Thank you so much for posting this. As silly as it is this makes me teary eyed. The Apollo was a very big part of my childhood, taking many trips across the straits to visit my grandparents in the summer and a few scattered, long winter crossings. Something about looking back at what used to be reminds me of the days where there were no worries. Where the gift shop was the best place on earth. Where my uncles food from the galley tasted better than anything in the world. Anyways, thank you for doing what you do.
OMG...Me and family traveled with this beauty so many times to Finland in the early 70s. Later on i worked on her sister M/S Diana. She had 5 sisters on the Sweden-Finland service. She still have the same name as she had when she belonged to Viking Line. Her sisters where named M/S Diana, M/S Viking 1, M/S Viking 3, M/S Viking 4 and M/S Viking 5. This brings back many memories. Sorry for my bad English/ Adam (Sweden).. I dont know anything about her 2 sisters i Central America....
I travelled on her , when I was a small child, when she She sailed between Finland and Sweden, still I have good memories, great ship, sad that She is maintained so worse, O hope they will make her nice again!
Update here in 2025!! Unfortunately the year after this was posted she was replaced and sunken to provide a home for wildlife. I miss her as i spent lots of time on her as a kid. The new ferry, the Qajaq W, is nice, but will never compare with the nostalgia of the Apollo.
Sehr schöner Film. Mit einem Schwesterschiff bin ich zwischen Stockholm und Helsinki (Viking), dann mit einem anderen zwischen Hirtshals und Kristiansand (Fred. Olsen) gefahren..... Die Apollo wird auch nur noch von Farbe zusammengehalten. Toll die 70er Jahre Einrichtung. Das Schiff hat niemals ein Refresh erlebt..... sehr selten.... und das bei dem hohen Alter. Leider zwischen zeitlich auch aufgelegt.

In La Paz B.C.S Mexico, we was have 3 ships like this, but in 2005 they were dismantled, is sad see this video, I like ships I think was beautiful abord in ship

HAAAAA ...... i remember the apollo as "Corbière" in beginning of 90's between Cherbourg (France) and Poole (england) ... she was a very nice lady !!!

Shame that the outside decks are in such a bad nick, otherwise this is a nearly perfect time capsule! Is she due to be replaced soon?
Yes, that's too bad. It is planned to replace her by a larger ship. That explains her condition.
They’re supposed to get a two deck boat, but it won’t help in winters because the top deck is open
Shame to see such a lovely vessel disappear. Hopefully she will see further service.
