Thank you for caring about us INFPs!!
I feel like some people view us as overly emotional weirdos. When I feel misunderstood or down on myself I seek out your videos to cheer me up. I love that you see more than our silly stereotypes.

This was a nice reminder that being an infp does not necessarily make us any more subjective... but more aware of our biases. Thanks dude

I always felt alienated because i have different opinions than the people around me. I felt like no one would appreciate my different opinions or my different perspective on things. But after watching your videos, i realized that i don't need to be afraid to share my opinions and thoughts to others. Thankyou🥺💖

Oh my gosh. That’s so kind of you to see infp’s as valuable and as making contributions to the world and to those around us. Honestly, the world tells us we are flawed and not “up to snuff” so to speak, and too often we internalize that opinion. Thanks for the reminder that our particular quirkiness can make a deep and positive impact on the world. 🥰

I am new to MBTI and still skeptical. However most of your description in this video has resonated with me to an eerie extent. According to the tests I’m firmly in INFP-A territory. Self-employed spiritual psychotherapist working from my messy-comfy-cosy home, a calligrapher and musician. You’ve basically described how my life looks and how I look at life. Let’s just say my MBTI skepticism is waning. Oh and the Ganymede story also resonated on too many levels, not to mention I’m also Aquarian. Thanks for taking the time to share your insights. Your presentation style is refreshingly honest and lo-fi in this era of social media hyper-perfectionism.

  • @giselleg3571

I never knew that a comment that I took personally actually mean that I've inspired them.
So I'm this 30-year-old undergraduate student who quit my job to study what I love. It's not conventional in my country for adults to go back to school because most of us can't afford it. I'm very grateful to have this opportunity.
And one elderly woman said this after I disclose my age and that I'm studying:
"Why do you look like those early 20s people?"
    "Can a 30-year-old study? I didn't know that."
I was offended and I said this:
"A teenager can do things that a 30-40 years old do, and older people can do things children do."
The whole room with 4 other people just kept silent and listened to me.
I thought I was being ridiculed. But actually, they were inspired by what I said. (If I interpret it correctly after listening to your video.)
I really like this video, Thank you Erik for making us feel valuable and helping us appreciate our own quirks more :)

Thanks for your great content! I learn so much. I am an ISFJ, but I rarely can relate much to the typical ISFJ-info out there. We seem to always just getting reduced to being the overcaring mothering types. I am so much more, and just a bit of the caring type. I am such a deep thinker, and I really enjoy taking in information and looking at patterns. I often relate to INTP and INFJ and INFP. But In the end I know I am an ISFJ. I think we might be the most misunderstood and misinterperted type. And there’s so little information about us. Maybe because we seem “boring” and stereotypical and not so interesting to analyse. But I think if you look deeper there’s so much more. And maybe we are the most varied type because we become what we experience, in a way. Those whom I really let in and those who really want to know me always tell me I am such an interesting, deep, complex person. Not what you’d expect from an ISFJ? I’d love to see more videos from you on us ISFJ that can help us come out of that stereotypical frame. And a subtype video would be amazing! Thanks again!!

Oh man, you've only discussed two of the ten reasons as I'm writing this and I already want to push the like button 32 times because of all the spot on things you say about being lost. Because I find it's true: as much as I (as an INFP myself) get frightened and I absolutely hate the feeling of being lost, it is indeed the only way to learn and grow and eventually learning to truly be ridiculously happy with who you are and believe in what you have to offer. Having said that though: positive things about INFP's? What I love about us? What do you mean?

Thank you Erik. You have a real ability to tease out the subtleties. You've helped me to understand the purpose of my individuality.
In passing, these past few years have been a real challenge to maintain what I think is right under an onslaught of family, friends the broader culture wanting me to tow the line. I feel stronger from resisting most of it.
On another note, I've always found it interesting that for me logic and subjectivity coexist fairly harmoniously. I too have heard the trope about INFPs being irrational, illogical and emotional. Just never been my experience. Misunderstood, well yes invariably but for me logic, feelings and intuition cooperate fairly well. Sensation gets left out in the cold sometines, probably could work on that.
Anyway, thanks again for all you do in your INFJ way (I think that's right). Very valuable.

I love myself. There are problems though like procrastination and efficiency. Yes our moral compass guides our decisions. But INFPs have different goals and means of achieving it from other types. We need money but not too much to make us lose sight of what's more important in life and not at the expense of others. There is a balance somewhere. And about modesty its about the yardstick. Most types measure success by how much they have or the titles they recieve the accolades the scores in the exam. Our yardstick is different. Did we do the right thing? Was it a win win situation for everybody? Did we make a difference in other people's lives? Boring and corny stuff like world peace.

