    I cannot say enough good things about your videos. I learn so much from every single video the Pangolin team puts out. I have learned more from your videos than I have from three photography courses I have taken. Thank you! I hope to join you on a photo safari one day!!!

    Wood duck shooter here, woooohooooo! I’m on TH-cam, hi mom! Thank you for the tips Janine! One other option for blurring the background would be to just squint a bit while looking at the image 😝

    Great tips Janine!
    When I’m editing my wildlife photos I always look for things I missed or could have set up differently.
    It helps you remember not to make the same mistakes twice, but sometimes as far as backgrounds go,
    You just have to deal with it the best you can.
    I like these videos where you critique photos, I like to pause the video and see if I
    come up with the same observations before I find out what you notice.
    Love the new hair color! 👍

    Hi Janine, what should we write in the description of a competition entry image? Should we write about the poetry of the moment, or keep it short sweet, and direct?

    How many times do a person or a pro wildlife photographer has the opportunity to take that perfect shot maybe one in 500 times, the main object is to get the shot. Yes we all know that this should be done like you say but what is the most important . The shot maybe you don't have a 600mm lens with you. And you are unable to get closer to the subject to compose it better for whatever reason that crops up. Great video but things don't always work out the way we want them to.

    • @PangolinWildlife
      @PangolinWildlife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I totally agree... very rarely. Believe me, being out in the field on a daily basis I know all too well... but if we don't look at our images we will never learn from them and maybe improve for the next time... the immediate feedback that digital and mirrorless cameras provide us is such a great teacher... cheers Janine

    Really good points there, Janine! 👍
    First learn and follow the "rules" to get the professional touch and technical proficiency, then break them to get the artistic approach and make your work a work of art.

    While I agree with the leaving space idea. The blurring of the bird in flight to me ruins the photo. You can't tell what species of bird it is. As far as the bird with the branch behind, I see no problem with that as it the natural surroundings. What do find fault with is the photographer not shifting their position to put the end of the branch behind the bird, not protruding from its breast.
    Otherwise an excellent video as always. Thank you from Kentucky USA.

    Excellent tips, thank you! Perhaps some more videos showing how to fix the issues in the photos, like how to remove that stick from behind the birds head? Also, a great reminder about knowing your hand holding rules and what equipment is needed to get a smooth blurr-pan (gimbal head etc).

    • @PangolinWildlife
      @PangolinWildlife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Guy, thanks so much... well... there is little that can fix the stick issue.... well, againt hat depends on your editing ethics and ethos... but we can do some more photoshop videos. That wouldn't be allowed in a competition afterwards however.

    Thanks so much for all the tips Janine. I found them really helpful. It has caused me a bit of a dilemma though. I have a few photos that I am considering for the challenge and some of the bird images that I took were early in the morning using high ISO. Since they were rather grainy I did use a denoising program to take out a lot of the noise, but now I'm concerned that they are too "smooth". You mentioned in the video that you prefer noise to heavy denoising, however if I leave them as they were they may be penalized for being too noisy! What should I do?????
