Not take it to the bench and start clipping them off nice a easy like.

How far did you scale that down? I also own this mask STL from DO3D and a X1C and its not possible to print at that orientation at 100%. There isn't enough clearance for the z-height. This Mask just barely fits in at an angle, and even then you have to be careful with the supports because you will get an error about the g-code going beyond the limits.
