Really glad you got this interview, Phil, and you could tell just how much your questions and commentary resonated with Steve. You and Steve both deserve another round with each other and we viewers would be all the happier for it.
Saw him perform Foxtrot at the Liverpool Philharmonic, consummate performer, great show as usual. Great interview, he comes across as a really nice guy...
Phil, what a great interview. While watching it I was thinking just the other day you were talking about your trials of working in the factories and how depressed you were during that period in your life and now look at you Phil, interviewing freaking Steve Hackett. What an accomplishment for you. You must be so proud as I know your family including your son are very proud of you. Thanks again and keep the videos coming!
Thanks for this interview. Steve Hackett is one of my long-term musical heroes, not least of all for his sublime, literate songwriting. The range of his musical vocabulary is staggering. While I'm always more excited by Steve's solo catalogue, "Foxtrot" is a great one to revisit. "In spirit, a lot of it was classical" - yes, indeed!
S.Hackett, esq: amazing guitarist and still a total guitar geek (which I love about him), very clever and well-read gentleman. He gives as much "value for money" in interviews as he gives us in his vast and varied catalogue of music! Oh... Guess I should add the words "really hard worker" here, too. 😁🤣🤗👍
Steve, keeping the Flame burning all these years later. Foxtrot was my first Genesis album, bought straight after i first saw and heard Genesis at the Oval in 1972. Thank you for this Phil.
I've just finished listening to the interview. Marvellous. Two men get together and talk about lots of things, intelligently, with eloquence and eruditión. It's been a huge pleasure, made my day.
Hello Phil!! Great interwiew as allways!! The five members of Genesis is still alive!! I know, its never gonna happen… But in my dreams.. A Genesis reunion, whith PG, and Steve!!😋🖤💛..
Congratulations Phil on a wonderful interview with the great and always amenable Steve Hackett, I was especially pleased with your question about his early effects and his answer about fuzz boxes in series, which proves a point that guitar players back then had to be far more inventive to create their sound than today (although it's interesting that everyone seems to want vintage sounds today instead of finding their own!). Keep up the good work.
Oh no, how embarrassing! I must have been looking at 'Sea of tranquility' before this 🤣@@davidbutterfield7718 th-cam.com/users/sgaming/emoji/7ff574f2/emoji_u1f923.pngth-cam.com/users/sgaming/emoji/7ff574f2/emoji_u1f923.png
And Stevo isn't the most difficult man in the world to interview... Give him a good question and he'll give you chapter and verse as a reply. BUT: the interviewer has to keep those interesting questions coming! So, kudos, Phil! I'm still listening to the interview, and, er, bluddyLuvvingIt!! Thanks to both of you (you & Steve, that is: I'm not making out that you're schizophrenic 😆).
Hi Steve and Phil, what an exquisite interview. I saw him two tours ago and it was wonderful. Loved the part of the interview that dealt with the importance and influence of music. Yep... I get hairs going up my neck when I listen to some classics God bless you both. Thank you for this incredible interview.
Fabulous discussions Phil, was lovely how without saying it directly Steve was saying what you always say, music is the doctor and the healer. I’ve seen Steve so many times and always so passionate. When CD’s came out, Selling England was the first album I duplicated, having had the vinyl from way back. In fact I got the ‘Know what I like’ single first and was then a huge fan. Actually love the b side of that single ‘Twilight Alehouse’ - awesome work Phil, many thanks
Saw this last night but due to illness I didn’t comment. Riveting interview, as expected you and Steve connected so well resulting in a well paced interview. Steve clearly enjoyed talking to you which is a gain for all of us. Good to hear him give a shout out to the Fender Champ I love mine to bits. Great work Phil (so good I’m re-watching it now)
I watch on you tube so I don’t comment enough but another brilliant interview. I want to see Steve live again now and I totally get and appreciate what you told him on Los Endos. Also great recent interview with Zal. Thank you
Phil, following on from @texeast8680 comment below, it occurred to me that your musical heroes are willing to talk to you because you are deeply interested in their music rather than trying to probe them for sensationalist stories or anecdotes. You have the gift of getting them to open up to you because they trust you. The interviews stand on their own merit regardless of era, genre or personality of the interviewee. Best wishes, Paul.
@@NowSpinningMagazine my fault Phil I did get the notification. I have a few memory issues at the moment I’m afraid so if I don’t watch something straight away I often forget. Had a stroke and it’s messed with my short term memory but luckily my long term is absolutely fine.
Excellent! I think you only needed to ask Steve one question, Phil. He seemed very comfortable and willing to talk.. My copy of the live CD and DVD is on route. Interested to see what Steve gives us next.

Congrats on another great interview. Steve is one of the greatest guitarists of all time!
Thank you so much 😊

Hi Alex, thank you so much 😊
I was 16 when I seen Steve play the O`keefe Center in Toronto, Now 60, going to see the band in the newly renovated Massey Hall.
Great show.👍👍
Thank you - Phil :)
No worries. Phil. Discovered your channel last year. Brilliant stuff every week. 👍👍
1st class musician and human being!

Let's get Genesis back together with Steve, Tony, Mike, Phil's Son and Ray Wilson.
That would be great.
Has this already been on patreon? If so I don’t think that I got the notification
Yes - it was there for over a week - sorry you were not notified - Phil
