Drone St. John's, Newfoundland | Labrador | Canada| Signal Hill

- Drone flying around St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada which provided great aerial views of this pretty city, the harbor and the Signal Hill area. Truly loved this city - so much architecture and so many views :) Driving to this capital was great from the south as yesterday I was in Halifax. Day after tomorrow I will take another ferry to Labrador so I can visit Labrador City. While here I hiked all over Signal area and even made a few trails on my own to the north. After leaving here St. John's I stayed a second night in the wilderness on the northern side. I woke up to a large beautiful skunk who was curious about me and showed no fear of walking close to where I was standing with my Nikon. After leaving that morning I was able to photograph my first Linx; these photos can be seen on my website listed below. I have been in the arctic circle in five countries and yet I enjoyed more nature here in one day then weeks in the tundra or Scandinavian Mountains. I cannot wait to return when I am not on a 5-week drive across Canada's most northern roads which includes the Arctic Ocean in Tuktoyaktuk or Tuk as they call it 😎 Of course driving the James Bay Road gave me a great video of the Hydra Dam area.

I love to drive throughout the world whether on the right or left with either left-hand steering or right-hand steering and of course I have become accustomed to using a stick-shift with both hands :) I truly enjoy the great food and discussions with locals where I have been blessed to travel. Included on this channel are some driving and snorkeling videos and even a couple bike rides I recorded.
You can also see my beginning drone videos looking at 2016 dates when I filmed in safe nature areas. I practiced how to crash safely, how to fly with three propellers and how to ground the drone and drive to it. I practiced in snow, rain and extreme cold to make sure I understood the drones limitations before I went to the big cities. I handle a drone like I do a gun and I truly hope others do the same.

Wow, had no idea there was a city like this in Canada. Beautiful!
They have a few nestled within a beautiful nature area. I filmed 56 Canadian videos that are on this channel and of all the countries and cities I have posted here, Canada is my favorite for nature and easy access to the Arctic Circle. To drive all it in the northern most areas from where I live in South Texas is about 14,000 miles, but it is truly a prestigious trip.

Tourist from Ontario. Driving into St Johns from the SW and not knowing the city well, I was going to very briefly tour the city using Water Street from Hwy 2. It becomes a bit of a rats nest near the Terry Fox Monument. Also wish to see Signal Hill and Quidi Vidi ... not quite sure of the turns to make it happen. Your drone video was very valuable in sorting it out in my mind which turns to take. Thanks! P.S. I adore NL. My 4th visit.

Born in NF. Raised and currently in ON. Went back every summer and Christmas for years to visit my family. Lived there for a short while as well. My favorite city in the world. What a spot!!

After I retired my wife and I and another couple spent 8 days in NL. I'm so glad we did.

While filming I was unable to determine property values. Not much looked too high to me. Even during a backroad drive to the cliffs I found nice properties without enormous homes😎 Happy you found my travel channel with over 1,000 videos from around the world.

Beautiful place. Lots and lots of nature, and not busy/no traffic. But the disadvantage is it’s not connected to Canada/USA so you have to drive to corner brook which is 10 hours away, and then get on the ferry. But beautiful I see signal hill, jellybean lane lots of water and beautiful lands.
Yes it is. I enjoy nature more than cities. If you look at my photo website you will see a lynx I photographed about 40 kilometers from there with many other pretty animals and views at; www.JGlowacki.com . Do you have a Drone license? Footage seems to point to a drone > 249 grams. But maybe a DGI Mavic Mini can do all of this
I do fly recreational and with the Mini 2 and Mini 3. I always use different drones depending on weather, light, wind etc. Happy you found my travel channel with over 1,000 videos from around the world 😎

Far far cry from when schooners would sail from here to the banks dory fishing for Cod and the Great White Fleet would be regular visitors.

Great videos! First impression is that you illegally flew it downtown with the airport so close to downtown with runways showing on the map and red areas. But you have a micro drone DJI mini at less than 250g. NRC Canada in their maps, you get to choose micro, basic or advanced. The latter 2 were not permitted to fly but yours was ok just use extreme caution that NRC suggests. Was in St John’s 2 weeks. Go and misinterpreted the map. BTW did you use Litchi and the drone was the Mini?

That's The Rooms Art Gallery and Museum. It also houses the provincial archives. It's built on the grounds of the former Fort Townshend.
