Stefan, you have single-handedly made my day by releasing this video.
A perfect example of what you're talking about is my overall feelings for Hanna-Barbera. I don't like most Hanna-Barbara cartoons, but I won't deny that H-B was THE studio that showed how an animated TV series could, and should, be done. On top of this, their shows, especially Scooby-Doo and The Flintstones, have made millions of people happy.
And, unpopular opinion time, I love the best of old Disney cartoons (including Silly Symphonies) just as much as the best of Looney Tunes. I love Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck just as much as I love Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. And I love both Mickey and Donald (and their respective cartoons) more than I love Goofy (and his solo cartoons).
Thank you very much Stefan. I admit that I've been guilty of saying the 1970s were a bad time for animation, too. (Although I tend to keep emphasizing TV animation when I say that.) But that doesn't mean that there were still good-to-great animated short films made by independent filmmakers from all over the world, including the NFBC.

What are your thoughts on specials starring animation characters teaching viewers about Kindness and coming together as a community?

It's going to be hard to convince Mr. Enter with that philosophy

Well it's like that with many good things, kind of like with Goodbye Christopher Robin, the biggest successes sometimes would bring negative side effects to the people around them. Though I do give you credit with the last line since it's how I felt about Encanto. I do think it's good, but kind of cliché While I don't know if I would think it really is the winner for Best Animated Feature. but at least it can make an impact on everyone else. 3:39-3:47

This made me think of the "Seinfeld is Unfunny" trope because yeah it was groundbreaking and it had a lot of impact on later more popular shows but then when other shows have "been there, done that", then the original loses its luster and the novelty it once had wears off. Yeah Toy Story at the time in 1995 was awesome and cool to look at because it kind of looked like a computer game and we never had a movie like that before. But now everybody is doing it and when one looks back on this film, they don't see what's so special about it. Also some people blame Toy Story for "destroying 2D animation" and why they started flopping in later years while CG films were making big bucks. Even people who love Toy Story would give it flak for "dooming hand drawn movies".

@@icecreamhero2375 Yeah but that's the trope name. And yes, I cannot stand Friends. Seinfeld had more interesting characters.

I think people treat he man with disrespect. Yes the show made to sell toys but the people behind it wanted to teach kids pro social values. One of the main writers was a moralist..

You should always give credit where it's due even if you don't like something.

I can name at least more than five movies that were influenced by Shrek.A couple of them were decent and most of them are garbage.
    Robots
    Chicken Little
    Hoodwinked
    Doogal
    Arthur and the invisibles
    Happily Never after
    Igor
    Hotel Transylvania
    Gnomeo and Juliet
    Strange Magic
    And strangely enough Dreamwork’s Themselves.

I think the reason Shrek and Hanna-Barbera has been look down by some people is because they were not like Disney, and that's not fair.

That pisses me off because everyone treats Disney like they can do no wrong or make no mistakes. But I thought Disney was kind of generic to me because they have too many movies with too much similarities with one another and in later years they force their crap into your faces which gets under my skin. I was more intrigued by the other guys and I have a fondness for some of the "cheap" stuff.
