The only thing worse than getting rolled in clash is dominating the first two points, then getting run over with ults and losing the game despite never losing a point in your territory and playing with spawn disadvantage the entire time.

What I don't understand about clash is how a gamemode can essentially be designed from the ground up to try and stop rolls, only to be the most one-sided games I've ever played.
I think most of it is players not being used to the mode and feeding their brains out. It should ( hopefully) fix itself in time. Or not, who knows? Overwatch players have the problem solving skills of an unborn fetus.

Idk I've had some funny reversals in the game. Like we'd lose one point and get team-killed. Then we gain a point and still also get team-killed. Sometimes the winning team actually gets half as many elims as the losing side. It becomes WAY more about when you're feeding, than how much you're feeding.

Well, maybe if every game mode wasn't just king of the hill with extra rules, they could actually figure out how to stop that
I'm glad to see the rolling the other team games weren't just me. It's extremely frustrating to lose one point and then basically lose the whole game without being able to recover.

What confuses me is that the queues are long no matter what role I pick, including flex. The queue times don't seem to care if you're a solo or group, so I don't really understanding what's inflating the terrible queue times...
On what mode? I main quickplay usually and run 1-2 min. queues it’s great

I've just been playing QP and have only gotten 1 game under 2 minutes, otherwise they're 4+ minute queues
yeah me and my group of friends have been getting 5 to 10 + min queues in quickplay so bad we went to comp for faster q lol

Same, it seems like it got longer with the update. On patch day it was like 6-7min at least no matter the size of the group and we were all queuing for every role.

My experience with clash: Team's continuously running into the point one by one to contest it and die instantly because you can capture the point WAY too fast
i mean thats just flashpoint except the walk isnt as long
my frustrations with the mode, changes that might help.
1. it feels like there is no time to set up for points or group up for them. maybe change how long it takes for points to unlock.
2. it takes to long to secure the final point on the defensive side. leading to the enemy team having multiple tries to take point or fully set up the next point. shorten the cap time of the final point for the defensive side.
3. whoever caps the middle point spawns on that point. allowing instant control of that center point when/if the opposing team pushes back to the center point. may not need to move the spawn forward till final point. (not sure about this suggestion)
I've seen people set up and group all the time. Had one game where the enemy team actually knew how to play and would poke poke poke, build ult, roll in and cap on repeat. There's a strategy to retreating, and taking points and it's ok to give up 2 or 3 to do it. People just freak out and feed.
who knew they were capable of creating a mode worse than Push. i can see my master teammates not even getting 1 ult until the game is finished. o7 boys

They didn't create. They just copied 5CP from TF2 but made it worse.
Ya know, I kinda don't mind "roll or be rolled" in quick modes like Clash (at least for right now). Getting rolled in 3 mins feels much less worse than being rolled on say Payload.

I have not had a quick game of Clash yet. It seems whether my team rolls or is getting rolled that the other team stops the third cap for the easy win and then makes the game drag on for much longer than it should.

I wish I could turn on and off certain game modes push and clash would be turned off immediately they literally ruined the game for me I hate them
When going to 5v5, they said it's too chaotic and too much information overload. Now we got two gamemodes in which it's essentially one big neverending fight. If constantly being in team fights which vary wildly in the matters of seconds is considered "less information" and "less chaotic", then I want the more "chaotic" format back, with its original maps

@@kingclampz6081 Not a single good gamemode added in overwatch 2 has been good, they should just admit they messed up, delete the gamemode and delete or rework the maps for them and focus on making maps for OW1 gamemodes

Love the use of the Sonic: Unleashed music at the end, my favorite sonic game by a landslide so I love when people use the music from it.
It's really hard to turn the game around here as the enemy team will build up ults to strenghten their advantage even harder while ur just there watching ur team play the game like it's overtime going in one by one
it can be turned around all the time - that just sounds more like a bad team - literally both can happen or not happen.
I dunno what it is, but playing doomfist in clash games is really really fun

For sure, it matches his feast or famine playstyle with how quick he can change the fight in clash
Constant action, little corridors and choke points where you can really effectively use his punch to control space
Ball players I've heard love this gamemode. The maps are really good for ball to contest on. Game ended up lasting 12 mintues.
Bro we lost to this one hamster who would kept coming back in under 10-15 seconds for like 4 or 5 fights in a row
as a decent ball player I can only confirm this. I love the maps and love the mode. Waay more than 2CP. Hope they make my most-hated map from OW1 Volskaya Industries into a Clash map so I can love the new map.

