The Obra 2 will be available everywhere as of July 26. As soon as they go up, I will have links posted on the review page and on the new releases page of my website. Sign up for the SR4U mailing list as well, if you want to be one of the first to know when they become available. All of that is linked in the description of this video.
There aren't really "top" shoes. You pick your shoes based on personal preference when it comes to feel. The new stuff is great, but that doesn't make the old stuff bad. If you're looking for a new pair of shoes, you should consider all that's available in your price range, not just the newest thing.
+Soccer Reviews For You I agree, I was just referring to in your evo touch video you said something along the lines of "if i could make a top 5 this would probably be in it" I know everyone has a different "top 5" but i was meaning you should make a video of YOUR top 5. would be interesting to see.
xXWalkertonXx I'll answer for Josh. I don't know the order, but included are: Adidas X Pure Control, Puma Evotouch, Nike Tiempo Legend, Nike Vapor V, Nike Magista Opus
All your videos are very helpful because I need new soccer cleats and I was looking a lot and your videos really helps me! Thanks! Keep up the awesome vids!
Everything was great until the lenor ad popped up. I've been waiting long for this review and you have more or less sold the Magista 2s to me Josh. Great review
I can tell the shoe has potential as far as looks are concerned, but im not a fan of this colorway. I believe this color was chosen by Nike to debut the perks of the shoe being thicker in certain areas. After this the colors will get better and more solid.
Perfect Boots (IMO): Flyknit upper with Brio cables, BUT with a traditional tongue and low cut design, with the sizing and soleplate of the Vapor 11s. Name: Nike Mercurial Vaporfly.
Look for the new hypervenom 3's coming out later in 2017. They won't have the traditional tongue or the mercurial soleplate that you want but they will be low cut flyknit boots with the flywire
I live in a smaller town in the US, so we don't have high end boots in stores near me. I recently went to Seattle and tried on the superfly V, and I really liked the soleplate and the seeming underfoot cushioning that they provided because of the contoured soleplate. I have worn the magista obra in the past and I was not totally happy with the cushioning and provided insole. How does the new insole cushioning compare to the contoured soleplate of the superfly V as far as underfoot cushioning? Comfort is key for me, and again I can't try them on any time soon. What is your input? Comfort is key to me, I don't really care about anything else in the boot except maybe lockdown. Sorry for the long comment, thanks!
Hi Josh the new Nike boots, the high cut ones has many things in common such as the fly wire and all has an upper that has different thickness. From your test, which has the best lockdown and the most comfortable ??
They all offer a different fit and feel. It depends on what you like. You have to pick shoes based on personal preference. The Superfly is going to offer the tightest fit of the bunch, but again, it depends on what type of fit you find most comfortable.
Hey Josh, I wore the Magista Obra 2's in a store, and they were very comfortable, although a just a little spacious all-round (I went for my usual size though, not half size up). However, the part where the collar meets the heel counter was slightly digging into my heel. Is this problem going to disappear after break-in time, or should I stay away from the Obras?
Josh. I want something that has little or no slips between the bottom of my feet and the insole. lock down while cutting corners that is. particularly in the medial area. having said this magista obra 2 is a touch wide makes me have a second guess. I'm torn between magista obra 2, hypervenom phantom 2 v2, and superfly 5. what say you?
I bought some Superfly V, it's very uncomfortable on my right heel, and it gave me a blister very fast. Should I wear specific socks or do something that'll help me making them confortable? Or ajust the insole in a specific way?
Has this version of the Magista Obra fix the heel blister problem because of that magista tag in the back?. The Superflys and the original Obras seemed to have a lot of complaints because of that tag in the heel. Plus that CR7 hot water trick definitely didn't fix the issue.
Hey josh, unrelated but I'm buying my first pair of high end cleats which are the Nike tiempo legend vi. I wear a men's size 9 in normal day to day shoe, what size should I order for the tiempo? I've never tried on a pair of high end cleats before. Thanks
frank harris I would recommend going a half size up and then if it fits good then for later shoes ull have an idea and if they fit to big then just wear double socks. Hope this helps
Hey josh, just a quick question about sizing, wpuld you say thereis any difference in size between the obra 1 and obra 2 and would you go true to size?
Hi josh I am thinking of purchasing the obra 2 I have a pair of obra 1 and I was wondering should I get a different size or should I get the same size as my obra 1 thanks
The mid-cut boots from Nike are actually more water resistant than a standard low cut shoe would be. The Flyknit is made up of multiple layers of densely knit material, so the out side will get wet, but the inside will remain relatively dry. The seamless design also doesn't leave any gaps for water to get it. Your feet will still get wet if there's enough water on the field, but under normal rainy conditions, they fair quite well.
