As a teenage black girl in the early 2000s who love rock music, Fefe was a breath of fresh air 🖤 2003- I love this song 🖤 2024- I still love this song 🖤 I still love you Fefe ❤
Righttt!!!!! Heard it on radio, they played it on our Retroactive Tuesdays, I'm stuck on replay after 18yrs still. June 12, 2021. This is a gem!!!!!!!🔥🔥🎶🎶
Fefe Dobson, Avril lavigne, Justin Timberlake, Trapt, Hoobastank, Weezer, Good Charlotte, Maroon 5, Dashboard Confessional = my life during middle school... The good old days... I still listening to them!!
I was so excited to see a black girl make punk rock music it was so exciting and refreshing I never thought it was possible 😭 I wish more brown girls would try different music and bring pink rock back I love all music tbh let's grow together y'all we can do it all 🎵 ✊🏾 🖤
omg I was not prepared to rewatch this video. I miss her music so much. I miss the early 2000s so much. I miss being a teenager so much. ;______________;
Right, but if we woke up tomorrow as a teenager we would immediately go back to wanting to grow up asap lol always want to be grown, until youre grown and then you want to be young again but if you were made young again youd want to grow up lol Grass always seems greener.
We were definitely care free. This song really give the feels of nostalgia. You can definitely go to the exact point when you remember this song being out.
What you mean? The fashion was the best. People didn't try too hard and had fun.. We didn't need to worry about having makeup on fleek or wear the most expensive brands...
FeFe has always been my girl. Her and Neneh Cherry, another one from that time period who laid low in the industry after blowing up, make my eyes happy. Chaka Khan in the Rufus era, too.
***** Well then Lester, you got good taste, bro. Neneh Cherry was cool as the ice in the fridge. Her brother made 1 ill song too. And... Chaka Khan Let me rock you Let me rock you Chaka Khan Let me rock you That's all I wanna do Chaka Khan Let me rock you Let me rock you Chaka Khan Let me rock you 'Cause I feel for you *Man, what an intro! Too cool*
Leandro D Creature Saw Rufus in Detroit my first year of school (1979). It was a nice introduction to Motown after a childhood in sunny Cali with the hippies and the freaks. Made a HUGE impression on my 19 year old self. Neneh's brother's track was Save Tonight-Eagle Eye Cherry. Neneh dropping those white draws in the Buddy X video and throwing them at the peanut gallery? *LAWD above! Yessss!* Makes me feel young again just thinking about it.
***** Neneh was hot...but she what? what Buddy X video? I wanna see that! It was all before my time bro but I've got an old soul, I like many things from different generations and time (not to say I don't like things from my generation tho). Yeah "Save Tonight" fucking rocks. Funnily enough, my sister introduced me to that song some time back in the early 00's when I was a kid, like 2001 I believe. Man, I can tell you've lived! That's what life is all about, man. Get money and enjoy yourself when you get it. I don't understand the people that make money and then act like it's not to be spent, especially after you've made investments, like when will you spend it then? When you're in your grave? lol I came off subject slightly ;)
Leandro D Creature Your money is only as stable as the money you can earn, I figure. I've never had the kind of money to invest and live off residuals, nor was I smart enough to figure that market out (My dad-in-law is and does a bit of that for me, now. Enough that my girl could start again if something unforeseen were to happen) but those markets can disappear, too, and then you're back to what you can earn. Ain't nothing wrong with burning bridges man, just don't make it an act of arson. Always be good enough to let someone know why business or personal relationships are ending. Burn your bridges but leave the footing intact, so you can rebuild at some point. Keep your teeth and gums healthy, don't have kids you can't afford and... well... beyond that I got nothing more than 53 years under my belt, so I guess most of that has done me well. EDIT: Maybe add *innocently lie about your age at any opportunity* to that list (My wife just gently reminded me that I turned 54 in December.).
