Of all the films of 2024 that I've seen (at this point), some of my personal favourites include "Ezra", "Saturday Night", "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice", "Here", and "Juror #2".
What a year this has been. I got to say, 2024 was like a rollercoaster, it has shares of highs and lows from time to time. Get Ready for 2025 in 7 hours, what would be a better way to end the year of with this top 10 best movies list by ours truly, Mr. Coat.
The ones I’m missing are Thelma (I’ll need need to catch it streaming) and The Brutalist which I’m hoping hits our local screens soon! Otherwise, great list!
Is it just me or is disney plus really underapriciated when it comes to documentarys? Because they have been some of the best recent ones iv ever seen with most notably Music and Idea man
i think 2024 wasnt any 2023, but there have still been some great films. I think the common theory that film is dead isnt true just blockbusters have been getting formulaic.
Honestly, despite some people complaining about how "Hollywood doesn't make original movies anymore", I thought this was a great year for original movies as evidenced by how many were on my list. While sequels do often top the box-office charts, it's not that difficult to find movies not based on pre-existing material. They are indeed out there, opening every week at either your local multiplex or the theatres that play primarily independent films.
@@MrCoat I agree. And anyway a decent chunk of the blockbusters i liked, tbh. Well the ones I watched at least. There are issues but i think creativity still exists in the movies, even if some sectors of hollywood dont promote it. and i dont think all the franchises or blockbusters are bad, i like quite a few, there are just a few specific subsets of films which are issues.