+Soccer Reviews For You I have noticed that you like the Purechaos, and also the magista obra 2, as I have kind of the same shape foot as you I was wondering which you prefer and is more practical for a season
I recently tried on a pair of ordens in size 8 US. They fit me really well, but I want to get a pair of Obra 2s online and am unsure what size to select. Are the Obras slightly wider or skinnier than ordens? Should I go a size up or choose the same size as the ordens?
hey josh, i'm looking for a cleat that matches both of my positons, left winger and center attacking midfielder Would these be good or should i look elsewhere?
man i wish i had as much money as you do so i could buy those... the only cleats i have is the magista onda that my dad got for 20$ at a closing sports store...
Out of the box, they seem wider than anything else from the Nike aside from the Premier. It's pretty similar in width to the Legend 6, but the feel is quite a bit different.
Josh, I'm a bit surprised you didn't address that spine-looking design on the sole plate. I'm not sure what effect that has (if any) but it did catch my eye as something intriguing. Is there anything special about it?
didn't know what video to ask this on but what do you do with all of your draw string bags that come with the cleats? do you have a wall covered in them or are they hung up somewhere or not? just wondering because I'm getting quite the collection now and was wondering if there was anything cool someone has done with them.
Hey Josh, while watching this video I started to think, Why are soccer cleats so expensive? Don’t get me wrong I’ve had my fair share of Superflys and am currently playing in Purecontrols. I'm not complaining, but for soccer to be one of Americas least popular sports (under Football, Basketball, and Baseball) why do you think the cleats cost so much? For Adidas and Puma and a few other companies I guess I understand, Germany for instance, the most popular sport there “may” be soccer, I’m not sure, so the boots cost a lot over there for obvious reasons and I guess you could say Nike competes with the market, but when their American Football & Baseball cleats are $150, Track spikes are $100, Golf shoes are $170 idk…It seems like Nike could do better in America, but whatever, just wanted to know your opinion.
If you have a product that you're selling worldwide, the price has to be consistent. You can't have the same product at a different price depending where in the world it is being sold. They also charge what they deem that people are willing to pay. As long as people continue to pay $300 for a pair shoes, which very many people are, they will remain at a higher price.
Hey Josh, can the FG version be used on artificial grass? there is a sale on the FG version and I want to save some money, only problem is that I only play on artificial grass. Any advice?
Soccer Reviews For You hey Josh sorry to bother you again but, I am currently wearing the adidas x 15.1 in a size 11 (US). Should I go for a size 11 with the magista obra 2, or is there a difference in the sizing of Nike and Adidas boots?
here we are two years later, they’ve stopped production of the magista (my favorite boot) and im trying to find a pair without having to pay a fortune

+Darkflame_ Mcpvp same
i kinda hated them at first but now i love them
I'm just waiting for the black colourway
Same, these are horrible
I think these look horrendous, I usually like darker colored shoes.
same I think black and darker colors would be cooler
I like black with coloured accents. That's why the pitch dark pack is one of my favourite.
Same
Josh, with all of the new boots that have come out recently (evo touch, obra II, etc) you should do a "Top 5 boots" headed into the 16/17 season
Great idea bud

I've been waiting for this for a while and definitely wasn't disappointed.
the obra 1 that you compared it to is so nice, my favorite magista colorway
I want these in the pitch dark color way
i think nike released a black out version
i think nike released a black out version
Please make a play test! I love the look of these!
Man you should really make a play test for them asap!!
eh i think people should pick one cleat and only use that one.
I really like your channel and love the reviews so I can see what boots I want 👍👍
I want these so bad but I'm not into the colorway, I hope they release another colorway pretty soon
All your videos are very helpful because I need new soccer cleats and I was looking a lot and your videos really helps me! Thanks! Keep up the awesome vids!
did not like the look of them at first, on the adverts, but I'm coming around to the style now that I can see how it looks physically

The new midcut collar reminds me of a cowboy boot lol
They look like the sneakers from back to the future. The air mags?
Perfect Boots (IMO): Flyknit upper with Brio cables, BUT with a traditional tongue and low cut design, with the sizing and soleplate of the Vapor 11s. Name: Nike Mercurial Vaporfly.

Will you doing an Playtest with them(vlog)?
Yes.
Hey Josh, how does the fit and sizing of these compare with the original hypervenom? I wore the hypervenom and loved the way the fit my foot. Thanks.
They're quite a bit different.
I like the magista obra 1, put the magista 2 stud pattern and the collar on the magista 1

It's an entirely different fit and feel. They're both comfortable, but in different ways. Comfort is very much based on personal preference.
Hi Josh the new Nike boots, the high cut ones has many things in common such as the fly wire and all has an upper that has different thickness. From your test, which has the best lockdown and the most comfortable ??

I personally think these are stunning, but at the same time not sure I'd opt to wear them
hey josh my question is would you recommend the magista obra or the magista obra 2
I can recommend either of them.