one of the most underrated songs from the alternative pop era of the mid 2000s! this should have been so much bigger. it's so good, will always be a fav of mine. My top 5 favorite UNDERRATED alternative pop / pop rock songs from the mid 2000s: 1. Built this Way by Samantha Ronson 2. Everything by Fefe Dobson 3. Extraordinary by Liz Phair 4. Powerless by Nelly Furtado 5. In the Rough by Anna Nalick songs on this list were deemed underrated because they underperformed on the music charts
Met her when I was younger and got to go on stage. She’s so nice ❤. Felt good seeing someone that looks like me making punk music. Rare. Bring her back.
Unbelievable to me this song only peaked at 67 on top billboard and never peaked anywhere. This song is "Everything"🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶It's 18yrs later and I'm stuck on replay. Thank you zip103 for reminding me of this gem!!!!
It was nice to see a black girl singer who wasn't doing the typical R&B destinys child tlc type music. I think it was difficult for her to be accepted by the black community at that time.
Fefe Dobson and Lajon Witherspoon from Sevendust are 2 of my inspirations and role models they taught me that I can be African American and be a punk rocker and metal head 🎸🤟🏼🥁💯🔥
Fefe Dobson is everything to me! Love her music, she's the most beautiful singer I've ever seen. If I ever met her, I'd probably spaz lol, fan for life Fefe thanks for the great "homework help"
Watching one Tree Hill heard the song playing and Fefe Dobson popped into my head. How did I remember that I was a kid when this came out haven’t thought about her in forever but still thought of her memory is crazy.
the biggest issue is this generation didn't really get to experience the awesomeness of FeFe and because she's been kind of MIA in terms of crossover wise since the debut album, a lot of kids nowadays dont know who she is. Sad.
can I say how much i loved fefe dobson growing up! it's been years since listening to the 1st album and I still remember every lyric to get songd lol! she was truly a pop punk queen!
2003 THrowback... introduced to my 90s and 00's Gob / Sum 41 "pop punk" fans and metal head bandmates and said this is it. Y'all can have AVRIL. This one is mine..(not in the gatekeeping sense but in the I found her first sense) I still wake up humming FEFE tunes 20 years later. SO UNDER RATED!!!! And the only one from that era I still listen to.
Fefe Dobson is just gorgeous! Simply stunning! I hate that she and her music is so underrated, but atleast her fans will always be loyal to her and we can check out her video's thanks to TH-cam! I wish there were more artists like her who are original, authentic, down-to-earth, stay true to themselves and their craft, and most of all, who are REAL! Oh yeah, and I totally love the lip gloss she's wearing in this video! : )
As a white person myself, I never judged someone’s looks for any kind of music they might do. Music is universal, taste is universal, there shouldn’t have to be a reason to prove one’s worthiness to be accepted by people. What sounds good, I will listen to.
I was born in 1996, so I spent my days as a teenager in the late 2000s and the early 2010s. But I'm a big fan of 2000s pop rock, pop punk and alternative, so I love listening to Fefe Dobson, Avril Lavigne, Lillix and Skye Sweetnam.
"If your ready to be my everything...if your ready to see it through this time..and if youre ready for love this i will bring...." i love this song ...
2020, I still love this song. Underrated, but it was a BIG personal song for me when it came out. I was a HUGE fan and Loved her music during this period.
2024 and I'm STILL here. This song is a WHOLE NOSTALGIC, TIMELESS, CLASSIC!! 💯🤞🏾💯😝 I remember when this song came out. I must have been like 13 14, but the early 2000s era WAS A TIME TO BE ALIVE FRFR!! So, underrated in MY opinion. She's was DEFINITELY that gworl back then. PERIOD 😌💅🏾
She was great representation and I was a punk singer and after seeing females as such! I knew it was possible and a dream of mine!! Black Girls can Rock!!!!!! Emo days aren’t over!!
Love Fefe love this song, a star outside of a boxed world of artist doing the same thing as the next. She kool, cute, and seems like a fun person 2 hang wit. Her music is part of my life playlist in the early 2000s highschool years!!!
As a teenage black girl in the early 2000s who love rock music, Fefe was a breath of fresh air 🖤
2003- I love this song 🖤
2024- I still love this song 🖤
I still love you Fefe ❤
You said it there lol same blk girl who was a tennager btw the 2000’s and 2010’s and I felt so good seeing her on the screen

