Do you do secret free movies section for Australia?not one of your recommendations are free on TH-cam in Australia.Netflix does the same shift as well.
Recently lost power for 6 days with Hurricane Milton. Generator enabled me to power up the dvd collection and the 13th Warrior was a great 2 hour diversion. Hadn’t watched it in a few years and it is very well done and should have been a much bigger box office success. Highly recommend giving it a watch. Payback also a no brainer I’d watch Mel recite poetry for 2 hours :)
Both fantastic movies. I place Payback above 13th Warrior and I also like to think 13th Warrior is set in the same universe as Outlander(the 2008 movie by Howard McCain), another great film in its own right
As a former film critic, I enjoy this channel more than most exposing films available on various sources. I actually make notes to seek out the films Darren recommends. Not disappointed generally.
On Cinema At The Cinema are the best movie critics ever. Finished couple years ago but still worth a look. You may not have seen every movie they discuss.
The Keep is from one of my favorite authors F. Paul Wilson. The Keep is set within the series "The Adversary". The main series is The Repairman Jack and The Keep is kind of a prequel. Mix of action and paranormal.
Sad to see TH-cam blast the ads with excessive volume. We went through this with the networks, taking years to balance the sound. It would be great if you mentioned this problem.
I pay for Premium and have the opposite problem. The volume is so low I have to use subtitles. I am slightly hard of hearing so there is that. Please don't complain. Just turn it down. Thanks!
The 13th Warrior was my go to film for my Grade 8 class to demonstrate, Islam, Vikings and Beawolf. And a fun flick. I'v seen it hundereds of times, I still love it, and some extras were children of a close friend. Cool stuff. Cheers from the Pacific West Coast of Canada
THE KEEP is Mann's second feature/third movie. He had already done THIEF as a first feature . JERICHO MILE was a TV film - but all the elements of Mann's work are there.
I agree, "The Keep" is highly underrated. Watched it on its release in the theater in 83. An interesting tale of an ancient evil in the Molasar drawn out from its "Keep" by the evil done by the Nazis. This summons this evils nemesis, the Glaeken portrayed by Scott Glenn to do battle. And to top it all off, you can't go wrong with a music score by Tangerine Dream 🎼🎶🎵🎵🎶🤙
I saw it on release because i`m a big F Paul Wilson fan damn i wasnt disappointed not a perfect adaptation of the book but close... its hard to believe how much the film was f***ed around with though mostly by the studio mind the death of the SFX director before he had finished editing led to a huge loss in the effects ... You have to wonder what the original 210min film was like before the studios butchered it...i mean it went from over 3hrs to a 90min film
I was a kid when the “13th Warrior Came” out. I vividly remember being sneaky and shutting the TV off in my room late at night while I tried to watch this on Stars. Took me like a month of watching bits and pieces before I saw the whole thing.
I read that Mann meant for it to be much longer, but it got cut into a shorter movie. So much got cut out, but it kind of works because the lack of explanation and setup works pretty well.
Thanks for creating this Channel, I watched the remake of The Getaway yesterday and it was time well spent. I am a major Michael Mann fan, if I remember correctly the first of his movies was THIEF. The soundtrack was from Tangerine Dream and the cast was great. I forget the name of the song that has the lyrics goes, And Every Once in a while The Bad Guys Getaway … lol I mean the level of skill to be a Highline Thief, with rarely if ever using a weapon to pull off the robbery amazes me. I’m not sure was the Director, but another great movie that is free on ARTIFLIX is JACKAL. What a fantastic cast, Bruce Willis plays an International Contract Assassin and remains two steps ahead of Sidney Pointier and Richard Gere playing an IRA Imprisoned Soldier who was setup by the Jackal. The movies years ago was a way for the average working person to escape Reality for cheap, as a kid a Matinee co 50 cents, and with penny candy stores, pizza was 15 cents, point being a dollar would last the whole day. I feel sorry for kids today who need at least 20 bucks to see a movie. Thanks for a wonderful TH-cam Channel 👍🎬🎥🍿
The version of Payback that is on TH-cam is the director's cut which is a good 15 to 20 mins shorter than the theatrical cut with an entirely different 3rd Act. Not to mention look and tone.
Good list. Thank you. The movie "The Keep" I saw on it's release and I saw it because I read the novel. Very different stories but I recomend the book and seeing the movie because we now have big screens and I recomend using headphone to enjoy the great sound track..
I honestly feel The 13th Warrior is the most underrated pick of all time. I loved the book and I loved the movie. It might be Banderas best movie. A very solid list.
Yes! The Keep! That's what it was. I remember seeing it in the R section when I was a kid. I always meant to watch it, but forgot what it was called. After watching this video, I watched it. Wow! It was worth the wait! Thanks!
No, Antonio Banderas' character in the 13th Warrior is NOT a warrior. He was a scribe or member of the king's retinue. He didn't know what he was doing. It gave his character a lot of credit when he stood against the cavalry.
I was so happy to be able to watch The Keep. I've been wanting to watch it for a l long time and finally was able to do it. I'm watching Space Above and Beyond now. Haven't seen it in a long time too.
I was actually looking forward to recommending The Thirteenth Warrior , one of my favorite movie of all time, but clicked on the link and got "This video is not available in your country". But, yeah, a solid list of films.
I had no idea Guy Ritchie directed Legend of the Sword. It's one of my favorite versions of the film despite all its shortcomings, so that makes sense I guess.
I highly recommend to anyone who likes "The 13th Warrior" to get the book, now hear me out. Even if you don't read the book get it for the inside history of the book found in the footnotes. It's fascinating the sources and inspiration that Michael Chritton drew on to write this book.
The Keep is epic gothic horror! It's like book 3 in The Adversary Cycle, which I can't recommend highly enough. The book is also very different from the movie & even more scary TBH. The movie has several cuts, even the director's cut, which I recommend, was cut down from 210mins to 120, more's the pity.

