Sleeves are important to this game, since the back of each letter is its upgraded version. This game requires sleeves to play properly.
But I agree with you! I wish more games came with sleeves, especially good quality sleeves like these ones!

One notable critique that I have with this game is that though it's super cool that it comes with sleeves, at least mine only came with just enough to sleeve the whole deck, which means when one split I had to resleeve the entire thing with my own sleeves.

This has been played like 5 nights a week for the last 2 months here. Thanks for showing me this. I absolutely love all the slapstick/tongue in cheek humor but the game play is what I'm addicted to. There is various difficulty settings that make the game so beautiful no matter if I had a long day and just want a fast light game or when I want to sit down and really challenge myself. It's all so simple and easy but subtle in it's complex choices if you want to dig deeper. Pure love.

Some rules missteps with how the icons work (only get them from one side, you don't get both sides on the top card) and blocking damage (enemy deals 4 damage, you have 1 block, you take 3 damage)

Fun fact: mcguffin is a term used for an object in a story where it’s sole purpose is that people want it and other than that it has no use to the story, which is the opposite of this game where mcguffins work as “relics” for all the slay the spire