Hi Josh, I currently wear legend v's size 9, should I go for a 9.5 with these? Thanks
Sizing is the same for the Tiempo and Magista lines.
that shoe is so dope compared to the original magista obra
Do you prefer this colorway or the original launch color of the first Magista Obra?
I think they both look pretty good.
Great review Josh keep up the good work :)
I'm probably gonna buy these josh and is it worth me buying the cleat or should I get some nike mercurial superfly 5 ?
It all depends on what type of fit and feel that you're looking for.
+Soccer Reviews For You oh ok then thanks josh
I have a REALLY wide foot,im a size 9.5,should i get them half a size big?
I would recommend buying any boot intentionally too big.
Awesome video Josh love the content!
My main question is, are the Magista Obras durable?
Thank you so much josh you're so much help keep up the good work!!
Josh, I just got to try on these cleats about 30 minutes ago. I thought they weren't supposed to come out in stores until the 26th
THERMAL CLEATS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Coming to the stores near you
I've been wearing mercurials for like 3 years one but I've always had problems with the heel do you think magista's will make a difference?
They'll fit and feel entirely different.
+Soccer Reviews For You ok thank you for your opinion
Boy hell nah. Weather radar ass shoes, heat radar ass shoes
LMAOOO
Personally, which upper material do you think is better between the new Magista Obra 2 and Hypervenom Phinish V2?
They just came out.
I didn't have that issue at all.
Hey Josh, you said you'd review the normal veloce ii when they come off pre-order. They are off pre-order so will you review them, thanks
I have a pair on the way.
Hey Josh which pair or cleats would you say are better the Magista 2 or the Pure Chaos?
Neither is better, they're just different. It depends on what type of feel that you're looking for.
Which of them do you prefer? Obra 2 or Superfly 5
These just came out. I don't have enough time in them to have a preference yet.
which boot do you personally prefer the magiasta obra or the 2.0
I just got these.
+Soccer Reviews For You When will you do a Walmart Boot video? Also do a play test with the magista 2 thanks!
Can you do a video comparing the Obra 2 and the Hypervenom 2? Thanks, great videos
Josh which cleats would you wear The Magista 2 or the Nike Superfly 5
I just got these.
The Superfly 5 has the most secure fit and feel in my opinion.
Josh will you be doing review of take downs in evo touch line. p.s. keep up the the good work video are awsome
Possibly.
Just bought these off of ur website
I bought some Superfly V, it's very uncomfortable on my right heel, and it gave me a blister very fast. Should I wear specific socks or do something that'll help me making them confortable? Or ajust the insole in a specific way?
Check out this video th-cam.com/video/i5ZXuie99sg/w-d-xo.html
Stuck between the Obra2 and the PureChaos... I've got a slightly wider foot. I noticed that you say they're both comfortable, which one fits wider?
They're pretty similar in terms of width.
Are they better than the magista obra 1 cause these look fabulous
I think they're a nice improvement.
***** kk thanks
you dont even breath when you talk josh........ nice review !
Hey Josh, will you do a comparison of the Magista Obra 1 and the Obra 2?
Yes.
I like how they look but the color way is odd. Maybe this will be like the same situation as the Superfly V
Has this version of the Magista Obra fix the heel blister problem because of that magista tag in the back?. The Superflys and the original Obras seemed to have a lot of complaints because of that tag in the heel. Plus that CR7 hot water trick definitely didn't fix the issue.
I talk about that in this video th-cam.com/video/jQ_ikqatONo/w-d-xo.html
Yea I figured you would you are in depth with your reviews. I was just watching the video at work and I have no speakers
Hey josh, unrelated but I'm buying my first pair of high end cleats which are the Nike tiempo legend vi. I wear a men's size 9 in normal day to day shoe, what size should I order for the tiempo? I've never tried on a pair of high end cleats before. Thanks
You can't size soccer cleats based on regular shoe sizes.
+Soccer Reviews For You then how do I figure out what size I am?
frank harris I would recommend going a half size up and then if it fits good then for later shoes ull have an idea and if they fit to big then just wear double socks. Hope this helps
Hey josh, just a quick question about sizing, wpuld you say thereis any difference in size between the obra 1 and obra 2 and would you go true to size?
Sizing is the same. I talk about the specifics of the fit and sizing in the video.
Hi josh I am thinking of purchasing the obra 2 I have a pair of obra 1 and I was wondering should I get a different size or should I get the same size as my obra 1 thanks
Sizing is the same as the original Obra.
Soccer Reviews For You thanks Josh for the help 👍👍👍
I wear a 11.5 US in a Hypervenom Phantom 2 but my foot is still growing should I go for a 12.5 US
Check out this video th-cam.com/video/jnnVe4V7KgQ/w-d-xo.html
Hellow josh do you think they will make an indoor version in the future
I would think so.
