I also thought this was a huge step forward from the first movie. I didn’t hate the first one at all, but I was really hoping for a more cosmic story, which we got here. The idea of putting someone as powerful as Carol into a situation where their massive power doesn’t really help them was a good one. I think with some fleshing out this could have been one of the absolute best Marvel’s ever had. As it is it’s just an enjoyable movie in the middle of my Marvel ranking.
1:21 -- Dude. You made my night. This is *exactly* what I had in mind when I pitched you this joke. With the split-screen and everything. A+ execution! ahaha
I still feel like the first movie got too much shit. What people describe about the movie as bad I feel is always a bigger misunderstood concept people are selectively missing. People forget that Carol Danvers of the first movie isn't a real identity. For 90 percent of the movie the whole character is a stoic front on a character who wasn't originally a stoic front. Literally a non soldier person, just a pilot who isnt mainly a ground combatant, who is brainwashed into a hard nosed freedom fighter. Think about all those first movie complaints for a second, I think you used the word awkward, and overly stoic, emotionless, in this context they're actually clever clues. Also confusion is an emotion and there's a lot of that. (I got nothing for her being overpowered but we all were completely aware of that b4hand and its silly to dock them points for it). In the end she kindof merges with her hard nosed freedom fighter self through her self control and regained memories, and defeated the actual villian that was illusion, which is why they made the guy at the end kindof a joke, a clue that he wasnt the real bad guy. Anyways I appreciate that somebody had the balls to say they enjoyed the second one

Great review! And not a bad MCU movie. I can name at least 3 MCU movies I had far less fun with (Thor 4, Dr Strange 2, The Eternals). You could add GOTG3 to that. While that was a more serious movie, it was far less fun (and brief) than The Marvels.

Let's be honest, you were able to ignore the trash just because this film is short lol or i guess the trash wasn't there long enough to hurt you. Fair enough. Imagine if it were 2h30m, you'd be shitting on it
Length is not an issue for me. It's pacing. Most of the time (especially lately) movies are overstaying their welcome. That said, if a movie has enough going for it, I'll sit and enjoy the damn thing like I did with "Killers of the Flower Moon". The Marvels was a very easy watch.
@@AdamDoesMovies yeah, the marvels was never gonna be like killers of the flower moon. If it were 2h30m or something, it would've had bad pacing leading to the length feeling overbearing.
I respectfully disagree on your take on brie Larson’s acting, because I enjoyed it a lot more in this film compared to the first one, but that’s just me and your review was still great and I like how honest you were with your take on the film😊. Overall, this film was really good I always had hope that this would be good and I'm glad I was right. I knew that the fanbase would have unjust hate for this film, but I've learned from watching the first Captain Marvel, Eternals, She Hulk, Ms Marvel, and other projects that the Fanbase has called woke garbage: I can only trust my own thoughts and feelings on these movies and TV shows and I loved this movie. And if any dickhead fan wants to come at me, I want you to know: grow the fuck up, stop taking the existence of other minorities as a threat, the movies you enjoyed still exist, so let us enjoy the films we like OK?
I can't wait to see the Marvels. We have to remember the only thing that made Captain Marvel a great character is her interaction with the Black Panther. Maybe casting Brea Larson was a mistake because she doesn't have the range. What makes us like the early MCU movies are good actors and actresses plus light and dark sides with chaos to order events. A lot of plausible deniablity humor. To add, sensitive trash talk. It made good relationships query in the early movies. The real reason for this screw up is covid and the untimely death of Chad Bozeman. The black panther experience is what connects the new Avengers. The Black Widow movie and Thor movie disorder and not movies for Hawkeye. In the comics, he released everyone from the collector. The misuse of quick silver and the scarlet witch is coo coo. Not putting Dr. Strange his true motivation, and why is Wong better than him? Namoor, the out of shape Sub Mariner was just wrong. He is not even fighting TChalla. It just ripped the fabric of the storyline. Kevin will correct it with the multi verse, but we will be too old for the nonsense before we enjoy the new MCU. I'm losing focus on this subject. It reminds me of the present Marvel movies. I can't wait to see the Marvel and give my opinions on it. Over and ?
Yes thanks for having the balls! I loved it, it reminded me of trying to follow og spiderman across the screen, never had so much fun in such an empty theatre and its a damn shame. Only a couple rough cuts and I could say the same about back to the future, it doesn't come close to ruining an impossible lofty concept like superposition. I had to give it an 8 out of 10, losing points for a vague ending and the rough cuts. Thought the cats were odd but then somebody pointed out they were a tribble reference and then it clicked and I was on board :3

Why don’t they reboot X-Men? Storm, Rogue and Jean Grey are some of the most powerful Mutants in ever and then they can do the girl boss thing and it will actually fit with the cannon and be good
Finally! A review that is actually acurate, subjectively! I wantex to hate this movie from the jump, but I actuality enjoyed it. Thanks to, The Eternals, Antman 3, Doctor Strange 2, and Thor: LandT, the MCU was on life alert! But this is actually a fun Marvel movie that really tries to righr the ship. Plus, it's short and sweet and doesn't over stay it's welcome. Stop hating women/girl superheros, you wannabe Marvel fans....
