I went from a gt100 (big boy) to this. First day in with my T5z I only used headphones vs plugging into my focus rite interface and it was crazy convenient seeing as you can power it with the included AAs (4) and it’s so light. And has rubber feet so it won’t slip.
Volume seems pretty low though even with input source selected as line out / headphone. But my headphones are also pretty quiet. So that will depend on your headphone quality
I plug mine into a Fender Champion 100 combo amp but instead of using thw combo amp output setting, I use the stack amp output setting which makes the tone sound way better...

can anyone explain me how the L/mono and R/mono works? it seems that the guy in the video used both but only one input was used to be connected on the guitar amp. Where will the other input be connected? thanks
You only need ONE input mate, you dont get true stereo just dual outputs. To get "stereo requires processing of the signal, dividing it up into left and right outputs that are different, not the case here!
Only one channel is Mono. If you want to produce Stereo sound or input stereo you use L and R channels...
@@TheZacdes Not true, 2 outputs go to 2 different amps that can be set up differently giving much broader array of sounds.

I want to buy something like this, but my plan is to play through simple speakers or headphones, with no other guitar gear. Is in the output menu some option for that?

How do you switch between patches in the middle of the song? If I'm on patch 05 and want to go to 10 right before the solo of a song, how does that work?

I know I might be a little late to answer your question, but I thought I would do it anyway, in case you'd come back an see it :-)
If you want to switch between two different patches, then you can do that, but it would be kind of chaotic.. Make use of the assigns instead - that will make the whole switching a lot easier, trust me.
The assigns will basically allow you to control a total of 6 effects or parameters, or a mix of both.
If you have a patch with a clean sound, and then later need a solo boost, then you can assign an overdrive pedal, some delay, etc. for that solo sound, and you can do it within one patch.

How about a "3 cable" method? Plug guitar into the amplifier (cable 1) and then from amplifier fx "send" go into the input on GT-1 (cable 2) and then from mono output on GT-1 into amplifier fx "return" (cable 3)?
Help!!! Can you enlighten me? I have so many questions. Was trying to set up the GT 1 as a gift but I am a carpenter lol (worried I will ruin a family heirloom amp for daughter) setting this up incorrectly
@jamesbuchanan9937 Hi there. Cabling is about as detailed as I can explain in text, but the 3 cable method makes the assumption that you like and are going to use your amplifier "preamp" section to generate "distortion and tone" and would be using your Boss unit to add effects into the "effects loop" of your amplifier. It is done like this because certain effects work and sound better when you introduce them between the preamp and amplifier section.l (i.e. Delay, chorus, EQ).
@jamesbuchanan9937 or use the 1 cable method which is run your Boss into a "clean amplifer" and use your Boss to create your entire tone (i.e. distortion, delay, chorus, EQ). This basically turns your boss into the preamp leaving your amplifier to just amplify the Boss signal. Hope this helps.
@@Vander_berg both are a great help...Don't know why the actual Instruction manual was os hard to find but after a second mental reboot I did find that...had to walk away from it after I wrote the previous reply and I am truly grateful for your answers. ...Then proceeded to go down patch rabbit hole lol just to really scare the shit out of us. Seems like the perfect tool for someone like my daughter who will spend weeks making one song. On behalf of a young musician I tahnk you.

Let me ask! When I am playing electric guitar and listening directly with my Headphone from GT-1, the sounds are perfect and very good; But when I record/play with Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 USB Audio Interface; DAW Cubase 8; The sounds are not good. I can not get the original sounds. Please help me. Thank you

Hey.
Yes, simply by clicking the PREAMP-button on the front. That will turn the PREAMP and CAB sims off - it's as simple as that. :-)

Hello I have a question. I've got GT1 and when I look at it on TH-cam about this effect footbuttons are backlit blue light but my effect dosen't have. Is it damage or I have to change some prestes ? If yes what I heve to do ?? Thanks in advance.
They should light up - take it back before the 45 day return policy.
My unit just burned out on me i only used it 10x. Now in need to send it to boss and they charge you 40 per hr to fix it. And thats with the warranty.

There’s no audio
Who's idea was it to make a tutorial video's with flashing arrows and no actual explanation of what you are doing. Don't you realize how much more difficult it is rather then to just listen to someone explain what there doing while the viewer is trying to do the same thing instead of looking at flashing arrows.I'm surprised you didn't use dancing bears.There are so many things that you could be explaining in the time it takes to do this video that would be so helpful. I thought this was going to be a really easy thing after I saw you had all these video's posted before I bought the unit. Got the unit today and already a big disappointment.
That's funny I exited the video because I wanted to check my speakers , I thought my power cord was unplugged or something.
