Ok, wow! 5 hours to build is extraordinarily fast lol! You seem to have blasted through the resistors and caps, that’s taken me sooooo much longer lol! Last night I finally got the connectors done, phew! Today is all the front panel components and then finally we get to see if my little mistake of blindly following the iBOM without referencing the manual (got all the 8 X resistors and 4 X resistors mixed up) was resolved ok eeek! Hard lesson but valuable
Hey, thank you! The big blue one is a cheap rotating PCB holder off Amazon, the smaller one is the Omnifixo. It's quite pricey, but super worth it. It's one of the best and most useful tools I own.
I was building my kit a few days after you were. I thought top soldering was the way to go as well, the 1/8th watt resistors left quite a bit of room on this board. absolutely love this synth. How is the tracking on your saw Osc? I am not the only one that I have talked to have not had the best range of octaves with it tracking... curious if it is a "feature", or a calibration error.. :D
Hey, I kinda missed your comment. I pretty much always top-solder whenever possible, it's so much more comfortable :D Regarding tracking: I'm not sure. I haven't used it for any actual sequencing, just drones xD But it might be a calibration error, it should track 10 Octaves.
@@auditoryscenes hey, I’ve explained how I did that on another comment. I’ve used an Intellijel Duatt as a voltage source and a multimeter to dial in the voltages mentioned in the build guide.
@@paolopaolomusik im using no clean flux. I think it’s still recommended to clean it, just in case. But I’m lazy xD I’ve cleaned the very first few modules I’ve built and then stopped, and haven’t noticed anything bad in the last few years
I used a bench power supply to calibrate mine, one could use a midi to cv modules with 1 volt per octave tracking- and play notes in octaves. the Korg SQ-1 trick doesn't quite work smoothly for the high voltage on this one. but as mentioned by glnnk_art - test the voltage on your multimeter to confirm.
Did you DIY? Does it take any power at all? I'd check the solder joints on the owl board, orientation of all ICs, power header and the regulator as well as checking the power header for shorts. Good luck! :)
@@glnnk_art Yeah DIY, it boots with sync light on, no sound, can go through calibration but seems to turn off after it, then it's back to the start, no sound etc. have tested everything I can and everything is where it is suppose to be :)
Well done! Nice vid, would love to see a dedicated build vid.
yes. i'm not sure what use a sped up timelapse is...
Building such a large module will probably never be on my path but the sounds coming from it did make me interested. Good job!
2nd jam is absolutely heavenly!
@@Thorinair also my favourite. This rack is so much fun to play with
@@glnnk_art I will be building my Oneiroi next week and I am definitely ultra hyped for it!
@@Thorinair Let's go! Awesome :D
I could listen to an hour of that second jam.
@@noahward9445 maybe I should do a stream again someday
Great video Finn! Footage looks absolutely amazing and the two jams also sound great. Maybe I will need to send over some stuff for a build video 🙃
@@wgdmodular1252 let’s talk about that :)
The second jam sounds absolutely ethereal! Awesome video, looking forward to the ikea wall one. 👀
@@edouhoekie thanks man! The IKEA wall will be fun. And once you’ve moved we‘ll do yours 😎
Well done! Great video quality and awesome sounds! 😍
thank you 😎
That thing sounds incredible!
Sehr schöne Jams !

thanks for the vid!
cool video, I want this module so much

Instruo quality at Beh price! Mine’s headed to me now

At the end of the building manual, it says you need to calibrate the module. Could you please give a hands-on guide/demo for this too?

@@glnnk_art I didn't scroll to the comments, thanks for pointing this out! Very appreciated!
awesome. I've been watching videos of befaco builds. none of the vids clean off the flux. is it really fine to leave the flux on?

@glnnk_art copy that! maybe everyone uses no clean flux nowadays.
Could you please tell me what you used to obtain the correct voltages for calibration?