There appear to be a lot of haters who don't like heroines with super powers. But I am wary of a general bias towards women using magic, like witches or sorceresses, instead of science fiction based powers.
Constantly? Wow. I’m impressed you are still hanging on, haha. I can’t listen to people who I constantly disagree with but I appreciate you putting up with me.
I'm sorry Adam. But Disney can't send you your shill check right now, because they are short on cash. A press invite for none upcoming Marvel movies will have to do. 😜😁😉

Believe it or not, I watch your reviews and the “cottage industry that’s dedicated to hating this crap”. However, that cottage industry has a lot of valid points and I’d more likely have their opinion of the film rather than yours. I still appreciate your content even though I’d probably strongly disagree with your take on this one but unfortunately I’ll probably never be seeing the film regardless.
Yep. There are a bunch of people that watch both. I don't care for their channels but I also mostly ignore them now. Perhaps it's not constantly Brie Larsons sucks, Disney is woke and Kathleen Kennedy is the devil. I assume they have drained that well and surely moved on to more substantive topics. I'll stay in my little corner and continue to just give my honest movie opinions.
But Adam, it's impossible that you like the movie. My social justice warrior friends say you can't identify with movie characters unless they are the same race and gender as you, and there are no signficant white male characters in 'The Marvels'. No representation = no identification = no enjoyment of a movie. That's just the way it is, and to disagree with that is weirder than Brie Larson's feet. Eww, twisty toes magic!
True, they don't really argue, its more like a mix of a screaming teenage girl stired in with a D- student explaining concepts from a gender studies class at an unaccredited online community college @@owenmenning3878
@@owenmenning3878 Because I'm currently not that interested in Mcu content. I'd much rather stay home & enjoy myself with shows like Jujutsu Kaisen, Rurouni Kenshin & Spy x family during my freetime.
Finally saw it on Disney plus today and I found myself enjoying it and chuckling, it wasn’t great but seems like the hate for it was predetermined. Marvel isn’t what it was but this was a solid movie all things considered
I also liked the Movie, it has the usual Marvel Flows but does a lot of crazy and new Things and it was really fun to watch. I think people should stop seeing Movies as extreme serious and almost religious and just having Fun and a good time when they watch a Movie. And if you had not, then just watch something else.
If you like The Marvels, I don't judge you. That is, if you like it like I like Robyn Hood. It's so bad it's hysterical, you laugh at it. You can't seriously sit there with a straight face and say you thought it was anything other than hysterical when you get lines like "BLACK GIRL MAGIC!"
The Actors, action, and special effects were good. They were all done wrong by bad writing. Sam Jack didn't deserve this. The plot was so stupid, and could have been fixed with just asking Captain Marvel to do one thing. The cats and singing planet smh I really really really wanted to like this movie because I like the characters. Disney didn't like them.
I'll watch this once it gets on streaming or I can buy it. I like the reasonable take. Carol Danvers Captain Marvel character has ALWAYS been lame including the comics. It is always getting cancelled. LOL. The big corporations should probably look at past results for some indicators...
Hey man I don't know if you know this but opinions are subjective. If a movie has pedophilia or support any other messed up stuff, then yes it can be universally hated and liking it is wrong, but if the movie doesn't have that, then yeah, liking it or not, is subjective. Just because you hated the flash doesn't mean everyone in the world should?
You are saying it like flash was the worst superhero movie or something. NWH was really bad, but do you see anyone trashing on it? Again opinions are subjective
Adam this is a $300 MILLION dollar movie dude... it can't be a wacky, cheery family "Disney +" movie! I mean it can be whatever they want, but no way in hell was all that done un-purpose for that budget, if it seems like that to you it means they made a $300 mil-mess! FNAF or something similar actually meant for that to be the final product (This is no Starship Troopers man).
What are you even going on about? I don't care what the movies budget was. My movie ticket didn't cost any more or any less because of it. My experience was good. Not great. Not bad. It was good. I gave you guys the pros and cons and what to expect from the film.
@@AdamDoesMovies Of course your ticket has nothing to do with the budget and if you enjoyed it, you enjoyed it. I'm just saying that based on your review the things you enjoyed (kinda 90's cheese but fun, right?) is not what they were going for, they actually meant this to be some big "MCU is back baby" "Avengers Team up" kind of big spectacle movie. Hey that fine 4U or anyone else who enjoyed it, my point was the latter
@@ibarf24Come on dude. I don’t know anyone who looked at those trailers and thought it looked like a serious film. It presented itself as a light, fun family movie. I got exactly what I expected.
@@AdamDoesMovies True that dude I agree! Just think that is a Hollywood problem these days (and the audience looking forward) spending $300 mil when the same thing can be done for much less, have the movie actually make money and have them make more. Now the problem for us, they won't make their money back and we will stop getting good quality movies with a decent budget because they will blame US right "Hey Adam liked it, Fabio didn't" But its their fault! I've been watching your channel for a long time, like your reviews and like most of the movies you do (sorry to keep going back to the money) but I see it as a failure IN DIRECTION @ MARVEL that for that much they can't make something most people can enjoy, but I guess with what you stated at the beginning "MCU had been dead for me" you don't really expect nothing from this and is just like a standalone movie.