Apprecciated this so much. As an INFP it hasn't always been easy socially, but I've come to love and understand myself over the years and through content like this. Feeling understood and valued really makes a difference here. In my case, I've always been proud of my authenticity and individuality. Of my value driven disposition, which tbh I thought it'd be more common among people. But I've just learned recently how much impact my moral compass really has on my actions and outlook on life. I guess its harder to see when its so deeply engrained in you. And it makes sense now why I always perceived other not acting accordingly to theirs as I did. I've never really cared to be someone I'm not just to please others. Even when that very thing has made it harder to "fit in". I'll stay true to myself and could not have it any other way. This has led to alienation from certain groups of people in the past, only to find out what their true colours and fake appareances(ironically). As a saying goes: Dos who matter don't mind, and those who mind don't matter. Just some self expression here. Much love!

Reason #1.....It's me all over. Don't care if I get in trouble. The truth is more important.
Reason #2.....I like adventure, but still trying to get out of my comfort zone to get there.
Reason #3.....My Dad always said..."keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are thinking" As a people-watcher, I can easily see if I ruffle anyone's feathers...great fun.
Reason #4....Different isn't always wrong.....just different. Different can be beautiful.
Reason #5....I know the reasons behind everything I do and say. In my own head a lot.
Reason #6....Everyone has talents to discover. Not everyone is the same or should be.
Reason #7....Quiet.....yes. Have ideas....yes. If someone is curious, they get my thoughts.
Reason #8....Does wanting to learn to play a blues harmonica expression? On my way.
    Reason #9....Art! Visual. Can't get enough.....can't create enough....many hobbies.
Reason #10....Not many come to me that way.....those that do, show they respect me.
Information overload? Oh, well.....it was fun....thank you for liking INFPs for the right reasons.......the reasons we find important.....Karen.

I'm at a crossroads in my life. Perhaps it's a Buddhist awakening of sorts (even though I try my best to be Christian), but I've realized that I have completely lost sight of the value of my Fi. I've been pursuing success in a company; but really, perhaps I should be writing poetry in a meadow. At a certain level I know my life's mission must be to be a writer. For so long I suppressed my writer's instincts, I focused on the fact that I have language talents and how to apply that professionally. And I realized I do have good instincts in business and negotiating. But perhaps my value to the world does really lie in that creative output. In trying to avoid criticism, I have crushed my Fi, I have dammed up my natural stream of creativity to become a stagnant, algae-filled pond.

Please don't give up. There's not enough Christian infp's in the world. It's so lonely out here😢 As for stagnancy, I just did a Bible study about it. (A dear friend has asked me to step up and do videos and I'm trying so hard to be brave, and not freeze on camera😳). Anyway, the Holy Spirit is the Living Water. Never stagnant or stale. Always fresh and reviving the soul. When He pours Himself out on us, that's when we are quickened, and truly feel alive😍🥰🕊️
Well I think I've commented like 3 times today, and that is 3 too many. What's gotten into me😓 So I'm gonna turn off my phone and not read any more comments, lest I be compelled to share even more unwanted, unasked for opinions...😳

As an INFP... I have found myself to be loud and quite abnoxious in public and also in private. I don't know if this has something to do with it but I am a Gemini as well. So I am quite introverted when charging but really social and goofy in public. Just not giving a damn what people expect or think of me. Just being me. And at work I am cracking jokes, poking people and just playing games with co-workers and having a blast. Of course not all the time but certainly most of the time. It's quite the paradox.. still don't understand but love every minute of it!

As an INFP, what is interesting about the strong moral code we have is that it can go up against another INFP's moral code. Then, who's right?
This has happened to me with at least 2 INFPs. Then, it comes down to well-rounded knowledge and well-working rationale. It truly does because no matter how strong an INFP feels about something, if their understanding is based on a misconstruement of facts, then they are wrong. It was sad when this happened because I felt how sincere one INFP was portraying herself to be, but she wasn't thinking well logically.
Another INFP seemed to be blinded to reality and a soft-spoken participant in gaslighting others' experiences.
One last interesting thing about the moral code is that I have used a trusted ISFP's moral code to check my own! I've also being taught and checked by my ESFP father!

I witnessed such case and i got the answer to your question:
The truth sets free those who can take it and question themselves... those who get offended by the truth and are scared to actually dig deep within... those are the ones calling INFP's rude!

When you say INFP in Portuguese subtitles, something like iron of peace appears. It's funny, it's a mistake but it makes perfect sense.
