Sure I've said this before, but thanks so much for taking the time to do these videos It's been a year since I bought my GT-1, but have concentrated on my actual guitar skills So now I find myself going back over these clips for refresher updates They are an absolute boon, and a little treasure trove of information
Greetings, Damien! Thanks for your comment and kind words - it's very much appreciated! I'm pleased to hear that, and it's great to know the impact my videos have! All the best to you, and Happy New Year! Best wishes. Cheers.
@@tatafiangort5880 - I will add that to the list of videos... But, you should be able to do it yourself. Connect your GT-1, using the USB-cable, and power on the GT-1. Your PC should find, and install, the drivers automatically. Though, make sure to install Adobe Air as well. Go to the Boss Webpage, and find the driver for Boss Tone Studio - you can find that under Updates and Drivers, on the webpage. Have a look for yourself, it should be fairly straight-forward. Have a great day.
Hey there, tsipfi 😊 Thank you for your comment. Indeed, I had a period where I did things like that, and I can clearly see it now.. Thank you for being honest. I'm pleased to hear that you still found the video and its information helpful! Let me know if you need anything else. Best regards & have a great weekend.
also a weird accent and hilarious sound like "ch" from "t" s. i think he believes that 10 min videos are better thats why he talks soooo slow and unnecessary for 10+ minutes. but a good video though.
Hi there, Roger. Thanks for your kind words and comment, I greatly appreciate it. You made a good choice of buying the GT-1. Please do let me know, if you need anything, I'd be happy to assist. Best regards.
Thank you, Emirhan Can! I really appreciate the kind words. I'm glad you found my videos helpful and of use. Let me know if you need anything else. All the best.
Hi! You're very welcome, I'm glad this video was of help! At first it can be quite overwhelming, but once you get a hang of it, you'll be able to produce some superb patches and tones! The GT-1 is a great unit, with so much to offer! Let me know if you need anything, I'd be happy to assist. Best regards.
Hi there, Trevor. Always make sure to save your edits and settings, otherwise they will be lost... Press the Enter and Exit buttons, and save your edits. I'm glad you found the video helpful. All the best. Cheers.
hi.thanks for your videos.you`re doing a superb job.my question is: if a import a factory preset to one of the user patch would i be able to import a complete different factory preset to the same user patch but into the ctl1 ?
Hi there! Thanks for your comment and kind words, I greatly appreciate it. Patches can't be controlled by the CTL1, CTL2 and CTL3. Only effects and parameters can be controlled by the footswitches. You will have to arrange and order the patches how you like them, and then use the UP and DOWN footswitch to scroll between them. I hope this helps. Cheers.
Massive thanks, Was very frustrated with the GT 1 It's a great bit of kit but complicated , I would have took back if it wasn't for your videos . Boss should put you on there payroll
Hey! You are very welcome! I'm glad that I could help you out! Yeah, the GT-1 is amazing! I've had mine since it came out, and I really like it! I use it straight to the PA, using the GT-1's preamps and cabinets - man, that's a killer sound, let me tell you that! Wow, thanks man, that really means a lot to me! Let me know if you need anything - I'll be more than happy to answer questions and help out! Haha yeah, I believe they should ;-) Cheers!
Dude, youre a legend! :) Thanks so much man. I finally get it! I thought my firmware was bugging or something... looks like it was my brain doing all the buggin :P Thanks again champ! 👊👌👍
Hi again! :-) Thanks man, very kind of you! I'm glad that it all worked out! Sometimes it can be easier to actually show it in a video, than write it out :-) But I'm glad that everything is as it should be now, 0001musicman! :-) Hehe, you'll get a hang of it - I know! You're very welcome! Cheers!
Just got my GT1 and am loving it! This video helped me to set my first 7 user settings so I can go from two clean sounds to two heavy patches and finally the echo metal for lead. Not sure if you can insert a patch say between patch 5 and 6 or if you have to start all over to keep them the same. Either way, great video man thanks!
Goodmorning, Graham. Thanks for your comment and question, I greatly appreciate it. Sure, I'm always around, answering questions, don't worry about that. Yes, that's one of the features of the Pedal FX. You can engage the Wah by pushing the Volume all the way forward, until the little LED comes on red. If it's too hard to engage it, then have a look at my EXP pedal Calibration video. I hope this helps. Let me know. All the best.
You are more than welcome, man! Thank you, I truly appreciate it! :-) I'm just pleased to be helping out. Let me know if you need anything else. Have a great weekend! Cheers!
Really helpful video thank you.I was just about to order one of these and have been looking at TH-cam to get some demos etc. Yours was the only video that explained that you can’t overwrite the default patches which would just irritate me every time I turned it on. I’ve never used a modelling amp or fx unit that I didn’t hate 90% plus of the default patches, they always seem to much if you know what I mean. I’m guessing when you power on it defaults to the factory presets ? I’m gutted as it’s just the right size for what I’m looking for, I’d much preferred it to have come with just the user bank which I could have deleted and created my own. Anyway thanks for the info ;)
