can play by bringing each enantiomer to extinction and measure the rotation of the polarized light plane in two different positions. Conoscopy can save you even here by not having a lot of pain. That is you can separate each Airy contribution from each enantiomer.
Hello, can you get some readings from this experiment (the first and second angle) (the length of the tube used) (and the concentration of the solution)
Te mando un abrazo pa
maam do you have pdf for this experiment with proper aim, procedure tabulation, calculation etc
Pdf form of the "Practical Manual in Biochemistry" is available for students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Novi Sad
@@tatjanacebovic Wishes maam,
first of all thank you for replying to my message. So, basically Im a student from india...so i guess..i cant access the practical manual...so can you provide with any kind of link...or the direct link for the practical manual. I mean a free access.
@@117alanmathew8 thank you for your interest, free documents are available only for students with payed scholarships
@@tatjanacebovic Ok...cool👍👍
Why would you call that a polarimetric tube? That's a simple tube, best called sample holder or sample tube.
Calling it polarimetric tube you assign it with a property that it does not posses. All the polarimetry is done outside of that tube.
Thank you for your comment, @ciprianpopa1503. I have chosen to name it this way, and it is correct. If you would prefer to use another name from the list of available correct names, please do so. That is the least important issue here; understanding the principles is the key point of this video 👍🏻💡
It's called a polarimetric tube because it's specially made for a polarimeter so that it can get the best view of the polarizing of that sample. It has a lens and a sector to compensate for bubbles if we accidentally have any bubbles in it so that we won't have any difficulties in the view. I hope you understand now.
@@misssagacious5007 Holy crap. You are beyond thick. It's a damn tube with simple glass windows. The polarizers are outside of the tube, separated. It is not that I don't understand. It is you that have a rather non understanding what's all about there.
@@tatjanacebovic So it is your choice and you declare it correct. talking about your self righteousness ...
@ciprianpopa1503 I am not the one to declare anything right or wrong, nobody is. It is up to you which name you are gonna use, as long as your audience understand you 👍🏻 ✅️ Namaste 🙏🍀
