His voice in this era was so good. Really explored his range, experimented with different phrasing, and reimagined his hits from a few years before. He was the best.
Say what you want, Bowie unlike most junkies rode the wave and did some seriously amazing work in his dark days. Station to Station particularly is a fucking masterpiece. Not to mention he got out and made Low and Heroes when time started running out. Bowie never stopped reinventing and innovating, its pretty amazing.
I am sooo happy you found&posted this. I remember enjoying my sugar so much at some guy's house get-together that i told him i only liked one pink floyd song( besides album mettle) , " money" of course. He played it four times before i told him, "arent you gonna play it?" & he exclaimed "Again?" I hadn't heard a word. It's so cool watching my favourite Bowie incarnation as messed up as ive been. Beautiful. The music god had his flaws,& he owned 'em. Even if in his new york middle days he was an elitist movie star. But i still cry at his last album, & most of sound&vision. This is wonderful....- bb&B 💙🎶💙
The side effects of the cocaine give you weak (very weak) magical powers. A few tabs of acid give you a level 1 spell slot but usually your too confused and sometimes cast spells on yourself
These are scence from the famous "Vancouver rehearsals" , available as a bootleg already in the 80s. They are not from a concert, as some people seem to think.
C'est agréable de pouvoir accéder à des répétitions. C'est toujours ce que je préférais dans les tours : les répét!C'était là ou on se marrait le plus tout en faisant le job avec le plus grand sérieux. Merci pour cette vidéo.
Drugs aside, he'd also probably figured out that most of the concert gone to shit , so he took permission to joke a little ( 12:39 ). he was truly ironic, just watch at 14:49
Does anyone know who's playing lead guitar with the Big hairdoo? That is Stacey Heydon! I personally know him and he is the best guitarist that ever performed with Bowie!
I think it's the side effects of the cocaine 🤣

And he started with Lodger. The 'orphan' of his Berlin phase.

Just a something he would later recount about the Station to Station era @@akitatrips

When I did Stacey Heydona plumbing he gave me his personal guitar and signed it!
Ohhhh Bowie!!!!
Sorry but Mick Ronson is
Bowie out his face on cocaine straight of the boat pure coke could still put on a better gig than alot of modern acts that are sober
he definitely seems more drunk than coked up ngl but could be both
I want him so bad
Even when he’s on cocaine? But understandable.
More like Thin White Dad when he dances.

hahaha that’s what I’m a have to call it from now on 😂
I just love how the audience was probably thinking: “how coked up can he be?”
Well no audience for this as it's a sound check/rehearsal for the evening show.
Naughty naughty naughty 🥰

how you can function on coke like he did is bonkers.
Is Tony Kaye the keyboard player?

Is he really messed up before the show or is he just goofing around?
What year is this from?

everything was funny until the "drifting into my solitude" 💔
This is almost certainly a dress rehearsal. Clowning like this is not part of any show.