@Lee Perry - Hi! Thanks for watching the video, I appreciate that! :-) Well, that's right, you can't overwrite the factory presets, but you also have the user presets, where you can tweak, adjust and start from scratch, if you want that. The GT-1 has 99 Factory presets and 99 User presets. That's plenty of room to create your own patches, no worries. The default patches/factory presets are always too much, I feel that too.. I alwas stay away from those, and create my own patches from scratch. That will always give you the absolute best result! The factory presets are mainly there to showcase how extreme the unit can go.. not really all that helpful when you think about it.. Most people are looking for great clean tones, crunch tones and lead tones, so why not put some effort into creating some solid patches like that. I believe that would attract more people to units like these :) No, when you power on you'll start up where you left off. So if you powered off on one of your own patches, in the User section, then the GT-1 will power up at that patch. As simple as that :) Lee, get the GT-1, no doubt about that! You'll be able to see through these points, trust me. The GT-1 will do so many great things for you, and the sounds are fantastic! I use mine direct to the PA, using the onboard preamps and effects, and the sound is killer, I tell ya! Please let me know if you have further questions, I'll be more than happy to help out :-) Cheers!
Thanks, this is very helpful ! Once the user patches are saved, is there another way to scroll through them with the foot pedals (rather than using the knob) like the factory presets ? Have a good one.
Hi there, Thanks for your comment and question, I greatly appreciate it. You can use the UP and DOWN footswitches to toggle between the patches, and then the knob, as you mention yourself, but that's pretty much it, unless you add an external footswitch, like the FS-7, and set it up to do it. I hope this answers your question. All the best. Cheers.
@@j-lt29 - Sure, you're very welcome! Good idea, then you can easily recall them, and toggle between them. You can do it on the unit itself, or in Tone Studio. All the best.
I have not been able to download the "Tone Studio" software from the Boss website. There are drivers and version updates but if I am already up to date and need no additional drivers there doesn't seem to be an intuitive way of just downloading a setup for the interface. It's been driving me crazy because I did it the first time but now I have a different computer and I have not been able to get a copy on to it.
Hello there, Once you connect your GT-1 to your PC, it should install the drivers automatically. Make sure to have Adobe Air installed as well. I hope this helps. Let me know.
Thank you! I didnt know this until this very moment. It freaks me out sometimes when i use the knob 1 to scroll my user patches and suddenly my user patch gone missing and was replaced by the factory patch.
Hi Dave, You're very welcome, I'm glad you found a solution to your issue. There are a lot of new things to learn, and wrap your head around, but you'll get there. Let me know if you need anything, I'd be happy to assist. Cheers.
On the Boss Tone Studio interface there is a library where one can move their patches to store for later use. Can that library be reached from the GT-1 unit itself or is that only reachable with the Tone Studio software? Or can a patch be saved and/or retrieved to or from the library by way of the GT-1 display?
Hello there, Robin! Sorry for the late reply.. The Tone Studio Library can only be accessed when the GT-1 is connected to a PC via USB. The patches saved on the GT-1 are the ones you can scroll through and use, when not connected to a PC. I hope this makes sense. Cheers.
Great video as it lets me see I've been doing things the long way. I've been moving user patches I know I don't like to the start - U01, U02, U03, etc - and then overwriting them with my own settings to make sure I don't overwrite the user presets I like. But now that I know I can import any preset from the Factory Preset side, I now realise I can go ahead and overwrite any if not all presets on the user side and then import presets from the Factory Preset side as required. Fwiw, I know I can restore overwritten User Presets, but importing from the Factory Preset side is much simpler. In fact, if I could wipe all User Presets in one go and then import only the ones I like from the Factory Preset side, I would. Have you kept any factory presets on the user side, and if so which ones? Thanks, Derek
Thanks, I'm glad you found my video useful! Indeed, it's great to be able to move patches around, and store them as you like. The same can be done in Boss Tone Studio for GT-1. It's a Drag&Drop solution, and it's pretty easy. I've kept a few of the Factory Presets, yes, but most of them are rubbish, to be honest.. I think I kept the Natural Clean preset, Divid Organ Tone and Retro Tremolo. I have re-adjusted some of the parameters, but they're pretty good as is.
@@GuitarNTabs Yeah, the Divid Organ Tone is nice! I spent a few hours going through each factory preset today to see which tones work best with my strat and which tones work best with my SG; I'll do the same with my bass guitar tomorrow just in case some preset tones are a good match. I reckon I'll end up keeping about 10 presets - including some tones that are more effects than tones, like the Divid Organ Tone - plus a handful of my own patches. Fwiw, I bought the FS-7 footswitch as per your recommendation - I think Boss should give you commission as I'm sure I'm not the first person to follow your lead, as it were :)
@@djwindhoek - Hi! Seems like a good way to approach it. A few of the Factory Presets are okay, but making your own is key! Sounds good, keep it up! Haha, you're too kind, thank you! I surely wouldn't mind that, buuuut, hasn't happened, yet... Come on, Boss, I'm right here 😉 Let me know if you need anything else.
My eyesight is crap and I notice your Patch Names are very big in the display window, which obviously I would want for myself. But I go to 'Display' and all it gives me is a 'Contrast' option and nothing else
Hi there, Tom. Thanks for your comment and question, I appreciate it. You can overwrite the existing patches, by Initializing them. It will completely erase what's on the patch(es). You find the Initialize option in the Write menu, by pressing the Enter and Exit buttons at the same time. You can Initialize the remaining patches, if you don't need them, or you can arrange your patches, so you have them in order and next to each other. That's easily done in Tone Studio. I hope this helps - if not, then please let me know. All the best. Cheers.
@@GuitarNTabs Thank you so much for the reply! I will try that out! Thanks to your videos i have learnt to create my own patches and arrange them! Thank you so much!

