    Once the universities are built, things will grow. The students there will help build the local economy, and students may even settle and find work there, as businesses setup offices around the universities.
    China has experience doing these kinds of things already. also, when AI starts taking over jobs, people will be more concerned with finding comfortable places to live with more space, Beijing is overcrowded, and the apartments are too small for large families. and Xiong'an will become a great alternative. especially with the transport links to Beijing.
    Another thing about AI, is humans will move away from a labor economy, to an education economy. where peoples time will be spent on learning. while AI and robot's do the labor. Education wont just be for young people anymore, it can be a lifelong pursuit. So, with that in mind, Xiong'an could become a very futuristic city, as a central hub for learning and education.

    • @2782Jack
      @2782Jack หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      work at what? it's a ghost town, you can't open a restaurant or store because there's no one living there and if you need to open a factory you need to find areas that have the resources you need like copper or tin or sardines if you make canned sardines, you can't just ship fish 400 miles inland for canning unless you like eating rotten fish
      the core issue is that without jobs, there's no money, the Chinese government basically paid for a bunch of buildings to be made, and now they have to pay people to move there, and then pay them for work that doesn't need to be done, and somehow after giving away all this money, they will then get tax money back from the city, taxing money they just gave to the graduates, effectively just paying a bunch of people to exist somewhere
      Planned cities usually work because they are planned around an industry like farming, fishing, or mining but you really can't just build a city because it's just a collection of buildings without an industry to support it, a giant concrete campout without anything of value but what you already brought with you

    • @amadeusamwater
      @amadeusamwater หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@2782Jack Give the graduates each a monthly allowance so they can shop in the stores, eat in the restaurants and ride the trains. It will make the city look like it's busy. If you're going to have a fake city, why not fake citizens.

      Balls die only because of their original concepts and refusal to change, in particular brick and mortar retail became uncompetitive which is ironic since the reason why they exist is that they drive small shops out of business.
      Today some businesses continue to flourish like restaurants, entertainment, support services like maintenance and repair. Some products can't be sold without a personal experience although the sale still has to be made online.
