What a cracking campervan. We like that you have a very practical layout with everything you need including a LOO !! We enjoyed your van tour, thanks for sharing :) Trev n Sue
Thanks for the tour of your lovely T6. We have a 2015 T5 Vivante but we carry boats on the roof so ours is the pop top option. It would be great to hear/see a bit more about how they have done the hot water/shower and gas in yours as we had been thinking of whether to change this on ours. The Vivante layout really is well thought out and we have been really pleased with ours and the quality of the Leisuredrive build. A couple of things we have added which have worked well for us is the Loc8 table that fits really neatly into the sliding door panel and some comfy folding chairs that just strap to the inside tailgate panel and lift up with uprated struts. Works fantastic with the awning. Good luck and enjoy your adventures!
@@DolittleCampers thanks useful to know😊 we use a memory foam topper on our rock and roll bed so will possibly cut that in half if use use single beds 😊 Sorry another question? Where do/ did you store chairs ( outside chairs) ? Thanks for answering questions, we swap the van at the end of the month 😊
Great tour of your van, we had a T6 previously with barn doors and now have a T5.1 with a Tailgate and it is so much better for viewing the rear. We are in the process of upgrading certain items
@@DolittleCampers part law of attraction part youtube suggestions I guess. I’m unexpectedly about to be living in a van soon so thought it best I do some research and studying and there you both were. Wonderful. Thank you.
Nice little touches in there cool!. I Never understand why they never put solar panels on the roof? Im putting these on mine its FREE and plentiful power so you can go right into the wild 😊
@@DolittleCampers Nice one - its time the major camper builder companies fitted solar as standard as that is FREE power and protects the environment more NO CABLES to plug in.
Best tour of a vivante I’ve seen! We are thinking about getting one - anything you wish you’d had different now that you’ve had it a while? I notice you have a dog, can I ask where he/she sleeps? Our dog usually sleeps on the front seat of our current van but obviously with these forming part of the bed that’s not an option 🤔
Aww thank you 😊 ours was the showroom model so has everything on it but as we do a lot of off grid, so we probably don’t need our hot water tank, as that relies on hookup to heat. We would have also preferred a curtain rather than the roller blind for toilet privacy too. There’s a couple of options for the dog. You can make up 2 single beds meaning there is room on the floor between both beds. The double bed is larger than a double so we sleep width ways meaning there is a massive space next to Clare for both our dogs. If you are also happy sleeping width ways you can also leave the driver seat up for the dog to sleep on (we used to do that). Hope all of this helps? If you need anymore info let us know 😊
@@DolittleCampers thank you for your swift response - that’s really helpful. I hadn’t thought about sleeping widthways - that could be possible. I am now going to catch up on your adventures 😊
Hi, looking to buy a Leisuredrive Vivante. Do you run into any issues where the height of the vehicle causes an issue? Also with the layout where to you put bulky things like outdoor furniture when your travelling? Love the video by the way. Thanks.
Hi Iain. As we have the high top, height barriers are a challenge and mean when visiting towns or cities we need to look online to find car parks without height barriers. If you choose a pop top, you will fit under 99% of barriers. We chose the high top to use the upper bed as storage (we never use the bed) we keep all our furniture, bedding, games etc up there. We refer to it as the loft in our van 😂
Lovely campervan the layout is so much more practical then the standard side conversion rock n roll bed. I just noticed in video that your 2 seater seat that goes down your van is fitted with lap belts, are these legal to use in the UK while driving. Many thanks
Thank you. Yes we wanted to avoid the standard layout and get something different. The side seat is legal according to the manufacturer as it has been type tested. Some buses also have these type seats. Leisuredrive also manufactures the exact same van but with a front facing single seat behind the driver which would be safer and has a 3 point seat belt. As it’s only usually just the two of us and the dogs in the van we opted for the side sofa as suits us better when parked up and we don’t usually need to use lap belt whilst driving
Hi guys, been watching some of your latest videos, and I may have missed this, but does the van have hot water onboard? I'm torn between Jerba, hillside and leisure drive. I know the lesuiredrive one has the longest bed out of the three but I do like the idea of a hot water tank for washing up. If you haven't got hot water, has that been an issue at all. Thanks 👍 and look forward to your next uploads.
