I didn't truly appreciate Tool, SOAD, Avenge Sevenfold until I watched Meytal Cohen with Lior Ron's multiple angled shots and superior editing. #Meytel Joining the inner circle soon. Keep smiling angel!
I grew up with grunge music in the 90s, I can responsibly say that it was the last thing that happened in rock music. Kudos to this beauty for playing the drums, I wish her and her family all the best. It's phenomenal when you hear someone know how to bring out the original drumming on a given theme.
What amazes me more than her drumming chops is her ability to learn so many complex arrangements. The music she chooses to cover is not repetitive within itself so how she remembers where it is going attests to her true talent.
It seems to good to be true. Her skins were perfectly tuned. She made it look easy, didn’t break a sweat and even clowned for the cam a little. Almost seems fishy
Being able to nail something like that either while you're singing or lip syncing, is one of the best feelings in the world. That's how you know you know something you love inside and out. Well done ma'am, well done. 👍
leadballoon06 So you could do better? If you are in fact a drummer, I think you would sink on this song; like a lead filled balloon. Oh snap that's your username what a coincidence! Loser, no talent hack, hater and troll! If you have ever been to a Tool show you would know it never sounds the same as it does on the album, we are all human except you, your just a Troll. Go back to hiding under your bridge!
The whole idea us to cover it exactly.. And doing so is difficult when covering exceptional drummers... Anybody could take artistic license and make it up as they go along... Half the time, maybe more, the original drummer doesn't even cover themselves accurately .. Like from the recording to a live version for instance
topcatt55 That is not the "whole idea" of a cover. My favorite covers are those that shed a new light on the song. For instance, Tool's cover of No Quarter, nowhere near the original, but definitely holds it own. She doesn't even the same set-up as Carey, so wanting her to cover it exactly is asking a little much.
I see your videos for two reasons: The second reason is your talent, The first reason is because every time when you look into the camera and you give us a smile.
I have loved playing my drums for over 30 years - but meytalll has covered this song to perfection. One I've never been able to master myself. And for that I applaud you. Much respect! ! !
Three on a row, Lateralus, 46 & 2 and this. I could listen Tool till my ears bleed. Soulmassaging! Maynard is as spiritual as ten incarnated Dalai Lama's has ever been. Beat poet and T.S. Elliot malleated together... Ou yeah. She was kinda nice too. c",
MEYTALLL wow you did it, I love your guts because the drummer from Tool is EPIC, he is absolutely one of the best out there for sure. You were simply awesome. You can't be great unless you take on the greats.
This is my favorite way to listen to Tool on the internet! I love watching this woman destroy the drums on Tool songs track after track after track. Thank you so much!
Vetter Burns It is orgasmic. But it's not nearly the hardest part of the song. once you catch the groove on the triplet, it wouldn't be terribly difficult. that fill going into the outro the. just insanity. my left hand doesn't bounce a stick that fast.
I can not believe you have haters commenting. I wanted you to fox up Drop a beat Anything You did not Also to give a cherry on the cake you owned the song I started asking myself, did Danny personally teach you. We both know he didn't. I've seen your other videos. It's clear you play from the heart. On a side note Maybe it's your style Or what you play But I'm interested :)
I didn't even know I was into Tool until I happened to start listening to Meytal play some other drum covers and got into her drumming and was introduced to all this music I had not really heard before so I am a new Meytal fan and a new fan of a lot of great bands and music.
Despite concentrating so hard to nail this difficult song (which you DID), you still managed to flash that signature smile of yours to let us know that you were loving this just as much as us!
I'm a TH-cam junky, and hands down, this is the sickest shit I've seen in awhile. Makes me wanna pick up sticks again. But now I'm a writer. Thank you for the inspiration. You rock girl!
She's incredibly talented and creative. A true professional in every sence. Truly an expert and wonderful percussionist Meytal is so vibrant and totally beautiful. Definitely one of my favorite drummers of all time. I love the way she plays. Excellent videos. Perfect. ☺☺
I was like, wait a minute I've got to play along with this pretty, skillful lady, all I had here is my Yamaha APX-6A, I made it work, thanx 4 this meytall...you are great. This is without a doubt, my fav, Tool song.
Wow! I never realized how talented Tool's drummer was till I watched somebody play it. You made it look easy even though I know better. You are truly awesome.
I'm not sure how you have what you do. if they haven't already, when they do, don't settle for less. You have a gift. A real one. I love the way you smile. You're having so much fun. When you're not, atep back and reavluate what you want. I also love the barefoot. Reminds me of Rich Mullins.
She is officially my second favorite drummer. Danny Carey of course being Number 1. But definitely she's number 2! Meytal you are amazing! thanks for the video!
I'm back watching this 10 yrs later still get the chills girl! Your my go to girl drummer when I'm stressed. Your my therapy honey. You make all my bullshit go away when I watch you. At 2:54 into vid drums puts me in a trance
so crazy, when you see danny play the bit at 2:53 live in kansas he only uses one hand even to hit the snare, but when you watch every cover the drummer uses two hands, just shows his talent
Wooooow your drum covers just blow me away everytime I watch one. Your absolutely perfect looks help with the blowing me away as well. Dayummmn giiiirl.
When I look at this I think that human's body and brain Is an incredible machine...
I know right! So, much communication going on between brain and limbs!! She's AMAZING!!
I totally agree
you don't realize how technical TOOL'S drumming is until you see someone try to cover it
Even the Tabs for bass and guitar, fucked me up trying to learn this😂
This is the first Tool song I learned to play on the drums. kickass!
I didn't truly appreciate Tool, SOAD, Avenge Sevenfold until I watched Meytal Cohen with Lior Ron's multiple angled shots and superior editing. #Meytel Joining the inner circle soon. Keep smiling angel!
Totally agree
Have you heard Tool? very clearly technical I feel like but alright lmao.