Hi. Thanks for the helpful videos. Is it possible to set the + 10 or +20 functions so they toggle on and off, instead of having to hold CTL 1 down? When I try to assign that function it doesn't seem to have a TOGGLE or MOMENTARY option. Thanks
Hey Stephen! Thanks for your question! I really appreciate it! I've been looking at that function too, but it's not possible to assign it to be either Toggle or Momentary... Sadly enough... When pressing the switch it's assigned too, I can only get it to increase the function, not take it back down.. Hope this helps. Cheers!
Thinking of getting this unit. This video is most helpful but i still am not clear on how easy it is to access your user setting while gigging?I have used a digitech rp1 for 20 years plus and it has 7 patches per bank that you just tap and there you go.I still dont get these smaller effects units from a live gigging perspective
Hi there, Jimmy. I'm very sorry for the late reply, I've been behind on answering comments... It's pretty easy to access the user settings, simply by pressing the Effect button, and holding it/them down for a short while. The Signal Chain can also be entered, with one press of a button. I've had no issues adjust and changing things on the fly. I gig with this, all the time, and it has never let me down! It has opened up a great deal of possibilities! I hope this helps, even though my reply is late... Cheers.
Hello. Thanks for your comment and request. I sadly don't own any of the two... Have a look at the GT-100 or GT-1 - they are excellent! Cheers & Merry Christmas 🎄
Hi can you access the user presets easy enough on a live gig through the stompbox style foot buttons? Also would you recomend this unit for an acoustic guitar set? As i mostly will need to flick between reverb and delay sounding patches as easy as possible Cheers
@@jhendrickshendrix - Hey there. Sorry for my late reply - I appreciate your comment and question 😊 The user patches are easy to access, no problem. Especially if you put them in order. The UP and DOWN-footswitches will quickly take you up a patch or down a patch. Sure, the GT-1 can be used with an acoustic guitar as well. It all really depends on how you set it up, and plan on using it. What will your set-up be? Knowing that will help me provide a more detailed answer. Looking forward to hear from you. Cheers.

