Hell yeah!! This is one of my all time favorite bands. I've liked them back when they first started out. Still rockin their music today "20" One of my favorite songs right here. 🍺🤓👍
I was a Skynyrd Fan till after the crash. I thought they were done doing concerts of old stuff. Then I found their new stuff and WOW how great is this new stuff! Don't know why it took so long for me to find it.
Just saw skynyrd and bad company on july 17th at camden nj both of them are still kicking ass 40 years later can't wait to perform sweet home alabama simple man and free bird in some of my schools talent
It was very sweet to be in the studio for this record, an honor that I will always hold dear to my heart. Flying Ronnie's original vocals on this was , back of neck hair raising ❤
Do remember that Johnny Van Zant was asked by the others to front the reformed Skynyrd tribute band. Given the legend that is RVZ and how great he was, I think Johnny has held his own pretty well. Rickey Medlocke is no Allen Collins, but he fronted a little band called Blackfoot back in the day and is pretty good in his own right. Not to mention, he was with Skynyrd in the early days. Despite all the tragedy, they've soldiered and kept it mostly tight with friends & family.
Oh hell yeah that's my jam right there! I haven't heard this since I was a little girl and they used to play this on a classic rock station a lot. I always liked this song and I'm glad I know who did it now so I can go buy the album!
Blasting this in the ear buds across the Arizona desert on my Harley throttle locked at 90 heading to San Diego to see my brother in the navy!!! Great adventures! Keep living free!! Flying my American flag right along with my Confederate flag! Don't like it keep your opinions to your damn selves!! See yall in the wind!!
@scottconnatser There are alot of underrated skynyrd songs. Check out some earlier stuff like "Every Mothers Son" and "All I Can Do is Write About it". Also "On The Hunt" is good
What a band! Infinitely more talented than The Beatles in my opinion! It's a tragedy that they half of them died so young. In all my searching I have found very few bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd - can anyone name a similar band?
I thought it was pretty obvious, pardon me being defensive. Shouldn't argue anyway, we're on the same page. Can't wait to see them in June, too young so get the chance to see the original line up in the flesh. Going to be special.
Classic rock at it's best is Lynyrd Skynyrd !!! Also , check out , " Doesn't Matter Where Or When ," an original rocking song and video on my site . Thanks , Adam Holtz
I think the reason "new Skynyrd" sucks so bad is the way they are produced and recorded. There's nothing wrong with the singer or the performance; its that theres no distortion, it's all clean and electronic sounding, they pushed a lot of the bad ass lead guitar into the background.
Ronnie, Skynyrds lead singer, was killed in a plane crash in 1978. He started to record this song for an album right before he died. His brother Johnny, who you can hear singing on this track, finished the track up many years later before releasing it
Sorry, you're telling me to shut up? Way to miss the obvious sarcasm in what I was saying. Read my comment back, sarcasm in mind, and you'll find I was pointing out Ronnie would not appreciate people doing down his younger brother. I love the new Skynyrd, I'm seeing them on the 2nd of June next month. How fucking dare ye.
only 3 died in plane crash Ronnie Van Zandt Steven GAines newest guiitar addition and his sister Cassie back up vocalist but it was enough to almost destroy the band.
They lifted ronnies vocals off the live version of the song and isolated them from the live track and dubbed them with this one so its ronnie and johnny. On the behind the music episode johnny told of how they did it. It was actually that Rickey Medlocke that suggested it so they went in the studio n lifted ronnies vocals off the live track n skynyrd re did the song to sound this way n layed ronnies vocals on certain parts.
Stop acting like a little boy please. First: Lynyrd Skynyrd was much more than just Ronnie Van Zant. Second: Slamming the now Lynyrd Skynyrd, just because of things that weren't their fault is stupid. Bands evoluate because of different circumstances (like this plain accident, Allen Collins his death - yes, he was also very much Lynyrd Skynyrd, as Steve Gaines was...). I like them when I was 16 yo, and I still like them 41 later. They still got the sound, they still got the music, they still got the soul... Yes, still feel some kind of sadness about the losses, but otherwise: life goes on - move along with that.
@@stevenduering3716 me too! Just saw them in Detroit... fucking beautiful. Full house and nothing but loving people ,passionate about the same damn thing/s..
this is the song that keeps me pushing these loads every day. damn good song.
Skynyrd keepin us moving down the highway. Dad was a trucker 43 years. Big brother 25 brother in law 15
Skynyrd rules! One of the best rock bands ever.

I was a Skynyrd Fan till after the crash. I thought they were done doing concerts of old stuff. Then I found their new stuff and WOW how great is this new stuff! Don't know why it took so long for me to find it.

Absolutely one of Skynyrd's best!
It was very sweet to be in the studio for this record, an honor that I will always hold dear to my heart. Flying Ronnie's original vocals on this was , back of neck hair raising ❤
word. people should be thankful his brother kept the train rolling for so many years now despite all tragic incidents on the road. ignoreenceeeee
One of their best songs that never gets any airplay from radio stations ,, Very Underrated indeed !!!!
I agree

Not to mention Ronnies plan was for his brother to take over his place in lynyrd skynyrd cause his voice was giving him troubles towards the end👍
I didn't know he sang for Blackfoot, damn good band. Yes Jonny did Ronnie justice!!!

R.I.P RONNIE YOUR TRULY MISSED
i love how they put ronnie in there
They performed back in '03 for the stock show here and did this song with a killer bass intro. I wish it was recorded with it somewhere
I like this song.

Orange beach alabama is in the house
Hell Yeah!!!
Ronnie's a really good vocalist
ducaraaaaalhooooooooooooo
holy crap that's freaky hearing Ronnie's voice knowing hes gone
Considering that's not Ronnie's voice.. it's his brother Johnny's who will never be able to fill his older brothers shoes.
That's Johnny and Ronnie singing on this song buddy
the live pittsburgh 1 is the best!

RONNIE VAN ZANT FOREVER!
Okay, so this is originally an old song from the '70's but recorded later by the remaining members, right?
Loa.Spirit.94 hell yeah son, you can clearly hear the voice of Ronnie van zant in the second strophe.
Loa.Spirit.94 in the beginning of the third too, since the last one is singed by both the brothers
From the west to the east.
iam 52 and your right.
This isnt the original studio version. its 90's remake with Johnny Van Zant
this is a remake with Johnny Van Zant
This is the voice of Ronnie.
But at least I'm free! Yes!
IN which album is this song?
2 guys lost the way for the favorites.
Theres 6 Birds who broke free and got shot down....
why has this one never been released on an album??
Ronnie, Skynyrds lead singer, was killed in a plane crash in 1978. He started to record this song for an album right before he died. His brother Johnny, who you can hear singing on this track, finished the track up many years later before releasing it
