    Carmelo's value dropped initially by word of mouth of Phil Jackson...secondly it further dropped by the coaching style of Billy Donovan of OKC Thunder. I followed the Thunder closely that year and they were scary but once Roberson got hurt it changed everything. Donovan is not a good coach and he tried to turn Carmelo into a pick and pop player which is b.s.

      ATL 1
      Because everyone has his own right to be a critic. No I’m not from Houston, but I’ve been there before, does that count? (Sarcasm) 🙄

    • @daryllumpkin265
      @daryllumpkin265 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @ATL 1 Do you have to be from Houston to love basketball which is a "team" sport? Just because someone comments on a team doesn't mean they are hating. Plus there is no reason to hate on a team that's never going to win a championship with that style of play.

    • @infiniteimprovement
      @infiniteimprovement 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      My only problem with his style of play is his manipulation of the refs and the rules.

    • @daryllumpkin265
      @daryllumpkin265 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @ATL 1 Everyone is not trying to win a championship. Some players are happy to be in the league some are playing for the check and some others want the fame, cars, houses and women. The reason James Harden gets talked about because he wants the MVPs and championship(s). So that's why we aren't talking about the rest. If he wants those things, he has to be a team player. You are not going to win a championship by yourself in a "team" sport. He should've played tennis or golf or any other individual sport. When it comes to basketball you have to be a "team player".

    • @daryllumpkin265
      @daryllumpkin265 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @ATL 1 I feel you. Because hating has become popular. I don't have time to hate. I just call it as it is. James Harden is a winner but you have to allow others on your team to shine too if you want to go deep in the playoffs and win chips. Case and point, let's take Kyrie Irving. He wins a chip with LeBron in Cleveland and then he wants to leave because he wants to lead a team and win. Why didn't you lead Cleveland before LeBron came back? So you go to Boston and they end up playing better without you in the lineup. When you come back healthy the next season the team is worse than the year before. Now you are in Brooklyn with KD. It is not easy to win a championship especially when you want to be the main piece and not willing to share the spotlight. James Harden is nice but you can't win by yourself when you play a team sport.

    40 million a year? Plus commercials? Bro, CP3 got it made. All he has to do is stay healthy and play hard. Then the league will trade him to a team with a chance to win. No team that is in a place to contend has enough salary to match in a trade without making their team worse. He's not good enough NOW let alone for the duration of his contract to make it worthwhile. His union activity that allowed him this contract at this age is what will keep him off a contender, but that was a choice he made to go after the money. Teams aren't punishing him for it.....He's simply not worth it.

      Mentok 302 - Trade CP3 for Kyrie right now. With a healthy Durant, the Nets could come out of the East. Kyrie is a ball hog that wants to play the point and the off guard. He can go to OKC and score 40 every night. CP3 will get everybody involved and he is a clutch playoff performer.

Melo's only karma to me is chasing the bread rather than the ring. The worst thing Ive heard about Melo is that he is unhappy if he doesn't produce what he was supposed to in a win and looks to uplift ppl if he played well and they lost, and that's from Billups. Melo is a good dude from what I see, a great deal of phalantropy and a good team mate, as I yet to hear a former team mate bash him. Paolo Gregor Tuazon
      Markelle Fultz- He’s a bust.
      Victor Oladipo- He’s a shooting guard
      Goran Dragic and Ricky Rubio- Neither have ever been a superstar in the NBA. Dragic was an all star “replacement” and Rubio has never seen an all star vote.
      Trey Young- He wasn’t even Rookie of the year. He’s leading his team to the bottom of the standings in the weakest conference let alone the entire NBA.
      De’Aaron Fox- His team is playing better basketball without him on the floor.
      Kemba Walker- He’s played almost an entire decade in the NBA and has only won 3 playoff games in his career. Has yet to get past the first round of the playoffs in the weakest conference.
      The only valid cases you’ve made on your list would be Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, Russell Westbrook and Steph Curry (who’s out for possibly the rest of the season) because those are players who have proven to be superstars in the NBA and could get their team over the hump to win games or series in the playoffs where shit really matters. Also this validates my case for Chris Paul still being a top 5 PG in the league despite the contract that he’s earned.