Yes, simply connect the GT-1 to your PC via USB. I don't see why you would want to use Bias FX along with the GT-1? The GT-1 has all the effects and preamp/speaker types you would want.

Hey again, Alex :-) Thanks for watching, and thanks for your question. I would go for the GT-100, no doubt about that! I also own the new Boss GT-1, which is basically the GT-100 in a smaller format :-) I would go for either the GT-100 or the GT-1. The GT-1 is great for home use and it's in a nice size and compact format! Let me know what you think. Cheers.
Hey there, Draiver. Thanks for your comment and question - I appreciate it! Yes, sure there is! 😊 If you use Boss Tone Studio, then you'll be able to save and export your patches, then save them in any particular folder on your computer. You can also organize your patches on the GT-1 itself, simply by moving them around and saving them to different spots, so they'll end up being in order, coming right after each other. Is this what you're looking for? Let me know what you think - I'd be happy to help out further. Have an excellent day Cheers.
Hi there, Leandro. Thanks for your comment and question. Yes, you can. You have the dedicated Delay block on the GT-1, then you also have Sub Delay in both the FX1 and FX2. Then, if you need a fourth delay, then the Reverb can be set to Delay as well, if you scroll through the different Reverb options. The last option is Delay. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else. Have a great day.
As you said in your 1st. video if your plugging directly in front of an amp which you say most people will and by saying "if you do this method you should turn off the pre amp" then please turn it off so its not confusing if this is the hook up method your referencing in your tutorials because one might look at just one video and think that has to be on when in another video you said it should be off.