They replaced the gamemode where people hated the defenders being able to “trickle” in and retake the point and instead made a gamemode that the defenders intrinsically “trickle” in and retake the final point! Blizzard.
Not to mention wave spawns make all this literally worse 💀
getting rolled in clash takes like 3 minutes
getting rolled in 2cp while attacking takes the whole match timer
ngl imo the new mode is dogshit. Its either u get rolled or other team gets rolled. The way it plays is even more like a deathmatch than a team fight

The only real problem with clash is playing it 9/10 games. Every other 'complaint' is just people not knowing how to play it.
they seem to have fixed that now. it really was clash every other map at the start, nut yesterday i played 12 matches and only had clash twice.
I’ve had a game where the enemy team got to the last point on our side and was match point but then my team started rolling them and won the whole game most interesting comp game in a minute
In my opinion, if they changed a lot of characters/ rolls. Make the tank more tanky, but take away the massive damage they can do also most of their healing capabilities. This will allow healers to be altered and not destroy the game. Healers should be able to heal more and do a lot less damage. The dps can get big nerfs to healing abilities, and/ or they could become more broken with each unique characters abilities/ play styles. Like a mei that doesn’t do a ton of damage but actually slows the target a lot, genji could because more of a fast pace/ annoying character similar to sombra/ tracer. Limiting tanks and healers to actually be their own role would make the life of overwatch so much better, I think.
Ngl Clash is fun, but the points get capped so dang fast that it’s basically just whoever gets the first pick wins because you win the first point, cap, get ult advantage. Then you go to second point, win the ult fight, cap, and then you have one last teamfight and then panic contesting on last point
In quick play this gamemode is fun. Less walking time just fight into fight.
I want to do my comp placements but I don't want to play the majority of them on the new game mode. I'd prefer to have a variety of maps.
People need to learn the dynamic of this game mode (and as evidenced in the later games here, they already have) and play differently. You can't stall C, but you can A or E depending on your spawn. That means
- don't die! It is important everywhere, but even more important in clash
- save teammates, play heroes who can
- first picks are extremely important
- don't stagger / trickle
- punish stragglers immediately after winning a fight
- chose your battles, don't invest ults into A or E unless you can force a cap, it is much safer to just cap B or D again afterwards
People are learning these rules the hard way. Almost nobody is in VC. It'll take a few days/weeks until most people know what to do - just like it did with flashpoint and push, which also were stomp-heavy when they came out.
absolutely agree. no one fucking knows how to play this yet, so of course the games all go horrible in one way or another. give it a few weeks until people actually know how this works before judging it

New strategies will come up next week. Certain comps will give up / hold certain points.

Yes, I love waiting 15+ minutes in queue to only play for under 3 minutes......honestly should be arcade only.
Idk why it's so steamroll-y in high ranks, but in low ranks it tends to be pretty close, at least from my experience

Huh Clash is just 5cp but they put a way to insure it ends at some point instead of an infinite stalemate as one team locks down last, I think I'll like the mode

i hate the clash gamemode . its either you smash on the other team or your team gets smashed on.
Clash is good but getting the gamemode every other game makes me hate it. Also I don't wanna be that guy but why are we only getting two maps on launch? 4 should be the minimum.

As someone who plays Pokemon Unite, its weird to hear the music thats used for the loading screen at the start of a match be used for like, an epic team fight action sequence.
Dear Devs,
I'd much rather only play KOTH, Hybrid and Payload maps for the rest of eternity, and nothing else.
I think the one sided-ness will be mitigated a little bit once people learn that you need to sometimes give up a point to fall back and defend the next one. If you get greedy and lose a second fight on one point the enemy team will just push on take the next one as well.

Honestly I don’t hate clash, because you either win fast or lose fast. Feels better getting a quick loss versus a loss on a 20 minute payload game
You know I think they at least solved the feeling with the thought process of "if the game feels bad to roll or be rolled at least it's over in 3 minutes." At first I didnt like the mode but of all the modes to have that feeling it's over quick.

Ive had nothing but competitive games in all of the clash games ive played. Im playing right now and it lasted 10 minutes

I hate all these new game modes and maps, it feels like all the strategy and team work has been removed. Its just a random tdm brawl.

Loving it. brings me back to tf2 days playing hydro for hours and hours, letting them take a point just to keep the game going. Ive noticed clash seems to direct players a little better so it makes it feel more like higher level play almost.
I’m like the only one who likes and has fun with clash, and it’s because I’ve had resounding success with Rein on these maps
Have you run into an Orisa? I feel like she gatekeeps Rein even more in this mode.