They look pretty nice, can we campare them the the adidas ace 16.1 ? or it is totally different ? and why ?
They're quite a bit different.
if you were playing in the rain would water seep through the boot and would they be hard to clean after playing in muddy conditions.
Ok, thank you very much. Great review though, keep it up !
+Soccer Reviews For You I have noticed that you like the Purechaos, and also the magista obra 2, as I have kind of the same shape foot as you I was wondering which you prefer and is more practical for a season
I just got these. I don't have enough time in them to have a strong preference just yet.
+Soccer Reviews For You out of the box though?
I recently tried on a pair of ordens in size 8 US. They fit me really well, but I want to get a pair of Obra 2s online and am unsure what size to select. Are the Obras slightly wider or skinnier than ordens? Should I go a size up or choose the same size as the ordens?
Sizing is the same across the Magista line.
Josh, I tried these cleats but they are too thin for my feet, is there a wider shoe you would recommend that I could possibly try on and get?
Check out this video th-cam.com/video/NmjIPThTHFE/w-d-xo.html
Unfortunately were a bit wide for me, thankfully i got them at a 60% discount
Oml 😂 I just recently bought the 1st magistas didn't realize these were coming out and they are the same price just nuts😂
You'll probably like those more than the 2s so don't worry
do you own the 2's?
hey josh, i'm looking for a cleat that matches both of my positons, left winger and center attacking midfielder Would these be good or should i look elsewhere?
Watch this video, it will explain some things you should know th-cam.com/video/8xZsLTf7t8A/w-d-xo.html
man i wish i had as much money as you do so i could buy those... the only cleats i have is the magista onda that my dad got for 20$ at a closing sports store...
best magista ever
hi josh. I have the option of the evopower 1.3 or x 15.1 primeknit and was wandering which provides better protection?
I prefer the evoPOWER stud pattern personally.
How wide is this shoe compared to the Superfly V, Legend 6 or Hypervenom Phantom 2?
Out of the box, they seem wider than anything else from the Nike aside from the Premier. It's pretty similar in width to the Legend 6, but the feel is quite a bit different.
Please do a magista obra 2 play test
I legit just got the magista 2s!!!
Josh, I'm a bit surprised you didn't address that spine-looking design on the sole plate. I'm not sure what effect that has (if any) but it did catch my eye as something intriguing. Is there anything special about it?
It's just a visual element. The soleplate in general feels very similar to that of the Obra 1.
+Soccer Reviews For You oh alright cool thanks!
I wanna see these without the heat map, maybe I'll like them better!
didn't know what video to ask this on but what do you do with all of your draw string bags that come with the cleats? do you have a wall covered in them or are they hung up somewhere or not? just wondering because I'm getting quite the collection now and was wondering if there was anything cool someone has done with them.
I leave them in the box for the most part.
Josh, will you be reviewing the magista opus 2 ?
Yes.
Hey Josh, while watching this video I started to think, Why are soccer cleats so expensive? Don’t get me wrong I’ve had my fair share of Superflys and am currently playing in Purecontrols. josh would u do a review on the mizuno morellia neo 2 thats just come out?
I will be, yes.
***** will it be soon, and will it be compared to the made in indonesia version
Does the sock on the boot help someone with weak ankles for stability?
Not at all.
Great review
Anyone else seen the 2nd women's colourway on the sr4u website? It looks great
Do you think they would make a K-Leather Version like they did with the Magista Obra I
I have no clue?
Josh, should I go true to size on the nike magista obra 2?
I talk about the fit and sizing in the video.
How would you compare the upper to the original hypervenom upper?
It's thicker, and more flexible. It's quite a bit different.
i cant decide if i should get these or superfly 5...can you help me out pleasse?
It all depends on what type of fit and feel that you're looking for.
You should do a hypervenom 2 original upper vs magista obra 2
Hey Josh, can the FG version be used on artificial grass? there is a sale on the FG version and I want to save some money, only problem is that I only play on artificial grass. Any advice?
I wouldn't recommend it.
Soccer Reviews For You Ok, thanks for the help! Keep up the great work!
Soccer Reviews For You hey Josh sorry to bother you again but, I am currently wearing the adidas x 15.1 in a size 11 (US). Should I go for a size 11 with the magista obra 2, or is there a difference in the sizing of Nike and Adidas boots?
Great info. Thanks
Can you make a video comparing the magista opus 2 and the obra 2
Hey, I know I’m a little late lol, but in in Adidas Nemeziz I’m a 11, should I go 11 in Magista too?
Nemeziz is my favorite boot. I hope I can get one of these too because they look very similar.
Will you be making a video on the Magista Opus 2?
Yes.
josh why do you think many professional footballer are moving to magista.
Big name pro players sign contracts with brands to wear their shoes. Pros wear whatever they're paid to wear.
