  • The Water Chestnut is an edible aquatic vegetable that is high in nutrients and fibre, but low in calories. I received a handful as a gift some time back and since I had an old bathtub lying around that was just breeding mosquitoes I decided to make use of it. Initially only about 3 of the 10-odd chestnuts that I planted sprouted, but we left them in the water and one day when I walked past the tub, I noticed hundreds of little green shoots had come up. I added a little bit of organic fertilizer and ended up with a whole bunch of plants.
Next video will be about the harvest and trying them out in a recipe for the first time.

Clay is a great idea. If it seals dams.... Over time the finer particles will draw down into the larger gaps and seal it near 100%
Love the solution. That bath would make a good clay-kiln heated tub thing.
