cheers bro who are you from those 1800 ? wtz I c :) good choice to play until end,. Im sweating every time playing against human and not the computer lol
Levy I just today hit 2000 elo! That's 18 months after I first got into chess, and it is a lot thanks to you and your content. I started watching regularly at the end of 2022 in December and saw a steady increase in rating from then on, shooting to 1500 a few months before summer break. I would love if you could feature my journey on your channel as a proof of how instructive your content is, but most likely I'm just a part of the bunch and you cannot give everyone the attention they ask for. This series; How to Win at Chess, has definitely been one of the more helpful ones on your channel! Anyways, if you find this interesting that would be amazing, and I'll send you an email about this as well.
Educational and historical videos are probably my favorites. Loving the 2024 content so far. How do we get the chance to play you in one of these videos?
Man you are amazing at teaching chess. I am at 900 elo currently and i most of the time loose because of time and miss calculations. This video really helped a lot..
My "how to always win at chess" trick is to (1) watch chess content on TH-cam regularly - could be openings, elo difference comparison, trap openings, counters, positioning, etc.. lessons on this platform, (2) to never stop grinding but don't overdo it and (3) set a goal you want to reach. I'm a 500 elo chess back in April 2020. I stopped playing at the end of that year, came back Christmas 2023. I have been playing everyday since. When I returned I made a new account. I got put into 750 range, and have now climbed up to 1100 just doing all 3 of the steps above. My end goal is 1700 or 1800 by the end of this year. I'm already at 30% from my goal since I started this journey. Nobody asked for this but I just feel like sharing. Inspired a lot by Tyler1.
"I'm not going to lose a queen to my subscriber, no chance." *Previous how to win at chess, Levy traps his queen, his opponent doesn't see it. "Like I said, I'm not going to lose a queen to my subscribers, they're trash."
You should either reflect your camera across the y-axis, or move your play monitor to the other side, so it looks like you are looking at the chess board when you are playing/commentating.
Hey Levy! Just wanted to say that this video came right on time, because I bought your book yesterday and I hope it helps me to improve my chess. Thank you for all this content. Greetings from El Salvador 🇸🇻
Levy this is my favorite type of content that you do- incredibly instructive and I feel like I learn new things every video! I’m sure it isn’t easy to make long form videos like this so I just want to say thank you and I hope you continue to do more🙏 In case any advertisement-related folks or people with leverage at TH-cam are reading this (highly doubtful, but who knows), please note that I am FAR more likely to buy advertised products if you do a 5-15 second ad break vs a 30-45 second add. The former is merely an annoyance but retains my attention, whereas the latter is a complete burden and has the opposite of your intended effect. If a commercial drags on that long I mute the program and literally leave my desk to go do something else to occupy my time. Reese’s: I would’ve gladly tried your new caramel-infused cups had TH-cam been more tasteful in the amount of time that it required me to watch your marketing campaign. Because they forced me to sit through so many repeated commercials of unnecessarily long duration, I am now vehemently opposed to even trying the product because the thought of it now conjures up feelings of deep frustration rather than satisfying a craving. The same general sentiment goes for AAA and all the other companies advertising here; please do what you can to convince TH-cam to shorten their ad breaks and reduce their frequency- you are going to push away more potential patrons if you do not do so.
man people really can't appreciate anyone. Like he is providing such an instructive video and yet you guys try to judge his qualifications?? He is giving the IDEA okay! These ideas are used by GMs as well but they practice more and know more tricks. So he is just giving you a foundation where you build your house but it depends on you how far you get. Even more, teachers at masters level give class sessions to growing young enterpreneurs even though they might be failing their own business. You get it?
Hey levy! Will you write a book in future for intermidiate and following it up with advanced players? Cause' it will really help almost all of your subscribers and I think it's a good idea. What do you think levy?
currently working my way through the beginner course on chessly. I was lucky enough to be gifted 3 for christmas. can't wait to get into caro kann and vienna as well. have been practicing both a bunch even without the guide.
in the first game like 5 min in you said not to take the bishop trade because it allowes the queen to escape, but fun fact if we followed ur exact order so bd6 then qd6 and p5c then the queen could only go back because no matter which other place she gets taken. (except b4 realised that writing im not deleting this)
Hello Levy Rosman, "I got your How to win at chess" and i loved it but i was wondering if you could make one for endgames, or opening, or an Advanced one Thanks for all the great content
35:31 im terrible at chess, decent at puzzles, but my chess intuition told me to cut the rook off from the rest of the pawns. Levy i have been hooked to you videos once you started doing these “low elo” reviews. This helps out people like me that does not study enough chess. Playing 35:31 in “low elo” i feel like can ingrain bad habits, because you do not get punished as regularly for bad habits. See you explain these small intricacies is sooo cool
36:12 The root problem was like you said, i was worried about a rook, that was no danger. Sorry i dont watch as regularly as i did a few years ago. Keep it up tho. Its cool to see you gaining popularity and support, you deserve it!!!
24:23 he missed bishop e4 then take back with pawn and you are opening the file with a battery if he takes pawn with queen then go f7 with queen with check then take the rock with check. Edit: just saw it leads to mate in a few moves and I looks to be forced Edit2: stockfish didn’t agree..
I never have played chess, i have no interest in ever playing chess but you have a great skill in making videos entertaining and educational so i have been watching your videos for months now. Great work!
Great stuff! I was very pleased to see the Bird-Larsen (Nimzo-Larsen) at the end as I play that myself at times so it was nice to get some high level instruction and pointers during positions that I have some passing familiarity with. As always, enjoying your content and learning lots. While that learning doesn't always manifest in any obvious ways when reviewing my move choices, I have noted a trend that could be called improvement by those of a generous nature.
Suggestion. More videos about the strategies in the middle game that should be used with various popular openings, how to convert them, and what endgame we should look to force.

The best way to win at chess, is not losing
Losing the game makes it really difficult to win
I know right! Most of the time, when I lose, I never win. Maybe that’s just me though 😅
If you don’t play you won’t win if you play and lose but learn than you’ve won a small battle at least