In push, if you’re getting rolled, the game still takes forever bc it’s limited by the speed of the bot, plus to make a comeback you have to win multiple team fights in a row (like if the enemy has almost capped and you have to walk the bot back to the middle, just to continue to have to win more team fights as your bot pushes so slowly)… yes, you have to win multiple team fights in Clash to make a comeback, but it’s over quickly if you’re getting stomped and it’s more based on getting picks than wombo combo based

clash feels like it has all the old 2 zone cpa modes issues and none of the fun parts
currently (when not matching 4 stacks of cheaters) the meta is let them cap 2 zones, then just roll them to their last point sometimes capping two of final zones blips bringing you to 4 or outright winning, or then let them take back two and roll them again
have had people just let us cap the first two zones to try and do this strat which leads to everyone sitting afk and not touching points and raging at you if you play the game -.-

Came back to overwatch after a 2 year break, immediately steam rolled a team in Clash then got steam rolled back for the next few games, deranked too. Guess my skills weren't as good as they used to be :(
The problem i have is that im constantly stuck in 5+ minute ques to play a 3 minute stomp game. Not fun lol i spend more time waiting to get into a game than i actually do playing it.

Tried some of this clash mode, dunno if its the map remakes or the game play, but it feels like 2CP just extended.

This is basically TF2's 5cp gamemode, only difference is that instead of constantly gaining more and more time EACH time a point is captured, it's best out of five captures to win. So, people that play Overwatch consider yourselves lucky on that, because this gamemode could take forever to finish a single game if it was an exact 1/1 copy of TF2's 5cp gamemode.
Clash needs to last at least 2 rounds to prevent snowballing.
I know its a running joke that we hope this gamemode isnt hated like Push or flashpoint were when first introduced... but this gamemode is awful. Atleast competitively. In QP it still sucks but its fine for QP. In Comp you legit get 1 chance to cap a point and if you or a teammate dies you can never catch up you just stagger the entire game and get rolled. Or it goes back & forth, no inbetween. Does not belong in comp IMO theres zero nuance or strategy to it, lose the first point, stagger to the 2nd point, die, set up for 3rd point because you cant get back to 2nd point in time, get ults dumped on you for the loss, or vice versa.
As someone with experience with the game mode for a little over a decade the maps are just undersized between points making the pacing between fights too small. Otherwise clash is a really good game mode

Probably the worst designed game mode to exist. It’s essentially who can win 5 team fights first. If you die at all you’re already moving onto the next point

it was, yes. but only for like 3 days. rotation is back to normal now.
This gamemode teaches people not to stagger/to group up (some of my teammates still attack the point even though the team is still respawning)
I think that the mode is balanced actually. Almost every ranked game I played, my team got 2 points, then enemy team got 2 points and then it was really close to winning for both teams.
That Juno did not have a good time. And I bet they were blaming their tank for it.
Clash has got to be my favorite game mode so far. Every single game has been a nail bitter, going down to both teams having four points. So much fun
I actually quite like Clash, the biggest thing is just making sure you get picks while your team doesn’t get picked, even more so than gamemodes like KOTH and Flashpoint; I’ve had some really good back-and-forth games too… the reason I enjoy this more than Flashpoint is bc in that mode if you get picked when the enemy has the point at 65%, it feels like such an uphill battle to even get back to the point before they reach 100%, much less have a decent shot at retaking it
The issue is that doesn't matter for the losing team. If someone on the losing team gets picked on last point, it doesn't matter because their spawn is 10 feet away. If someone on the winning team gets picked, that team automatically loses the fight because they're down a person for the next 45 seconds.
The advantage given to the losing team is wayyyy steeper than it should be.
I’m convinced that the whole “2 teams fight to capture a single objective” doesn’t work for this game and they somehow can only think of game modes that involve this idea.
Everyone thought push was ok and sometimes fun when it released and now everyone hates playing that thing and I can already see this being the exact same and the funny thing is that the community didn’t have the same patience that they had with push cause 80% of the player base already hate it.

I feel like I'm the only one who really likes clash. The clash game mode and maps seem to favor rush and dive comps which are my fave comps.

All 3 new gamemodes Blizzard came up with since Overwatch have all the same problem: they have no side switchting. They are basically long extended fights with an constant back and forth.. Either Bot goes back and forth, or the points go back and forth. Thats why ALL THREE gamemodes (Clash, Flashpoint and Push) all feel shit. Just make Escort maps, blizzard! Just NORMAL Escort maps. With a normal side switch attacker and defender.Noone wants those "new gamemodes" because they all have fundamentel design flaws! seriously, i hate all 3 new gamemodes, and it makes me hate the game.
speak for yourself please. there are plenty of people who have absolutely no problem with Flashpoint or push, and it's way too early to judge clash properly. 'Noone wants those' is just complete Bullshit.

That’s not fun, not fun for the winner because the match lasted shorter then the queue for the actual match and it def is not fun for the loser. You know how many times I played clash or Push and the losing team did not have a single elim on the winning team?! As I said: the new game modes are fundamentally flawed because those problems while not the rule still happen to often.

I am perfectly fine with how Push and Flashpoint work, and my personal experience playing them is apparently vastly different from yours. And it's too early to say anything definite about Clash.
