Leela Rabinovitz Ofra Haza performed Yocheved only in Br.Portuguese, Castilian Spanish, Czech, Dutch, English, Eu.Portuguese, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Latin Spanish, Norwegian, Polish, Slovak and Swedish. In Bulgarian, Cantonese, Catalan, Croatian, Danish, Icelandic, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Russian, Thai and Ukrainian are other singers, who are beautiful with their own unique way, but none can overpass Ofra Haza.

KOSMOSandTELOS the voice actor(Ofra Haza) was Israeli, so it's actually not surprising. It's her first language. And it's really amazing because she sang this in 17 different languages. She did the English, Hebrew, French, Swedish, Dutch, German, Finnish, Czech, Greek, Latin, Castilian, Hungarian, Italian, Portuguese, Brazilian, Norwegian and Polish dubs for this song.

Deliver us to the Promised Land.

O River! O River! Calmly carry (him). With great care,
Carry (him) away to a place where he is free to live.
Little brother, you are now okay.

Grow up, and someday, deliver all of us.

The Japanese sound is a "flap." The tongue tip curls past the alveolar ridge (behind the upper teeth) and flicks forward during pronunciation. The English "r" sound is a retroflex, made by curling the tip (or the area just past) up towards the ridge and letting air flow through the gap. The "l" is a liquid, made by touching the tip to the ridge and letting air flow past on both sides. English speakers may interpret the flap as "l" or and "r", but it's a separate sound, foreign to English.

Is it bad if I think the Japanese version sounds better than the English one? The group choirs at the start and throughout the song sound so much better than the original (the English one sounded off key). The woman who sings the solo parts (forgot her name, sorry) sounds amazing in both though.

Solaris It sounds off key in english version because it's describing the pain they are in. I prefer the English version. Not saying that this one is bad but I just feel like the way it go.

I like all versions but I've got to admit that there are better versions than english itself like italian, french, latin spanish, hebrew, german and more

Nice version, it gave me chills at the part when all the voices rise up at once. Still strange hearing it in Japanese but not a bad strange.

Ofra Haza, who voiced Yocheved, sang the opening song "Deliver Us" in 28 languages in which the film was released, in addition to her native Hebrew language.

When “my baby” says in Japanese ”watashi no akachan“
It´s long, and does not match a melody.

@phangirl91 No, you can hear the difference after listening to the others (through voice and vibratto). Makes little sense after she sang in mandarin/cantonese.