Your facial experecision acctually remind me of Eddie Van Halen. Always smiling while doing something that is incredibly difficult. Love it.
You know, one of the things I most enjoy about her covers is her taste in music.
Y'know, yer right. I've been ADMIRING Meytal's work for Years! The Song-Lists are AMAZING & FRESH! (learning-to-swim...) Whoo-Frakkin-Hoo!
no matter now many times I watch her...i cannot get over her talent and dedication.
What amazes me more than her drumming chops is her ability to learn so many complex arrangements. The music she chooses to cover is not repetitive within itself so how she remembers where it is going attests to her true talent.
Absolutely love how relaxed she is doing such a complex pattern! Badass!
It seems to good to be true. Her skins were perfectly tuned. She made it look easy, didn’t break a sweat and even clowned for the cam a little. Almost seems fishy
Damn not only solid drumming, but with a smile! I feel the music god's presence watching this.
I love that smile when she nails the more difficult parts :)
...but mostly watching the stictx... ;)
Love the smile on your face shows that you love the music your playing keep it up
Being able to nail something like that either while you're singing or lip syncing, is one of the best feelings in the world. That's how you know you know something you love inside and out. Well done ma'am, well done. 👍
UNREAL!!!!!!! She makes it look so easy!!! WELL DONE!!!
Always like to see drummers/guitarists singing along to the song in their heads like she was. It's kinda cool imo, but that may just be me
These drum covers are pretty solid. plus, this is my favorite Tool song.
they would be pretty solid since she covers them note for note
leadballoon06 So you could do better? If you are in fact a drummer, I think you would sink on this song; like a lead filled balloon. Oh snap that's your username what a coincidence! talented, and by the smile, just all around cool lady. Enjoyed it!
I don't know why , but after a particular shitty day , a cold beer and this is like a nerve pill .
Very dynamic! You'd make Danny incredibly proud.
The Beauty plays like a Beast.
more like moral uprights mate... just sayin... ;)
@UC2_CVe_ftc6YL3BxfaSflaA stfu nerd

I can watch her playing tool songs all day. Staggering talent.
How many brains do you need to have to play this song on drums? You're amazing Meytal!
Man, that drumms are played with so much love.
That is the awesome thing I ever seen. You're incredible Meytal.
I really love you!
I have loved playing my drums for over 30 years - but meytalll has covered this song to perfection. One I've never been able to master myself. And for that I applaud you. Much respect! ! !
that part with the toms has me rethinking percussion
You make that look easy. Us drummers know what a challenge this song is. You inspire me to practice more.
Three on a row, Lateralus, 46 & 2 and this. I could listen Tool till my ears bleed. Soulmassaging! Maynard is as spiritual as ten incarnated Dalai Lama's has ever been. Beat poet and T.S. Elliot malleated together... Ou yeah. She was kinda nice too. c",
That was un-freakin'-believable! You are absolutely amazing.
just absolute Talent
I love when she smiles. Who else agrees?
I like how the bass drum has a tinny sound to it. Not just a straight deep bass sound.... Almost like the drum head is made of parchment.. Cool sound
I'm just shakin' my head...Speechless. Watching her play is like watching Creation unfold. Art in motion...
WITH ALL SINCERITY, I AM FUCKING IMPRESSED!!!!
MEYTALLL wow you did it, I love your guts because the drummer from Tool is EPIC, he is absolutely one of the best out there for sure. You were simply awesome. You can't be great unless you take on the greats.
Wow, that is a great brake coming off that double bass kick to the ride 5:03, sooo tight with that roll.
it sucks that the camera cuts at the exact moment
She's living proof that some people just got it, man! Keep rocking it girl! Much love from Southwest Virginia!!!