Hi, we have a hot water tank under the left hand rear seat. It is an electric tank so need to be on electric hookup to use. Once heated the water stays hot for around 4 hours so you can heat water on hookup then still have hot water whilst out and about. It was an optional extra but as ours was the showroom model, I couldn’t tell you how much extra it was. In retrospect however we could have coped without it and just boiled a kettle but would mean the shower would only have cold water if we did that.
@@DolittleCampers much appreciated. I've watched again and seen that you have hot water. We already have a campervan converted by camper king and prefer the rear kitchen layout. 👍
@@mhskou we think it’s great. They are very helpful at Leisuredrive and can add any extras you need such as solar etc. If you contact them, mention that you watch our channel 😊
Great video well done. What age is the engine on your conversion? How much was the total cost? Very interested in the figures of this conversion. Thanks
Hi thanks for watching and your comments. Ours was a brand new conversion so only delivery mileage. It was the ex demonstrator model however so we got a hefty discount. I believe for the spec we have you would be looking at early 50’s. I think we paid around 46. They can convert older models however so you could easily get one in the 30’s too. Check them out online and if you call them it might be worth mentioning our video 😊
I am looking at one of these at the moment, we are coming down from a large Motorhome, but I want to use it as a second car. Do you find the beds or bed comfortable. When I had the California it wasn’t comfy. Do you need toppers. Thanks in advance and good video 👍
We find it comfortable to sleep in and I have a bad back. We do use a mattress topper however so I guess you could say that it’s as comfortable as you make it, rather than being naturally perfect if that makes sense? But once topper is on we find it comfy
Hello there. Great van i know it somehow. Can you tell me please where is the gas bottle located? And fresh and waste tank where are located? thank you very much.
Mihai Amatti The gas bottle is located in cabinet under the hob and grill. The fresh water tank is under the floor. Our specific model doesn’t have a waste water tank but these can be added for an additional cost. Are you looking to buy one?
@@DolittleCampers Thank you very much for your answer. Oh, i don't want to buy one from them, too expensive for my budget. But i will buy from them just the hightop roof and probably i will use the same front layout. On the rear i will change something. And the fact it doesn't have a waste tank is not so great (for me anyway) to have all the time with me a bucket to fit underslung...just no. I will fit an underslung grey water tank for sure. And the gas bottle is a Campigaz 907? or a refillble bottle?
slojam100 hi guys. Glad you like it. This I a link to a similar model that leisuredrive has at the moment leisuredrive.co.uk/listings/brand-new-vw-t6-vivante-campervan/. Hi, quick question on the insulation and ability to use it on very cold winter nights. Does it keep the heat well? Also is yours SWB or LWB? I wonder what the difference is.
The insulation is thick lambs wool. We stay in all sorts of weather even snow on the driveway in lockdown. Heats up very quickly and holds heat well. Ours is a SWB, if you get a LWB it has a longer sofa I believe
Hi first saw your van on Bus and Beyond really like your layout. Have subscribed now and working my way through your videos. I’ve had caravans in the past but been thinking about campervans for a while. Was considering a California but lack of hot water and toilet was a concern. Other conversations have also had feedback about bed being uncomfortable. I’d use it as my everyday vehicle so don’t really want a MH. Is your bed comfortable? Is there anything you’d have different if you got it again? Does Leisure Drive provide the base vehicle? I’d probably want a 4 Motion and Electric POP top. Mainly for height restrictions and use of vehicle in winter where I live. Is this something that could be done? Anyway thanks and looking forward to your future adventures Charles
+Charles Dickinson thanks for checking our channel out. The layout and toilet were the main reasons for choosing this van. Our bed is comfortable as also very versatile, it can be made up as 2 singles or a double. We sleep on top of a double duvet as the seats are leather (seats can be made out of fabric too). Our spec was the top spec on the Vivante so I wouldn’t do anything different as I think we use everything that was added. I would say the solars panels are a definite must. Leisuredrive have access to a large range of base vehicles and can also source brand new. Ours was new from their local dealer. They do a pop top of the Vivante but we went for the high top for added storage. We don’t use it as a bed. If you contact them it may be worth mentioning our TH-cam video to see if they can do you a great deal. Good luck and if you have any more questions give us a shout 👍🏻