@@GuitarNTabs on the left hand side of the GT-1 Easy Edit/Select, by pressing Select it is possible to have different preset lists. Knob 1 selects "Effect, Drive, or Genre." Selecting "Genre" then Knob 2 can select a category, such as User 1, 2, or 3, or "Blues" where all the Blues Genre patches preset in the GT-1 are. The Patches are from the list 1 through 100 but only Blues Genre , to scroll through the list in that Catagory Knob 3 is Used. My question is, is it possible to assign the scrolling function of Knob 3, to foot switches, to scroll the Catagory Patch Menus in Easy Edit/Select
@@johnmcminn9455 - I think I understand... I don't believe you can set up assigns for the Easy Edit, in fact, I know you can't. Best way would be to save your patches in the desired genre and then locate the patches in order, so you can easily use the UP and DOWN footswitches, to navigate through and to them. I hope that makes sense. Cheers.
@@GuitarNTabs HI, thanks for the response. So I will need to make a category list in the User Patch U1-U100 to scroll with the foot switches, I think that's what you're saying?
@@johnmcminn9455 - My pleasure. You don't necessarily need to make a category list, simply save the patches in your desired order. By default that's probably going into USER1, and that's fine. Yes, that's correct. I hope that makes sense. Cheers.
Please! How can Assign on pedal the hold (freeze) function...?...other: When Assigning OD/DS without FX1 on CT1 it takes parameters that I stablished in Twin clean like Chorus, Delay etc....I don not want to have in CT1 any modulated parameter...
Hi. I've seen your other message, regarding the freeze function, and I'm looking into it, so I will be back with a reply for you, later today. If you don't want any modulation on the CTL1, then simply turn the effect off, or assign it to be turned off, if you have it on already. If you have your clean patch, and you have chorus and delay on that, and you then want to activate an OD/DS, then set up and assigns to turn off the chorus and delay. That should do it. I hope it makes sense :-) Cheers!
Can i create a bank? Like.... My favourite effects in a order...like Acoustic(clean), metal, tremelo etc..so that i can change easily my effect in live show?
Hey there - great question! Yes, you can do that. You will have to save those patches in patches after each other. For example, slot 45 is acoustic, slot 46 is metal, slot 47 is tremolo, etc. That would be the way to do it. Do you follow? Let me know - thanks.
Hey there & Happy New Year! Sorry for the late reply... You can import patches from Boss Tone Central, as well as patches from other GT-100 users/players. The file-format for the GT-100 is .tsl You need Boss Tone Studio to import and export patches. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else. Best regards.
hi there. i too need help with what Ismael asked about. i have songs with various changes often go8ng back to the original effects. i could start with Comp/Dist/Wah, then need OD/Phaser/then back to the first settings. how is this done. Having just 3 swirches in Stomp mode is also limiting unless you can assign to each stompbox/switch more then one effect. does this make sense?
Hey there, Ren Ato. Thanks for your comment and your question. I'll do my very best to help you out, so here we go :-) First off all, the GT-1 doesn't really have a dedicated Stompbox Mode, but you can do something similar, but without being able to assign multiple effects to the 3 onboard footswitches. You can only change the UP, DOWN and CTL1, on the Stompbox Mode, to 1 effect per footswitch. Using the GT-1 in its original mode - Patch/Preset Mode - will allow you to make use of the 6 available assigns, which can do what you're looking/asking for. If you wish to use your GT-1 in Stompbox Mode, then I would highly recommend that you buy the Boss FS-7 footswitch, which will give you two extra footswitches - which can both be used in Patch/Preset Mode and Stompbox Mode. Anyway, I just wanted to clear that up, eliminating any confusion, so lets move on. In order to do what you're looking for, you'll have get that particular patch set up correctly. You say that you want to start out with Comp/Dist/Wah - then start by setting the patch up with those effects activated. Then, when you need to change to the second line of effects, then you will have to make use of the 6 available assigns. Press the MEMORY-EDIT button and head to the CT1-icon. Press ENTER. You are now in the CLT1-footswitch menu, ready to activate an assign, in order to get the second line of effects you're looking for. I would start by setting the first assign on the CTL1 to turn on the Phaser on, that way the CTL-1 light will be red, when it's activated - which is an easy indication. Then I would set up assign number two - the change from the distortion to the overdrive. To do that you need to press the MEMORY-EDIT button again and this time scroll to the first available assign (A1). Press ENTER. Now you need to turn the assign ON, make sure that the SOURCE MODE is set to the corresponding CTL-footswitch - in this case CTL1. Press ENTER to get to the next assign page, here you should select OD/DS as your TARGET SOURCE and in the TARGET CATEGORY you should change it from ON/OFF to TYPE. The MINIMUM TARGET is the distortion you already have on - so find and select that one - then set the MAXIMUM TARGET to the overdrive you wish to change to. Now, when you press the CTL1 switch, then Phaser and Overdrive should be activated and changed. When you press the CTL again, it will take you back to the Comp/Dist/Wah effects. Try it out, i know it might sound confusing, but take your time and see what happens! Let me know how it goes, and please come back if you have any trouble! We can easily make this work! Thanks & Cheers!
Hey there. Thanks for the comment and question - I appreciate it! Saving a Factory patch, to a User patch location, will not overwrite the Factory patch. It will overwrite the patch on the location you choose to save the Factory patch. Factory patches, labeled with a P, can be edited, but not saved. That's why we have to save it to another location - in the U (User patch) section. If you edit a patch, and want to save the changes, then the patch has to be on a U (User) patch location. Let me know if this makes sense. Cheers.
Hey there, Victor Law 😊 Thank you for your comment and question, I appreciate it. Yes, you can save the volume level of a patch, when using the User patches, then have different levels for other patches. Remember, the "U" stands for User and the "P" stands for Preset = Factory Preset. All the patches with "U" in front can be edited and saved. The Factory Presets can only be edited, but not saved. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else - I'm here to help out. Thanks & have a great day Cheers.
Good video but why don't you play a little so that we have an idea of the sound? And why don't u use the P99 preset and save it as U40 ? Anyway thanks for this upload.
Hey there, Zenmaster 😊 Thanks - I appreciate it. Well, I could've done that, but I mainly wanted to show this, as many people requested it - that's the main reason. Don't worry, I'll record some sound samples, when I get some more freetime. There's a difference between the patches with the "U" in front, and the "P" in front. The "U" stands for User patches and the "P" stands for Preset, as in Factory Preset. The Factory Presets can only be edited, but the changes can't be saved - so that would defeat my purpose here. Though, the patches can still be moved, if you wish to do that, but I just went with what I had set up. Let me know if you need anything. Have a nice day Cheers.
Hey there, Alex. Just to be sure... Is that a question or a statement?? Doing a Factory Reset shouldn't erase the latest firmware.. Here's how to tell the Firmware version: "How to tell the version Please check the version of the system working on your GT-1 before downloading the archive file. Hold down the [ ENTER ] button and connect a cable to the INPUT jack to turn on the power. The current version is shown on the display. Disconnect the cable to turn off the power. * Don't perform the update if the product is already up-to-date." I hope this helps - if not, then please let me know. Thanks & Cheers,
Hi there, Marc and Merry Christmas. The patches displayed with a "P" are the Factory Presets and the once displayed with a "U" are the User Presets. The User Presets can be edited, changed and saved. The Factory Presets can only be edited, but not saved or changed. However, if you like one of the Factory Presets, you can move and save it to a User Preset location, and change and edit it that way. I hope this makes sense. Let me know. Merry Christmas.
The CTL1 is used for assigning and controlling effects and parameters. For example, if you want to activate an overdrive pedal, and perhaps a delay effect, then the CTL1 will allow you to do that, by using the assigns. It's smart, and it's really handy! Cheers.
Hi there, Phillip Dillon :-) Thanks for watching! Yeah, I did that on half of the User patches, just so I have a clean slate to start out on, when I create new patches. Hi there, La Mar Derrell Taylor. You can delete a User Patch by Initializing it. You find that option, when pressing the Enter and Exit buttons at the same time. This will let you enter the Write Menu, where you find the "Initialize" option. This will erase the patch, and its settings. I hope this helps. Best regards.
Yeeeah, I know.. It's been mentioned before, and I'm not proud of it, but I can't redo it, atleast not at the moment.. I've learned from it - thank you 🎸
That’s a very immature and inconsiderate thing to say. Plus, it sounds nothing like what you described. I can’t even imagine why you would say that to someone. Even if you are very young, being considerate, thoughtful, and empathetic, are things one should have learned as a child.
You need to redo that video man that was kind of lame you know it took you so long to get to the point here you know I can tell you this is the first time you tried to do the video you need to go back and redo it so that it’s like five minutes at most you don’t have to do you keep repeating yourself a lot which is really annoying for somebody who’s frustrated already with this device.
Hi there, Panagranit. Thanks for your opinion, I appreciate it. Most of my first ever GT-1 videos are getting quite old, that's correct. @@GuitarNTabs hi, can u make a video on how to get boss tone studio software downloaded on my laptop? 😢

