I love all your videos so far! The individuals story that is so often overlooked. You tell it beautifully and your audio choice only adds more emotion 😌
Garro's sword Libertas easily has one of the coolest theories behind it implying that he might actually be a descendent of King Arthur, and that Libertas itself was actually Excalibur.
Nathaniel Garro is for me one of the greatest heroes of the Horus heresy. His steadfastness as well as his religious doubts make him for me one of the greatest heroes of the Horus heresy. Great video, as always.
He didn't betray the Imperium, druring the Heresy he stayed loyal to the Emperium along with a few Space Marines of the 14 Legion defying Mortarion to his face
The story of Nathaniel Garro raises a interesting point that we would never considered about the cultural clashes between space marines of the same legion due to their primarch. When a Primarch was found the emperor would give them command of their legions to mold in any way they saw fit however these marines originally came from terra would had developed their own tactics and traditions only to have that all thrown out on a whim once their gene father returned. It seems 9/10 once this was done the Terran born marines would be sidelined their numbers replaced by new marines from the primarchs home world leaving them to eventually die out their honors and past actions forgotten the expectation would be the Salamanders.
Especially with the advent of the Lodges. The original marines who areoyal to the Emperor were always discluded from the lodges.. and as we know, the lodges were tainted by Chaos. The Traitors knew the Terran recruits were loyal to the Imperium and their loyalty to their father was second to that of the Emperor.
well that seemed to be the way with the Nightlords when it came to any officers they had who were not from nostromo. even one of the raptor cult once called one of the ship officers "not pure" because he wasnt from their dead world
Got into 40k this year. Reading the Horus heresy from the start and just finished the flight of the Eisenstein. What a great book! Garro is by far one of my favorite Marines
Garro and tarvitz realtionship was a bit more complex than how you have stated they where battle brothers, they had a blood pact and had marked each others armour, if I remember it right
Nah, you're right. What's why Tarvitz told Garro what was going on before heading to the surface of Istvann. Garro almost shot him down for defying orders and he trusted his friend over duty and was vindicated.
There's a Theory (GW even hinted at it!) That Garro's Sword Is, in Reality, The Mighty EXCALIBUR! Garro was born on Holy Terra, in the lands of Albion, Which is In ANCIENT times to present, Was qhat the Britons called that Mysterious land. And King Arthur Said that he would return when his subjects and Humanity needed him the most when the most dire of evil was knocking down Britain's door he would return and 40K is pretty damn dire LOL
I think the emperor not only was jesus, and alexander the great, but also king arthur. If King arthur is Nathaniel Garro’s distant ancestor by about 31,000 years then possibly the emperor is his ancestor which would be gnarly as fuck.
Good stuff man! I just listened to the "Errant Knights" audio book which is an excellent collection of Garro and Black Sheild stories. Anyway, subscribed 👍
if Garro travelled to Terra to tell the big E about Horus, why didn't Magnus the Red just do the same thing? He had plenty of time after the Temple of the Serpent stuff happened on Davin. Was he so impatient that he happily risked pissing off the Emp by using his powers, lol. Great video btw!!!👍
Magnus was arrogant and resentful of the decree of the council of Nacia. After confronting Horus and Erebus in the warp and learning of their treachery he was desperate to prove his loyalty to the Emperor and inform him of the Heresy. However, he also wanted to prove his mastery of the warp and show that the banning of psykers in the legions was wrong. Again, he was arrogant and desperate. So desperate that he sacrificed like 100 people to enact the ritual to communicate with the Emperor in the fastest way possible. The one part that confuses me in the lore is that Magnus was in contact with the Emperor even before his arrival on Prospero. So why did his ritual destroy the Webway portal on Terra and open it to the warp and why did he need to sacrifice people for the ritual to work?
@@borisdorofeev5602 Ive not yet read A Thousand Sons & Prospero Burns part of HH (getting close), but hadnt the warp storms already started when Magnus did the ritual? So his normal way of getting to the Emp was blocked & he had to make the deal with Tzeentch to open the portal? I like your explanation of why he chose the shortcut. I can see how someone that arrogant would want to show off how useful his skills would be in an emergency.
It would be really cool if a unit of loyalist Death Guard survived the Heresy. They would reclaim the old moniker of Dusk Raiders and extol Garro as Honorary First Chapter Master. Every successive Chapter Master would inherit their one and only relic: The Sword of Garro. It would have the unique trait: Straight Arrow, giving increased chance to hit (accuracy) and it cannot be touched by Chaos. If something warp tainted touches the sword, it basically is flash boiled.
Would be awesome on tabletop But unfortunatly GW wouldnt do it. Id love to see some a Lunar Wolves Chapter as well With Lokan as the honorary Chapter Master
Can't wait for you to blow up. I think maybe a smidge higher quality audio would be great, but it's not a deal breaker. You'll see success just as it is, your stuff is really good. I kinda have a thing for finding great 40k channels under 1k subs, and knowing if they'll make it or not. You got the goods.
Best part is that Rogal "Moron" Dorn tried to kill that guy for saying the obvious truth. Dorn is the worst Primach, not worth any of the prizes he received.
What if all theories about his Future are true: he may have been leading a Dusk raiders revival chapter and used it to search for a cure for nurgles rot. One day he and his chapter got infected with the rot. So he repented his sins and rejoined with his Primarch and finaly became one of the cool guys and restored his honor.

The stories of The Imperium’s finest warriors deserve to be retold.
Garro: Are you _blind?_
Rogal Dorn: WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?!?
Garro: I asked if you were blind, Lord, for I fear you must be.

Garro' must have adamantium balls to say that to the Emperor's own fist...