2:50 plus gives me a full-on percussion chubby!
Vetter Burns It is orgasmic. But it's not nearly the hardest part of the song. once you catch the groove on the triplet, it wouldn't be terribly difficult. that fill going into the outro the. just insanity. my left hand doesn't bounce a stick that fast.
+Michael Beck I agree but it still gave me chills.

You did not
Also to give a cherry on the cake you owned the song
I started asking myself, did Danny personally teach you.

how do you keep the 2 different beats going at the same time my hands and feet would be going back and forth the whole song lol
Despite concentrating so hard to nail this difficult song (which you DID), you still managed to flash that signature smile of yours to let us know that you were loving this just as much as us!
quite possibly the sexiest thing I've ever seen
*#lolz*
shes like 14 everyone so slowwwwwww down
@@VivianDanger Unless this was recorded in 1997, you are a little off.
Patrick LaBlanc umm this song was recorded by tool in 1996 but this video of her drumming to it was done in 2012 or 2013
MV1Bama99 4 you miss the point. Ian said she was 14 in this video. She was 14 in 1997. And you are correct about when it was recorded , therefore...
I'm a TH-cam junky, and hands down, this is the sickest shit I've seen in awhile. Makes me wanna pick up sticks again. But now I'm a writer. Thank you for the inspiration. You rock girl!
that Tom head is so loose lol. it was driving me crazy.
matt Canterbury douche
Dedication! Wow! That was perfect note for note as far as I can tell!
i pray to have a wife like this or better yet actually marry her
The best
Meytal rájöttem , hogy Te nem csak ritmust dobolsz, hanem DALLAMOT játszol a dobokon és cineken! Gratulálok! Ez különleges és gyönyörű!

Eye Sees You to make to look like it’s easy for them!
Indubitably.
No pressure. Just the best song ever. And so good to see it nailed👍😀
Quem são os doentes que dão "deslike" nesse vídeo?
Só pode ser por inveja!
Busy tune...excellent job, Meytal.
thanks for no wearing socks and shoes :>
Agreed I'm going through the playlist of all of her covers, and it's also introducing me to some new awesome music so this is win-win.
Why does the feet make a woman that much hotter
+Ron Reynolds cause feet are natural, and shoes are posers :P
i dont know but she is a great looking gal and has nice feet thats all, and ya i like to kiss womens feet so what
Ron Reynolds yeah that's fair
Yes I "like" the comment...and no I don't even have a foot fetish
Very, very nice. The most important thing to remember is to never stop learning! Take care and peace.
Love you feet even more!!
She's incredibly talented and creative. A true professional in every sence. Truly an expert and wonderful percussionist Meytal is so vibrant and totally beautiful. Definitely one of my favorite drummers of all time. I love the way she plays. Excellent videos. Perfect. ☺☺
One of your best covers yet... IMHO. I love your footwork. You are so gifted!
Outstanding job on that cover. You played like you wrote it yourself. No words can describe how impressed i am.
Bill Hicks, Tool AND Meytal all in one.. i love this drum cover!!! You are the best.. marry me, a fellow drummer!
I was like, wait a minute I've got to play along with this pretty, skillful lady, all I had here is my Yamaha APX-6A, I made it work, thanx 4 this meytall...you are great. This is without a doubt, my fav, Tool song.

Love the way you play these technical pieces with such ease and a smile
5:38 that part is awesome. Good job
She's come a long way, baby, b/c of pure talent and dogged determination
What a great job! All I've ever gotten to do is air-drum this song. Watching you hit all those beats is a rush and a half. Just kickass! Thanks!
This is the best one of Meytal's videos... In my opinion.
You even nailed the ghost notes! that's really fuicking impressive... To play Danny Carey it's always a top class level for any drummer
so crazy, when you see danny play the bit at 2:53 live in kansas he only uses one hand even to hit the snare, but when you watch every cover the drummer uses two hands, just shows his talent
That game me chills! One of the most difficult drums parts I know of, and you blew it away! Wonderful!
Ryan Hawkins Rosetta Stoned?
A well placed elec fan keeps back her hair and adds nice wispy to the track. Great musical talent, solid timing and pleasant drum and visual.
Tool.. one of the most skilled drummers for off beat and odd beat drumming.. she masters it.. Amazing Meytal keep it up!!!!
Danny Carey would be impressed... Great song, one of their best... TOOL live forever!
Watching your videos to me is like standing among summer-ocean waves, beyond refreshing..
Your absolutely Incredible Meytal. Your the Best. I love all your Music. Your Also Extremely Beautiful.
shes still a drumming goddess in 2019 and beyond

Still my favorite tool song of all time! Thank you for covering it....you were killing it! Really enjoy the page, keep up the good work 👍
Daaaaaaammmnn, Meytal. If Danny ever gets sick and can't tour you could sit in! You must practice your ass off! NICE!
Aside from her skills and beauty, outright great video production. Im hooked!