Say that again
Agreed
It’s 2021 and I’m back here listening to this ! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Righttt!!!!! Heard it on radio, they played it on our Retroactive Tuesdays, I'm stuck on replay after 18yrs still. June 12, 2021. This is a gem!!!!!!!🔥🔥🎶🎶
I’m here listening in 2021 as well
👍🏾
I thought of her today and googled. I had a crush on her when I first saw her in 2003 in Take me away.
Same,
It's 2022 and woke up craving to listen to Fefe she really spoke to my heart as a teenager.
Dude on TikTok said she was awesome, came here to find out, my man did not lie.
Facts, it's 2023 and woke up with this same craving. Other people had Avril growing up, I had Fefe!
Facts 💯💯💯💯💯
SAME
And now it's 2024, and still have mad love for Fefe
This was my jam! Thank you Fefe for letting a young black girl in Jamaica tap into her alternative rock phase! Years later I still know all the words!
Fefe Dobson, Avril lavigne, Justin Timberlake, Trapt, Hoobastank, Weezer, Good Charlotte, Maroon 5, Dashboard Confessional = my life during middle school... The good old days... I still listening to them!!
Omg dashboard confessional forgot all about them. Thank you for some nostalgia now I gotta go download there music

Willow Smith has something to say. Yes seriously.
I loved her style. I had that punk rock look in the early 2000’s ❤
Applauding this comment 3 years later, but hey, better late than never! I'd love to see another black girl doing rock music!
well u know black folks invented rock music
I remember when The-N would show this during breaks before the new Degrassi episodes...ah, to go back...
kreenichiwa k omggggggg atleast somebody rememberssssss❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I remember.
i like the way she dressed back then everybody else wore the black t shirts and jeans also back then?
💜
kreenichiwa k yess.. nostalgia
Canadian female rock singers are always dope!
Alanis Morrisette, Avril Lavigne, Skye Sweetnam, Fefe Dobson and Lillix are awesome!
Lee Aaron too. 😉
YES!!! Omg you know all my favorites! I was just thinking about Lillix about 30 seconds before I saw YOUR COMMENT!
Lillix! Fuck yes. I agree
No Michelle Branch ? :(
Yesss I noticed that too
FeFe Dobson was "Everything" to so many pop fans twenty years ago. This song/video still strikes a positive cord.
omg I was not prepared to rewatch this video. I miss her music so much. I miss the early 2000s so much. I miss being a teenager so much. ;______________;
Athena Chevalier I wish I could keep the confidence and lack of "give a fucks" I have now and do middle school/high school again...sometimes lolol
accurate
Same
She still does music. Her newest song is called "Save me from LA" you should check it out
Right, but if we woke up tomorrow as a teenager we would immediately go back to wanting to grow up asap lol always want to be grown, until youre grown and then you want to be young again but if you were made young again youd want to grow up lol
Grass always seems greener.
Omg why am i crying right now!? Im getting old!!!! It sucks. This was such a great time in my life!!!
Me too
We were definitely care free. This song really give the feels of nostalgia. You can definitely go to the exact point when you remember this song being out.
Me 2
This was 8th grade for me.. I just cant believe it's been 18 years since I first heard this song
I was there. Great memories.
She was ahead of her time
So true.
Way
Yes
Alternative was so big back in 2004/2008
Not really. This was the sound of that era. You act like this was released in 1988. And even then it wouldnt be THAT out of place.
I loved this song in middle school. That early 2000s fashion tho lol
:)
I love this song.
Yes! Lol. I was in high school then. Good times!
What you mean? The fashion was the best. People didn't try too hard and had fun.. We didn't need to worry about having makeup on fleek or wear the most expensive brands...
The fashion was great kids were kids and most ppl covered up
THIS WAS THE JAM BACK IN THE DAY AND STILL IS LMAO 😭 used to walk the hallways with my cd player and think I was everything 🤡💀😭
Man this takes me back to me when I didn't care what the world thought
Me too!
Don’t worry. As you get the older, you care less and even more less than you did back then of what people and the world think of you. 💛
It was a good time!
Interesting. The older I get, the less I care. Middle (and high) school years were my people pleasing years.
literally
I remember hearing this song on One Tree Hill and thinking “I need to get this song” still have it til this day.
I loved this song when I was a kid. She should've been bigger than she is today.

