I traded in my 2018 GMC 2500HD SLT All Terrain Duramax (which I purchased new and put 176k+ miles on) on a well-equipped 2025 Custom gasser, slate gray with blackout package. It came down to price this time around and to be 100% honest, only a small part of me wanted a diesel again. The truck is everything I needed and nothing I didn’t. I don’t mind that they dug the interior out of an old parts bin…I’m tired of picking fly shit from pepper. I just wanted a nice looking truck at a fair price (relatively speaking, of course) and all the stuff that really counted…and that’s exactly what I got. For how I drive the truck 75% of the time, the truck drives much nicer and is way more responsive and I’m really liking the gas so far.
This is the best bang for the buck on the market. And also the interior is Internet hate only lol. Just like the exterior styling of the 2020+ trucks. Internet hate only. This truck just as it is will draw more compliments in the real world than a Ford or Ram will combined.
I had to jump up to the LT to get a better interior and cameras. I love the halogen headlights. Takes 15 minutes to put in LEDs and switchbacks. The switchbacks also give you an LED turn signal. If a bulb goes out, easy to replace. On the LED headlights, you have to replace the entire $1,200 headlight. I also think the front end on this truck looks more aggressive than the LED front end. The LED front ends look good, just not aggressive. Put a Cognito 4 inch with 18x9 black wheels on 37s with OEM high clearance steps, black 2500 badging, this Custom would look bad a$$. If it was a 3500, AEV bumpers all day.
I agree with a lot of people in the comments: I'm happy with the current Custom interior. If and when GM updates the WT and Custom interior, I'll never touch a new Chevy with a 10 foot pole.
I probably would have bought this very truck but my wife hated the passenger seat and it didn't have much adjustment so we went with an LTZ trim. And I guess I had to have LED headlights and auto 4x4. I really don't see anything wrong with the custom interior though.
I agree the interior is not the best looking but it is simple everything works all the time and easy to use. I will not consider a new custom because you can’t get the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel with the better gauge cluster like the 23 and older.
Sure wish Chevy offered more interior options on the Custom. I think the exterior is very appealing, but when you get inside it's just too plain for my taste - steering wheel especially! Calling it "Custom" - this should be the model you can actually customize above all the other trims, but I guess Customs have always been lacking in the options category! 😆
You’re the wrong one to be saying a company needs to change when you hail rams every minuet change. Ram does the same exact exterior and interior everytime. They just change small stuff everytime. It’s the same truck from 2015 basically
If you’re loyal to GM you are going to have to wait longer RAM will be the first to do the massive cuts. They have to or they are not going to make it much longer.
GM needs to step up it for quality and reliability. 2019 will be the last year i will buy. Also they need to fire the exterior designers . The GMC looks good but the chevy 👎
This interior is bad. Very bad. Yes I know it’s a custom. I’m also not sold on this front end. Looks good on higher models but on lower morels , those headlights make it ugly.
If you need a work truck and save some money, this truck is perfect.
I have one and dearly love the simplicity & the look. To each their own I suppose
Silver on black is fine as heck

Like this truck the way it is. Cant wait to finally get one
I have a 2024 same exact truck, same color. Very happy with the truck so far.
I like this truck. Very simple. Has about everything I need on a 2500 HD. I would just add autotract full time 4wd to my truck. 😊
Great video. If I didn’t get the 2024 Chev 2500 Diesel Duramax I would have went this route !
Love your videos
Just needs steering wheel controls for the radio. Not sure why they include that.

Looking at this in a few months
This will be my next truck.
Why can’t I upgrade my regular cab headlights and grille to LEDs? How do some LTs offer it but dealerships say it’s not possible?
I jave a 2024 with this interior and its great. Way better to have real gauges imo.
Just a question and maybe it’s not right but why would a $50 option allow you to put in a slide in camper?

I switch my passenger seat on my 24 custom trim to power seat 😎
@jonathanlerma5211 how'd ya do that?
The one thing I hate is they hate keep the slate gray to this trim level for 2025. I would prefer an LT trail boss with slate gray
2025 RAM 2500 is up on the configurator! EXPENSIVE!!!

It is a good looking truck
I just wish gm would make the seats better.
It's a work truck with sport appearance why would they change it
The interior is very dated. I do like the exterior styling. I think all this truck needs is an updated interior. Thanks for the video

Show us the engine !

The truck is definitely do for an upgraded. Exterior an example would be the colorado ZR2, wide fender, flares, etc. This looks dated.
You want a plastic looking truck 😂😂😂
The dated interior in the custom is sooooo bad. Got to move up a trim or two for sure. Not gonna buy a 2008 interior in 2025
It's only 4 years old 😂😂😂
my 04 duramax imo is just as nice and I paid 10k, no payment
If you’re loyal to GM you are going to have to wait longer RAM will be the first to do the massive cuts. They have to or they are not going to make it much longer.
50 k base ,and they still charged you for spray painted Bow Ties,
GM needs to step up it for quality and reliability.

For the price, it makes the interior worse lol. This is why ordered a ZR2
Don't be gay winer
@julostia6306 and how much was that?
😂😂😂😂 interior is perfect 👌
Gm has always been plastic fantastic 😅
I can buy this truck for 10k less where I’m at.
I'm a diehard Chevy guy, that being said. I have no love for that front end. It's so damn ugly. What a shame......
Hideous interior. I went LTZ Duramax. So much better.
You also paid 25k more lol
Who cares is meant to be a work truck 🛻 😂 SNOWFLAKES❄️ y’all worry about cosmetics toooo much 😂
