    Are you using Final Draft?

    I. think your tutorials are "better" then the Final Draft tutorials because they have to be economical and zip through. I purchased Final Draft 13 a month ago and still haven't learned the Outline Editor and Beat Board. I learned the Act Markers are created. Thanks! ❤

@@anothercharacter It's been a couple months and I still haven't learned Final Draft. If a tutorial only had a mock screenplay, problem solved. .

@@cs19575 Not sure what you mean by "mock screenplay" but final draft have templates. I made a video on it here: th-cam.com/video/YPoo9YR46PU/w-d-xo.html

Very good video. Thank You very much. Is There anything on Character Development In Final Draft 13?

    • @anothercharacter

Thank you so much for reaching out!😊 In the navigator you can type in characters and their age, gender etc. But not sure that’s what you are looking for? But you’re suppose to be able to see their stats as well and how many dialogue they have and how much they appear. Personally I write out a lot in the beatboard. So there I would also write my characters and develop them and the story.

Should i use final draft, scenarist or story architect

I have only used FD of these mentioned, but aren’t the two later the same? I’m curious to try them out!😊

@anothercharacter from what I've seen scenarist and story architect are made by the same people but story architect has more features though locked behind a subscription or something

Well, it's been many months now and haven't done a single manuscript with FD13. With Scrivener I done many in a few months. I love Another Character but I hate FD.

I use the beat board when I come up with my story and when I look at the structure of what happens first and what comes next. I also continue to use it for later drafts if I need to rework the structure and look at the whole story, and move beats around. A beat is an event key parts of the story. So an act have several beats in it, a scene can also have several beats.
"A story beat is a shift in the narrative. Story beats can be emotional turns, incidents or events, actions, and reactions, or realizations. They can even be small shifts in narrative tone or a character’s emotional arc." screencraft.org/blog/what-is-a-story-beat/
Thanks for watching and great questions!

This software is prone to crashing...I just lost a day and a half worth of creative dialogue that I can never replicate.
You'd think FD would have some autosave feature to the cloud or something.
    It's happened twice.
I did research and on reddit etc, it's happened to others as well.

    • @anothercharacter
      @anothercharacter  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Hi! Sad to hear this happened to you. FD do have a autosave. If you go to settings and then you can go under autosave and decide how frequent it will save. FD haven't crashed for me in a while, but I'm always afraid something will happen so I probably hit command+S every minute or so😅 I also save different files with the draft so if something where ever to happen I can go back to an old version. I also save it onto google drive or icloud for back up.

@@anothercharacter No worries, tech support told me how to find the backup files...by going to 'tools'...I had no idea that final draft 13 automatically saves files for you in your computer...I guess they planned ahead for just such incidents. So ye, all is good now...but thanks for your response.