This song was such an iconic part of my childhood!
me too😟
12 years later, that hook is still fucking everything.
John Whiting Meh, probably. But so are you for even asking that.
I loved that she was her AUTHENTIC self! and looked damn BEAUTIFUL doing so! #BlackGirlMagic
She's so underrated
Extremely.
one of the most underrated songs from the alternative pop era of the mid 2000s! this should have been so much bigger. it's so good, will always be a fav of mine.

Omg I didn't even know there was a name for this genre. Alternative pop in the 2000s was literally my fave
Met her when I was younger and got to go on stage. She’s so nice ❤. Felt good seeing someone that looks like me making punk music. Rare. Bring her back.

Absolutely correct. But she's such a talented gem. 💛
It's sad. Black artists created rock music and the black community deems it "white people music." So sad. Fefe was the shit. Pardon me, IS the shit!
That'ts why she dropped out for a while. they thought because she is black she should not play rock n roll.
Thank you Randy!!!! Someone with some sense!
Shane Wilson she was accepted until the label decided to give Rihanna her swag and drop Fefe. I was so upset then, but I've come to accept rihanna.
Man these 2000's songs are amazing! I love that high school setting so much but this one easily tops them all.
2020? I remember this video airing after Degrassi on The N back in 2003.
HOLY SHIT. SAME.
Yes!!
SAME ^~^
Here from 2020 too
This song was my favorite movie song and still is a good song Fefe made 👍 yesh
When I was a teenager. This song was my fav. I had her as my wallpaper. Pretty rocker. This song is still the shit.

I still have her First CD. This song brings back good memories.
I remember walking around playing this album on my SpongeBob CD Player as a kid 🤣.. wheww the memories.
I didn't know they made those 😂 now I want one
I forgot all about this song, and I just watched "the Perfect Score", so here I am watching the video.
Michael Cloutier me too !!!
Fefe Dobson is everything to me! Love her music, she's the most beautiful singer I've ever seen. If I ever met her, I'd probably spaz lol, fan for life Fefe thanks for the great "homework help"

This is an excellent song!! Reminds me of the TRL days
Trl days?
Good old dayz
@@rahstara if u gotta ask that you're 2 young
Yes it does
@@marvinbarksdale4915 Yup, I am 18.
Not even 1 million views this should have over 1 billion already this song is still a bop today.
the biggest issue is this generation didn't really get to experience the awesomeness of FeFe and because she's been kind of MIA in terms of crossover wise since the debut album, a lot of kids nowadays dont know who she is. Sad.
Fefe dobson was something different. she's so cute.
So many memories listening to this ahh her and skye sweetnam sound
Soldier era , and Stacey orrico were some of my faves 🥰
I love all of them: Fefe, Skye and Stacie. I also listen to Avril, Aly & AJ, Lillix, Michelle Branch, Krystal Meyers, Everlife, Lesley Roy...
People change within a decade. Fefe is Fefe, and there's no changing that. She can pull off any genre of music. I love that she's back! Woo!!
Just read about Fefe Dobson in the Hollywood Reporter and remembered this song. I had to look it up. Blast from the past!
can I say how much i loved fefe dobson growing up! it's been years since listening to the 1st album and I still remember every lyric to get songd lol! she was truly a pop punk queen!

And the only one from that era I still listen to.
Been listening to this so many times on the bus to the university, between classes…etc. miss that time and friends whom never seen again…
Such a pretty song
Highschool was so much fun with this kind of songs. The Veronicas, Skye Sweetnam, Stacie Orrico and many more 💕
This was a bop, and I’m still listening. An underrated artist. We need more fefe? Music sucks right now please help our ears.
Check out Olivia Rodrigo, GAYLE, Willow Smith, Maggie Lindemann, Pale Waves, LOLO, Sarah Barrios, Leah Kate and Zolita.
This song defined my middle school years.
I haven’t heard this song in a long time! It brings me back to my junior high years when I was 14 years old.
Fefe Dodson was big in the early 2000. This record was about her black dad and white mother relationship. She was everywhere in 2009.
2023 and rocking Fefe
Fefe Dobson is just gorgeous! Simply stunning! I hate that she and her music is so underrated, but atleast her fans will always be loyal to her and we can check out her video's thanks to TH-cam! I was 11. Haha
