    Also the classic INFP trail-off, ie 4:30. I do this all the time in this type of situation, in a meeting or what not, and I've seen many other INFPs do this also. Curious what causes that little INFP idiosyncrasy. He also uses a lot of hand gestures when speaking, which is very common among INFPs I think. This was great, he's a lovely gentle INFP chap isn't he! Cheers.

      I think it's like when you try to explain something you talk a lot and feel like it's a little bit all over the place so you try to give some kind of short simple conclusion to make sure people understand your point but then you realise you aren't making it any shorter or clearer, you are just repeating yourself so you just kinda stop

    I am very selfish but I do not appear to be. I want to think and do things only for myself. However I naturally instantly Think of other people 1st. Because I can put myself in their shoes and imagine things, And my Jiminy Cricket is a strict manager. So I look like I'm selfYes picking up trash that doesn't belong to me. But really I'm doing it for selfish reasons because it bothers me to see trash out in nature. I'm doing it for me I'm not doing it for nature I'm not doing it for other people I'm doing it because I want to enjoy nature without trash. Other people on nature just benefit from what I want. Someone else is struggling and in pain I automatically go to help them, But it's not for them. I'm not helping them because I want to. I really don't want to be bothered by it. But I see their pain and it hurts me. I don't want to hurt so I help them get better so that I can feel better.

      That sounds a twisted way to put it!
      I identify myself with this guy, from the ability to disconnect from the world and immerse myself into my art, all the way to finding it hard to put myself first.
      We feel what others feel deeply, we can easily put ourselves in other people's shoes and that is beautiful it itself because we love harmony, wr love for people to be happy, joyful... we dont want to hurt anybody and hence we detect other people's hurt as well as hurting others, which wakes up in us what i call the "holy rage" and will corageouslt stand up loud and clear for the vulnerable and not tolerate injustice nor abuse of any kind.
      We love to share, and we are often misunderstood and taken as arrogants or aloof 🤣🤣🤣 no happy middle with some people.
      We struggle to put ourselves first... and yes, as we get older and more mature... we learn to navegate the waters of more interactions with others.

      Hurting when you see other hurt is called empathy. That's healthy and normal. It is strange that you say you don't actually care about their pain, yet it hurts you to see it. How is that different to caring? Perhaps what you're saying is you imagine your life would be easier if you didn't experience empathy, as like most people you don't want to feel pain. However, generally the people I know without empathy though are horrible, and they are not actually happy.

    I played music in groups (bands, orchestras) till in my 30’s, too shy to solo. A teacher shared with me that he viewed performance as a gift we offer to the audience, and that gave me the courage to accept offers for solo work. I do focus inward while playing, centered on the image or feelings that the piece evoked; that is the part of myself that I offer others through the music. Nonetheless, I feel deeply connected to the other musicians and to the mood of the audience. There are always real-time adjustments needed while performing - dynamics changes, missed cues… I try to put most my effort into preparation so that I am able to handle the unpredictable things that happen during a performance.

    Hi Erik, I think I messed up with an infp girl, I think I have come across as too intense and maybe somehow a Little bit more on the "logical" side.. She somehow ghosted me for several days, I then decided to apologize and made myself vulnerable, Is She gonna appreciate that and I should Just let myself waiting for her processing the whole thing or Is She permanently done with me? Is there a Hope? She Is so sweet but I think I have understimated her sensitivity :(

    • @ErikThor
      @ErikThor  ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Hey Lorenzo! When she ghosts you theres not much you can do. Just focus on yourself and taking care of yourself. I cant say what she will do and you have no control over that either. You can just be true to yourself!

    • @marleenstukkien5384
      @marleenstukkien5384 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Gosh, first off, I sincerely hope I won't say something stupid. But, you know, much depends, I think, on what you exactly said, apologising. For me personally, as a fellow INFP, I love sincere ones (and you being vulnerable is most definately a plus 👍) and ones that focus more on what I as a person mean to you, honesty about that. As for being ghosted, nothing is guaranteed unfortunately, but I think us INFP's need our freedom, need space to figure out what things mean that happen to us in the real world. Te is our inferior function after all and either what I'm about to say is complete bs or this is indeed the reason we need a little more time away from people to figure out what just happened. I think, like Erik said, there isn't much you can do when she ghosts you, but don't assume the worst, give it time and after, to be honest, I'm not sure how long (sorry 😳), when it feels safe to do so I guess, try and ask how she's doing. Good luck!
