Mayu, the lead doesn't speak English and has had to learn how to pronounce it. Even Marty Friedman (ex-Megadeth) has coached her a little. Mayu and one of the guitarists, Saki, were on the TH-cam channel Rock Fujiyama where Marty is one of the hosts. On the show he coached Mayu. The video is only in Japanese but around 3:13 the topic of pronouncing English comes up. th-cam.com/video/hio5ba0eD80/w-d-xo.html Note, Saki was the guitarist that left and she actually speaks English pretty well and I suspect she was Mayu's main English coach. And yes, Marty Friedman speaks Japanese.
this is one of my favorite songs, not only from nemophila, just in the whole catalog of music ive listened in my opinion, its the perfect balance between melodic, scream, breakdown and fun too, combined with the seamless transitions from japanese to english and the perfect slides from scream to clean vocals to scream
The Japanese metal/rock scene is fantastic, I feel it's the best in the world currently. Lovebites, Band-Maid, Hanabie & Nemophila are all awesome + there are others. It's a deep rabbit hole, but well worth it.
Just survived Hanabie last night in Portland…better buckle up for December. Japan is an embarrassment of metal riches, and Nemophila is no exception. 🤘🔥🇯🇵🍻❤️
They just rereleased this song today with their lineup change. They lost one of the best guitarists on the planet and somehow improved this song. The other members stepped up big time. Give it a listen.

You’re both wrong. But you’re also both right. NEMOPHILA is not a Japanese word, but they pronounce it “ネモフィーア,” which comes out something like “neh-moh-fee-la.” They are an amazing band. Try all their MVs and live videos; you might be surprised at the range of musical styles they command. I saw HANABIE (花冷え, pr. はなびえ / ha-na-bi-eh) in Sacramento, CA, last week. They were great.