Have a great day.

hi.thanks for your videos.you`re doing a superb job.my question is: if a import a factory preset to one of the user patch would i be able to import a complete different factory preset to the same user patch but into the ctl1 ?

@@GuitarNTabs what is your email pls?
@@RobFoenanderMusic - Hello,
You can find my email under my information tab, on my TH-cam Channel.
Thanks.
@Lee Perry - Hi!
Thanks for watching the video, I appreciate that! :-)
Well, that's right, you can't overwrite the factory presets, but you also have the user presets, where you can tweak, adjust and start from scratch, if you want that.
I believe that would attract more people to units like these :)
No, when you power on you'll start up where you left off. So if you powered off on one of your own patches, in the User section, then the GT-1 will power up at that patch. As simple as that :)
Lee, get the GT-1, no doubt about that! You'll be able to see through these points, trust me.
The GT-1 will do so many great things for you, and the sounds are fantastic!
I use mine direct to the PA, using the onboard preamps and effects, and the sound is killer, I tell ya!
Please let me know if you have further questions, I'll be more than happy to help out :-)
Cheers!
Thanks, this is very helpful ! Once the user patches are saved, is there another way to scroll through them with the foot pedals (rather than using the knob) like the factory presets ? Have a good one.
Hi there,
Thanks for your comment and question, I greatly appreciate it.
You can use the UP and DOWN footswitches to toggle between the patches, and then the knob, as you mention yourself, but that's pretty much it, unless you add an external footswitch, like the FS-7, and set it up to do it. I hope this answers your question.
All the best.
Cheers.
@@GuitarNTabs Thanks again. Good to know. Then I'll sort the user patches in the sequence that I need. Cheers !
Hello there,
Once you connect your GT-1 to your PC, it should install the drivers automatically.
Make sure to have Adobe Air installed as well.