@@arya-x7xAgreed
Now it's not only one, but you get THREE STRONG.....FEMALE....LEADDDDDDSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!
It's about time.
EVEERY reviewr i have seen have ben saying the same thing its a aweful movie dont seee it , you Are the first i have heard that enjoyed it for what it was
plus KAMALA KHAN does look like she having a good time . another reason im considering checking it out
im gonna give it a look see for sure cant decide between theaters or streaming
Why don’t they reboot X-Men? Storm, Rogue and Jean Grey are some of the most powerful Mutants in ever and then they can do the girl boss thing and it will actually fit with the cannon and be good
Very cool Adam
You are the first fiml critic on youtube who gives this movie some type of hope😮
Or different people have different opinions?
There appear to be a lot of haters who don't like heroines with super powers. But I am wary of a general bias towards women using magic, like witches or sorceresses, instead of science fiction based powers.
I really like your personality and humor…but I’m constantly at odds with your opinions. 😂
Constantly? Wow. I’m impressed you are still hanging on, haha. I can’t listen to people who I constantly disagree with but I appreciate you putting up with me.
That luckily doesn't matter if it's presented in an entertaining way as Adam does. 😉
Dude this movie stunk you either have pretty good taste or really bad ones this is your really bad one
I support brain damaged content creators like this!!
I'm sorry Adam. But Disney can't send you your shill check right now, because they are short on cash. A press invite for none upcoming Marvel movies will have to do. 😜😁😉
Have to get back in their good graces after trashing the living hell out of Ant-Man 3.
@@AdamDoesMovies You're on the right track. 😁😉
Thumbnail has to be clickbait
What do you mean? He actually like the movie so it's not a clickbait
Really enjoyed this movie I thought it connected the series and the movies together really well.
Watching someone get a prostate exam sounds more entertaining to me and I won't even bother with this one for free but to each their own.
Kinda weird to have this opinion about a movie you havent seen but ok
@@owenmenning3878 I don't need to jump into a dumpster to realize how bad that would suck.
@@EddieHenderson92 as someone who wasn't the biggest fan of Captain Marvel, and who hasn't seen Wandavision or Ms Marvel, I actually had a good time with the Marvels. It's far from a dumpster, it's a solid 3/5.
I liked it
Believe it or not, I watch your reviews and the “cottage industry that’s dedicated to hating this crap”.
No progressive person argues that at all dude, christ
True, they don't really argue, its more like a mix of a screaming teenage girl stired in with a D- student explaining concepts from a gender studies class at an unaccredited online community college @@owenmenning3878
You are so brave Adam. STROOONNGGG MALLEEE LEAAAD!!!! (It's about time.)
They have destroyed such beloved characters
How many bucks did they pay you
For me it's an easy skip but I'm glad you enjoyed it.
You havent seen it, so how do you know its a skip lol
@@owenmenning3878 Because I'm currently not that interested in Mcu content. I'd much rather stay home & enjoy myself with shows like Jujutsu Kaisen, Rurouni Kenshin & Spy x family during my freetime.
I'm not interested in this film and won't watch it as long as my arse points downwards, but I appreciate it worked for you. I mean that.
Absolute dog sh*t of a movie… and you’re absolutely hilarious for even praising it 😂😂 you are so funny dude…
Finally saw it on Disney plus today and I found myself enjoying it and chuckling, it wasn’t great but seems like the hate for it was predetermined. Marvel isn’t what it was but this was a solid movie all things considered
Same opinion with me, yes it wasn't an extravagant or cinematic masterpiece, but it's enjoyable
Respects for you to have guts to say you enjoyed the movie, knowing some people will jump and mock you for it.
Had no expectations going in and had a great time. Fun MCU flick!
Glad you enjoyed it❤
I don't trust any username that end in random numbers.
I agree with you. I actually enjoyed it too. It was a fun movie and all the leads acted really well. Definitely better than the Antman trilogy.
It's a C.W. movie, it needs to be on streaming not in cinemas.
4:39 Comic spoilers.
She has the power of a white hole. Which is an Einstein concept.
Its hard to take you serious when you said flash was good and you're top movie is jurassic park lol
Plenty of critics out there
Hey man I don't know if you know this but opinions are subjective.
What's wrong with Jurrasic Park as a favorite movie? What's yours?
Your husband didn't go see this movie with you?
BTW cool review on The Killer, also liked that he SEEMED kinda a fuckup, but it's actually real world stuff/mistakes compared to 007 and MI, but the guy really knows his shit and really would want to mess with!
This movie was garbage,
I will say I can’t stand all the “representation” bs in movies …. I heard how horrible that Captain Marvel was so I didn’t watch it for years… I thought Captain Marvel was actually really good 7/10… Most people don’t care if there is a female lead… it’s when it isn’t creative is what bothers people.
This was one of the more fun marvel movies dropped lately. I hated Captain Marvel’s first movie but this one was solid.
I enjoyed the movie ❤
