Notice that unlike most other shotgun trickshot videos here, he hits many times without any editing, followed by no high five hysteria. This guy realy can shoot.
Rest in peace Tom. You were a true professional and your shows were much more than just shooting. I first saw one of your televised performances when I was 14 and just starting to shoot trap and hunt. I now shoot trap or sporting clays every week. You were one of my idols I have a great deal of respect for you. You will be missed.
There could be a million folks lined up for grip & grin pictures & he could make each one of them feel like he had nothing else to do that day but talk to them. Class act.
not only was he quite possibly the best shotgun expert to have ever walked this planet, but his good natured performances and grandfatherly mannerism made him one of the most endearing shooters I've ever seen. it would have been frightening if he was ever to engage in actual close quarters military combat. this guy could massacre an entire army it seems, and he is just as proficient with rifles as he is with shotguns.
His act was largely the one he learned from Herb Parsons, who was his inspiration. Parsons was the better shooter, who used a Winchester Model 12 shotgun because the autoloaders of the time weren't fast enough. The Benelli is just barely as fast. When Knapp counts the seven clays, he did this as an homage to the way Parsons did this trick. Parsons used to tell his audiences that "If you hunt WITH your son, you won't have to hunt FOR him!" and "It's more important to be a good sport than a good shot."
Gangsters: turn their guns side-ways and miss every shot. Tom Knapp: turns his gun up-side down in the opposite direction and writes his name on the target.
This was in 1993. Blowing minds a while ago. So great to see this. Obviously an inspiration to the Gould Brothers and all the other trick shooters now.. Thanks for posting it.
Tom Knapp, what a showman! Great presence, great voice and what amazing skill! One hundred thousand rounds a year. That is what he claimed to do to keep his skills up to showmanship status. I believe it!
GOAT! Saw Tom for the 1st time when I was 15 I think, in 85, at the Game Fair in Ramsey, MN. My mind was blown. I was never able to come close to Tom's wizardry, but his influence made me a far batter shot and continuously so. He also influence me as a young man to be patient with others, as well as being kind and respectful to everyone, no matter how inconvenienced or overwhelmed you may feel. He always treated me that way, even with the endless lines of fans and all of the stupid questions - Tom always had time for you! Tom Knapp was a great man!
Wrong, its OBVIOUSLY an abortioner 5000 that shoots from 90000 round clippizines at 200000 rounds per second in full semi automatic with a chainsaw underbarrel attachments and a shotgun and an m23000 tank shell launcher
We tried this yesterday and it was a full sucess. From sober to drunken in less then 10 minutes. This is now our #1 drinking game. Bye bye mcclane in die hard 3... RIP tom!
Really bro... this video should amaze you not make you think of stupid ass game hax. If you actually understood how difficult it is to hit a clay you would be worshiping this guy.
All the guys who teach "sight" shooting claim this is impossible. Instinctive shooting is harder and more expensive to learn but more valuable under stress. The "Shoot Where You Look" techniques from the old days are amazing.
Isn't this how shotgun shooting is taught though? I'm just getting into shotgunning with forgetting what I know about rifles and I'm learning it's about mounting the gun to your face first and never taking your eyes off the target.
EatHelloKitty15 Do you honestly think that Tom Knapp would use something that is not the brand that he is endorsed by? He says it MULTIPLE times "With a Benelli..."
Great shooter, to bad he couldn't take credit for his incredible talent and had to pitch the Benelli. That said, my Mossberg 590 was drooling watching this video, she wants that Benelli to snuggle up against her in the safe.
I was watching a few other people before I watched this guy and wtf! He doesn't take any long breaks and the vid hardly cuts out which is mind blowing! Especially when he's talking about what he's going to do next, most people would break and cut outs or breaks
THERE is a man whose daughter was brought home on time. Not because her dates were afraid of being shot but from fear that her father might not teach them anything about shooting.
У такого дедушки не стал бы яблоки из сада тырить...) ЗЫ подозреваю,что бабка не успевает посуду домой закупать! "Бенелли" - лучшая посудомоечная машина!Нет посуды - нет проблем!" (Слоган)

man just one big benelli commecial, they sure invest a lot into marketing, thats probably why they sell so well, that and because they are just about unstoppable

Class act.
doughesson, he was. I saw him twice, and both times he stayed and talked with everybody.
not only was he quite possibly the best shotgun expert to have ever walked this planet, but his good natured performances and grandfatherly mannerism made him one of the most endearing shooters I've ever seen. it would have been frightening if he was ever to engage in actual close quarters military combat. this guy could massacre an entire army it seems, and he is just as proficient with rifles as he is with shotguns.
yeah, I've seen him with a 22 rimfire at an event in my town, he doesn't miss

Tom Knapp, what a showman! Great presence, great voice and what amazing skill! One hundred thousand rounds a year. That is what he claimed to do to keep his skills up to showmanship status. I believe it!

Saw him do his shows a couple times , nice man and one super shot..
They really are some of the best shotguns. Semi-auto or pump-action, and solid Italian craftsmanship and design.
"You throw the bird, throw the gun, load the gun shoot the bird." :D

Tom sure had fun with his job.
I've never owned a Benelli a day in my life. This video is enough to make me consider changing that.
Mr.Knapp just passed away.Too young, too young-only 62.never be another one like him.R.I.P.,Tom,you will be much missed.
I remember when ESPN used to be good and had shows like this also trap and skeet competitions.
legend has it that he could hit an asprin at 100 yds blindfolded.
I would hate to be a quail where he lives.
I would hate to be anything where he lived.
Awesome!
Super Great Guy. Met him quite a few times at Shot Show. He was an incredible shooter!!
lol i love the end when hes like " oh noooo, oh shit!"
Can someone tell me what kind of shotgun that is? I don't think he mentioned it.
EatHelloKitty15 Do you honestly think that Tom Knapp would use something that is not the brand that he is endorsed by? He says it MULTIPLE times "With a Benelli..."
EatHelloKitty15 sorry, but the stupidity in that was just off the scales
Ur Afail Yeah, the stupidity in your sarcasm detectors...

it's a Benelli Shotgun --- BENELLI----- BENELLI ... shotgun .... lol that model was the M4 : www.benelliusa.com/m4-tactical-shotgun 1900 $
Oil Burner He has to have sponsers.
I know this was a 4 year old comment, but I'm going to tag along, if you have to ask, you don't need a shotgun, you need something else. lol
Great shooter, to bad he couldn't take credit for his incredible talent and had to pitch the Benelli.
That said, my Mossberg 590 was drooling watching this video, she wants that Benelli to snuggle up against her in the safe.

@8:15 dafuq, that was a juggle combo. Didn't expect to see that kind of things outside DMC.

A true legend. There will never be another like him.
I was watching a few other people before I watched this guy and wtf! He doesn't take any long breaks and the vid hardly cuts out which is mind blowing! Especially when he's talking about what he's going to do next, most people would break and cut outs or breaks

If you date her you better be shooting a benelli if your using a Remington he will not approve
THERE is a man whose daughter was brought home on time.
Not because her dates were afraid of being shot but from fear that her father might not teach them anything about shooting.
A precise blast to each testicle. Then, another to your weiner as it flies through the air.

Did he? Somehow I imagined he was quite profane before that. Nah, my imagination.
i dont care what people say Tom Knapp is the best.
Knapp didn't think so. He was inspired by Herb Parsons, and wasn't afraid to tell people that Parsons was the better shooter. Knapp took advantage of newer technology and used finely-tuned guns. Parsons' shotgun act was with Model 12 straight out of the box.
