(7/24/19) Railfanning Mountain View, CA [ft. Mission Bay Local]

On the way to and back from my therapist in Palo Alto, I stuck around at Mountain View. I called up the Caltrain radar for the first time in a while to see if I could hear any news on the freights. And wouldn't you know it, I was able to make out that the UP Mission Bay Local was coming through. So I caught that. Success! I might see if I can catch it again tonight, but after that, I won't have a shot till mid-August.

If you play train sim world, they are gonna release the Caltrain route from San Francisco to San Jose on August 15

I don't, but that's nice to hear. Hopefully it looks as good as TSW does, or at least appears to in trailers and promotional images. The Train Simulator 18 Caltrain route, as well as TS18 in general, was highly disappointing. Looking at photos of the Caltrain route, it looks insanely hyper-realistic and far better than the half-assed TS one. The gallery coaches do look a little weird from farther away, but the trains look great. Unfortunately the scenery is still abysmal, so I'm not sure I'm entirely sold on it yet. If it went on a crazy sale, sure, but we all know that's not happening.