I didnt know this until this very moment. It freaks me out sometimes when i use the knob 1 to scroll my user patches and suddenly my user patch gone missing and was replaced by the factory patch.

That's the way to get it - it's great! Especially for larger and darker venues!

Can we not delete the existing presets? I mean i don't need the 99 presets and it is a huge hassle to be scrolling through them :S

Yes, sure there is! 😊
If you use Boss Tone Studio, then you'll be able to save and export your patches, then save them in any particular folder on your computer.
You can also organize your patches on the GT-1 itself, simply by moving them around and saving them to different spots, so they'll end up being in order, coming right after each other.

Yes, you can. You have the dedicated Delay block on the GT-1, then you also have Sub Delay in both the FX1 and FX2.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean?
Can you explain it a little further?

@@GuitarNTabs on the left hand side of the GT-1 Easy Edit/Select, by pressing Select it is possible to have different preset lists.
Knob 1 selects "Effect, Drive, or Genre."
Selecting "Genre" then Knob 2 can select a category, such as User 1, 2, or 3, or "Blues" where all the Blues Genre patches preset in the GT-1 are.
The Patches are from the list 1 through 100 but only Blues Genre , to scroll through the list in that Catagory Knob 3 is Used.
My question is, is it possible to assign the scrolling function of Knob 3,
to foot switches, to scroll the Catagory Patch Menus in Easy Edit/Select
@@johnmcminn9455 - I think I understand... I don't believe you can set up assigns for the Easy Edit, in fact, I know you can't.
Best way would be to save your patches in the desired genre and then locate the patches in order, so you can easily use the UP and DOWN footswitches, to navigate through and to them.
I hope that makes sense.

@@johnmcminn9455 - My pleasure.
You don't necessarily need to make a category list, simply save the patches in your desired order. By default that's probably going into USER1, and that's fine.
Yes, that's correct.

I hope it makes sense :-)

Can i create a bank? Like.... My favourite effects in a order...like Acoustic(clean), metal, tremelo etc..so that i can change easily my effect in live show?
Hey there - great question!
Yes, you can do that. You will have to save those patches in patches after each other.

hi there. i too need help with what Ismael asked about. i have songs with various changes often go8ng back to the original effects. i could start with Comp/Dist/Wah, then need OD/Phaser/then back to the first settings. how is this done. Having just 3 swirches in Stomp mode is also limiting unless you can assign to each stompbox/switch more then one effect. does this make sense?
Hey there, Ren Ato.
Thanks for your comment and your question.
I'll do my very best to help you out, so here we go :-)
First off all, the GT-1 doesn't really have a dedicated Stompbox Mode, but you can do something similar, but without being able to assign multiple effects to the 3 onboard footswitches.

Hi there, James.
Sorry for the late reply, but thank you for your comment.
Hmm, I'm sorry to hear that - did you return it, or?
All the best.
@@GuitarNTabs i sent it to boss and they repaired it for me free!

Does this Overwrite the Factory patch? what if I edit a patch and want to make it my own?
Cheers.
GuitarNTabs ok thanks
I’m getting this unit next week
@@robmlisanti - Fantastic - I'm pleased to hear that!
I'm sure you're gonna love it!
Let me know if there's anything I can do.

