Trang An in Ninh Binh is also the World Heritage listed Area but not New 7 Wonders of the World. Though the attractions are not heavily trashed by rubbish, burning waste (without modern incinerators like Japan or France) is still very common in rural areas.
I always love seeing Ninh Binh views/scenery as well as Ha Giang Loop ones. Ha Long Bay is so unfortunate with all the trash, but my guess is that's it's more difficult to keep clean because it's in open water so trash can be coming from the locas, from China, from the Philippines (tidal waves and all that from monsoons and such will bring in the trash).

We were there end of March to Mid-April. 😀
How did you guys rent a scooter? Im going there. Too but everything says they font accept international licenses. Who did you rent from?
We didn’t have any issues. We rented the scooter through our guesthouse. It’s a very easy process.
