- THE BIGGEST BBQ CHALLENGE IN Kansas City! KC BBQ is some of the World's most famous BBQ destinations (also America's most famous BBQ), specializing in ribs, burnt ends, brisket and all kinds of barbeque sandwiches, sausages, chicken, chicken wings, pulled pork, sauces, and much more! Today we are at the famous Q39 bbq (an award winning bbq restaurant known for cooking hot and fast vs low and slow) for a giant wood fired bbq challenge. This bbq platter of smoked meats has a 30 minute time limit, and offered a free meal if completed. This was my first time in KC and i was very excited to try out some of this delicious KC style bbq at such a legendary bbq location! This regions style of bbq is often oak or hickory smoked and accented by famous sweet sauces. Can we defeat this giant challenge? Tune in and see!

I live in Kansas City Missouri .and you can go to a different BBQ place everyday for a couple of months and still not hit them all . This place isn’t the best of them ,but it’s one of the newer one’s. K.C. Is king of BBQ . Come back again Joel and sample some more of our famous BBQ . Enjoy ❤️❤️
Q39 is not real KC bbq. It's more Carolina style. The sauce has very strong vinegar taste to it. Real KC bbq is Gates, Arthur Bryant's, Jack Stack, LC's ect.
I'm from the South where there is great BBQ, but the burnt ends at Oklahoma Joes in KC is the best thing i have ever eaten.

Quality burnt ends are the most delicious delicacies in BBQ by far. They can be a life changing experience.
I need some quality....burnt ends I've tried were not anything special.

Does Jack Stacks have a regular restaurant or are they all the kind attached to another business like a gas station?
I worked in one attached to a BreakTime station. All the food was pre-cooked and all we had to do was heat it up and put into the steam table. The eggs for the breakfast sandwiches had to be cooked and the cobblers did as well but they were ready to put into the oven. The pizzas that we served had to be assembled and ran through the oven but I'm thinking that those may have been a BreakTime product.

The winningest man in bbq, Myron Mixon makes his world famous bbq hot and fast as opposed to low and slow and it works well for him. He’s not known for being the winningest man in bbq for nothing. Awesome video. Keep rocking.

This place opened up in 2014. You should try Gates and Arthur Bryant’s in KC Mo. These 2 have been around a lot longer.

My in-laws live in Overland Park and when we visit them, we like going to Jack Stack BBQ. This video is bittersweet, as it makes me miss visiting my in-laws; but it's cool to see you enjoying the area bbq.

Hi Joel,
My Hungarian grandmother made the best cucumber salad!!
She would put salt on the cucumber after slicing them , put them in the fridge for about an hour ,to sweat them out of water.
She would rise them and make the salad with onions and sour cream. It would have the crunch and you could taste the salt with a little vinegar at the end.

Q39 is one of my favorites. KC Joe's is my 2nd favorite with Jack Stacks being fantastic as well.
I've been putting green apples in my sandwiches and salads lately, it is so good. I bet that coleslaw was awesome. The meat looked wonderful.

In fact, everything is GREAT they even make their own french fries!! Order the "COMBO PLATTER" you can get Brisket, etc... they will take good care of you very friendly people!!!

Q39 is a great place. I have eaten there many times. The KC area has so many great BBQ eateries. And living in KC surrounded by them explains the size of my gut! LOL come back soon and try some more!!!

I love BBQ food and the ribs are my number one choose or the Chicken.
But I have a problem I’m diabetic and I really have to watch how much and what I can eat!!! If the food is really rich then I can only eat small portions but if it’s cooked with out the sauce’s then I can eat a lot more meat.

You can get bbq anywhere in KC but there is only one place to get REAL KC BBQ. KC Joes on Mission rd. The gas station not the fancy restaurant in OP. If you love ribs and burnt ends, this is your only stop. Love the vids hope to see a KC Joes video some day!