GuitarNTabs thank you 😊
Can I save the volume level of a patch in the U as well?
Thanks in advance.
Hey there, Victor Law 😊
Thank you for your comment and question, I appreciate it.
Thanks & have a great day
Cheers.
Thank you very much.
Good video but why don't you play a little so that we have an idea of the sound? And why don't u use the P99 preset and save it as U40 ? Anyway thanks for this upload.
Hey there, Zenmaster 😊
Thanks - I appreciate it.
Have a nice day
Cheers.
Yes.. I found it.. TQ TQ TQ
I'm pleased to hear that, Sebastian!
Have you been looking for a long time, or? 😜
You're very welcome, anytime!
Enjoy and cheers!
Why my tone disappeared after shutting down or changing others tone?
If you didn't save your adjustments, then they will disappear omce you change patch or shut down.
Tq sir for sharing
You're very welcome, no problem!
Rock on and enjoy!
Awesome!

How to do a drop a step down (ex. drop D) from the pitch shift with standart tunning?
Hi there!
Sorry, I can't tell you how to do that.. I've never done it before..
Perhaps some other people here on TH-cam will know how to??

Tnx for the info.. but next trime justdirect to the point and the procedure..
When i reset FActory Presets...i lost the last update firmware?????????
Hey there, Alex.
Just to be sure... Is that a question or a statement??
Doing a Factory Reset shouldn't erase the latest firmware..
Here's how to tell the Firmware version:
"How to tell the version
Please check the version of the system working on your GT-1 before downloading the archive file.
Hold down the [ ENTER ] button and connect a cable to the INPUT jack to turn on the power.
The current version is shown on the display.
Disconnect the cable to turn off the power.
* Don't perform the update if the product is already up-to-date."
I hope this helps - if not, then please let me know.
Thanks & Cheers,
why do some presets have a V and not P
Hi there, Marc and Merry Christmas.
The patches displayed with a "P" are the Factory Presets and the once displayed with a "U" are the User Presets.
The User Presets can be edited, changed and saved. The Factory Presets can only be edited, but not saved or changed.
However, if you like one of the Factory Presets, you can move and save it to a User Preset location, and change and edit it that way.
I hope this makes sense.
Let me know.
Merry Christmas.
What is the usenof CTL1 ?
The CTL1 is used for assigning and controlling effects and parameters. For example, if you want to activate an overdrive pedal, and perhaps a delay effect, then the CTL1 will allow you to do that, by using the assigns. It's smart, and it's really handy!
Cheers.
@@GuitarNTabs very helpful :)
i made a blank patch then copied to all user patches as a first part of setting up my unit. not my first multi unit
Hi there, Phillip Dillon :-)
Thanks for watching!
Yeah, I did that on half of the User patches, just so I have a clean slate to start out on, when I create new patches.
It's all much easier that way - and it's easy!
It's nice when you've been using multi effects for a while, then you know more and more about them and it all help out!
Cheers, mate! :-)
I was confused but now I can see...................

Can I use this info with the GT 1B?
Same principle applies, so you should.

How did you Erase user Patch U1-U99?
Press both the EXIT & ENTER-button. This will take you to the WRITE-MENU.
From there, just scroll till you see INITIALIZE. Press ENTER, and the patch should be initialized.
When a patch is initialized, only the Preamp block will light up :-)
Hope this helps! :-)
Can i have the download link of the boss GT1 app...
No need to, simply go to Boss' webpage and find the installer for Boss Tone Studio.
I hope this helps.

How do I delete a user patch
Hi there, La Mar Derrell Taylor.
You can delete a User Patch by Initializing it. You find that option, when pressing the Enter and Exit buttons at the same time. This will let you enter the Write Menu, where you find the "Initialize" option. This will erase the patch, and its settings.
I hope this helps.
Best regards.

Those ems are funny...you are making fun of Carl on slingblade.
@@heyjarrod oh I was teasing him man. It was a joke. I wasn't being malicious. Stop being sensitive
But thanks anyway I was able to reprogram my GT one.
Hi there, Panagranit.
Thanks for your opinion, I appreciate it.
Most of my first ever GT-1 videos are getting quite old, that's correct. I already have new and updated versions in mind, just awaiting recording, and time.
I'm sorry to hear that you're frustrated with the GT-1, I'm sure we can work it out, and get it to suit your application.
