    The explanation is really good . If you can do another video in which you demonstrate how to duck dive it'll be great. Thanks.

      You probably dont give a shit but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the new series on Instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my brother for the last few weeks :)

    I don’t wear contacts but I’m curious, does it help you see better than raw eyes underwater?

    Awesome video. I really struggle with step 3. I can sink my board to where only my butt and one leg are sticking out of the water (with my arms straight and the board parallel about 2 foot under water). But as soon as I try to sink myself, the board starts rising and I end up just barely being under the water (back of my head/body probably on the surface). I have watched so many videos and cant figure out what I should be doing

      Wothout seeing your technique. I would say you need a more thrusting motion when you sink the board and get your body moving with it.

    My board is 7'6 is this too big to duck dive? Thanks😊

      It really depends on how thick of a surfboard and also how big you are. In general, most people turtle roll 7'6 surfboards.

    I have 2 months surfing and I’ve been duck diving all wrong. I would lean in towards the nose of the board and go face forward. The problem I’ve found by doing it this way(mainly on bigger waves) was that my feet would get caught in the white wash and it would push me back.

    Is this technique for short boards only?

    • @elsam154
      @elsam154 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      With a short board it is way easier, however with a longboard it is so hard!

      @@elsam154 So, with a long board turtle roll, and short boards duck dive?

    Great video!! What size board are you using? I’m thinking of getting a 6”0, wondering if that would be suitable for duck diving?

      Hey thanks for your question! Helen is using a 5.9 in this video. A size 6.0 would also be suitable for duck diving, just remember to follow Helen's suggestions for the best technique!! Talking and verbally describing this technique is not very helpful.
