    You have no idea...how good quality video is this....after playing almost 5 years last day i realized this method..and was quite surprised with my few shots..and today i again saw this video and realize the reason ....last day i made this typ shot without realizing but i get it...thank you so much...ahhh the moment of contact and pinch method makes the ball super spinny and speedy ..even my opponent was astonished....you are a saviour man ......love from Bangladesh

    FZD backhand flick is incredible,
    1. executes it even on receiving a slow ball,
    2. shoots almost flat,
    3. close to net,
    4. extremely fast,
    5. executed quickly, without big gestures,
    5. still lands on the table.
    It will be a long long time until some can beat him.

      Glad it helped! For the Forehand, you should also try to pinch (use the thumb)

    Hi coach, I didn't clearly understand 2 things in this video.
    1. Ma Long has big ramie, and I understood tiniet ramie=best ramie.
    2. Why should I tighten the grip? In your many previous videos, you told: The grip must be loosened anytime, anywhere, and I do it and I am playing very well now, I relax every part of the body and if I combined that with the "Power the ground" and "Hit by the legs", my FH topspins are much much much better then a few months ago. I am trying to copy Ma Long's FH (in one of the previous video, you have shown one guy who copied Zhang Jike's style, I remember that, and now I am trying to copy his FH), so back to the theme, I have loosened the grip and I play smooth, fast and powerful FH shots, when I was trying to play with tightened the grip, I haven't any control and my wrist was hurting.

      The grip should be loosen before hitting. But at the moment of hitting, you should tighten it to impact power. And relax again. So relax, tighten and relax

    Hi EmRatThich, nice to see you back! I personally think that if I achieve some kind of whipping action, my shots become much more powerfull. But in order to achieve this I should have less tension on my wrist and the movement should start from the ground, as in the "power from the ground" concept you made me be aware earlier! Thanks for your tips, they always help me.

      This actually goes parrallel with your explanation of pinching, because if you think you are using a whip, the best whipping action is achieved not with a big motion but with a small motion but a sharp gesture of holding the handle (i.e. pinching you called)

    Hi coach, I've been seeing your videos for a while and they have helped me a lot. Thank you for all your effort! This means a lot not just for me but for thousands of other tennis table enthusiasts.
    I've been working on my loops for some time now and I was told my loops have become pretty good lately. I've learned to put a lot of topspin on the ball, I usually hit way below the table and the ball forms an arch and lends well on the table hence I can say I have a good feel for the ball in general. My problem now is the speed of the ball which has drastically reduced with the amount of brushing that I'm currently doing while looping (I'd say 70% brush, 30% drive/push into the ball). What should I do to increase the speed of the shots? I've tried variations of the racket angle - less brush (30% brush and 70% push/forward motion) also the trajectory of my arm swing; however, shots are not as powerful as I want them to be. There are other players who hit it almost flat with little to no spin, yet the ball travels 2-3x faster than my shots. I use my legs and my hips (that's why I'm generating such topspin/curved trajectories) but my shots travel relatively slow.
    In a forehand loop the wrist would move up to brush and add extra topspin in advanced players, however does it move forward too, as in the forehand flick? Over 90% of the amateur players usually use this forehand flick to snap the ball due to their inability to move their entire body fast enough. Let's be honest, the effort to move the legs and body is more than just using a quick wrist flick to snap the ball. I've also noticed the majority of amateurs' backends are usually way more powerful, faster and better than their forehand loops - which tells me they have never been coached before because a good forehand loop should always be faster than a good backhand stroke.
    Any advice will be greatly appreciated. 🙏🏼

      Forehand loop is a big gesture, let it flow with the movement of the body. But at the moment of hitting, try to tighten the grip to transfer the power. 60-40

    To be honest, I’m over the moon to see you back dear coach Emrattich. I’ve a question, is it right that staying too close to the table limits the footwork and heavy forehand stroke moment? Coz as I’m improving I realize that it’s better to stay approximately 1-1.5 meters away from the table (like what Ma Long or Fan Zhendong do, unlike Harimoto). Even Harimoto lately in the Doha contender tournament is seen paying like Ma Long, a little farther than he used to. Can you please make a video on this? Or did I miss your video on this?     Nice to see Wang Nan after all these years, she still looks young and vibrant.       Check out tabletennisdatabase (also known as Revspin), lots of information there. Depending on your technique and skill level, I'd recommend a medium-soft rubber like Donic Baracuda, Yasaka Rakza 7/7 soft, plenty of Xiom rubbers to choose from (Vega Elite/Europe/Europe DF). Medium soft sponge gives more dwell time and greater feeling, there's lots of rubbers on the market :)

    Your videos just keep getting better and better! Quick question, recently I saw your videos on how to choose a racket and after watching it I decided to change my set up because my previous racket was too fast. I bought the Yasaka Ma Lin extra offensive and paired it up with sanwei national target rubbers for both FH and BH. I saw reviews online saying that that racket wasn't too fast and was good for developing players. I am an intermediate level CPen player. Do you think this setup is good to develop my ball feeling and technique at the level I am at?

      Tq coach.. When we contact the ball, for power and spin.. Do we brush the ball thinly with the topsheet only or compress the sponge? Bcuz during matches when i hit harder my opponent can return it easily but when brush thinly, he have diffulty blocking, im using unboosted h3 neo btw

      I also use h3, but the problem of h3 is the quality is not consistent. One package is great, another is not the same.

    I have every thing that you said in this video that make me have the most powerful shot in my table tennis court.But I have the very big problem I can't make enough spin and can't setup the ball that make me do many unforced error I can't find method to improve my technique.
    (I'm not good at english but have some fundamental english from my school)

      I can t train due to coronavirus. I do some bodyweight work push ups,pull ups ,squats. I can t play table tennis lucky for you.

    How does the "pinching" work the same way for penhold though? Should I squeeze my thumb and middle/ring/pinky together? (I hold the paddle similar to Xu Xin)

      for penhold it is different. There are 2 types of penhold grips. Which one has you used?

      @@pingsunday Thanks for replying, coach! I hold my paddle with my middle/ring/pinky fingers fully extended and touching each other for both forehand and backhand (RPB), similar Xu Xin. I almost never use traditional penhold backhand, so I don't need to change grips at all

    Hi. Am I right? Pinching the bat during bal contact increasing bouncing mass and thus impulse transfer. But it also reduces flexibility in the wrist, can that be okay? Thanks for your reply.

      There are 3 phases. Before the hitting moment, the wrist is flexible