Movies on YT are literally unwatchable on the TV because of this.

Thanks a bunch, got me really excited to see these. None are available in the UK. Cheers.

Payback is a great flick. The theatrical release is so much better than the easier to find director's cut.
Definitely
50/50
One of the best edited films.
Ditto.
One of my favourite movies . 👍
I was a kid when the “13th Warrior Came” out. I vividly remember being sneaky and shutting the TV off in my room late at night while I tried to watch this on Stars. Took me like a month of watching bits and pieces before I saw the whole thing.
Watched The Keep recently, and it's great. 4th watch and though it's dated, it's totally re-watchable.
I read that Mann meant for it to be much longer, but it got cut into a shorter movie. So much got cut out, but it kind of works because the lack of explanation and setup works pretty well.

“As slowly paced as Robert Duval at this age.”😂😂😂 that’s cold brother
It is a good movie though.
The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus is one of my favorite Terry Gilliam movies, and it also happens to be Heath Ledger's last.
That was fantastic!
That is one of the best movies ever
I like Gilliam’s movies.
Guy Ritchie's King Arthur is so cool. Very rewatchable
Received some bad press when it came out but it kept me entertained. Surprisingly fun.
Your channel is the best AND.... my Helix Midnight Elite is over the top....worth every penny

Scott Glen
Sir Ian McKellen
Jurgen Prochnow
Gabrielle Byrne
Robert Prosky
THE KEEP WAS FREAKING AWESOME! IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES. 13th warrior I've watched over and over. Was an excellent movie.
The more I watch Wrath of Man the more I get out of it.
The Keep is available on Amazon Prime in the UK.
Yeah, THE KEEP was surprisingly good.
If you read the book not so much.
@@JustanOlGuy copy that
Any movie Peter Stormare is in (The Brothers Grimm), I will watch. He is such as fantastic actor.
Yes!!!
I'm still lovin' my expired mattress. It screws up lower back just the way I need it to so I can keep getting those insurance checks.
The Keep, King Arthur, and 13th Warrior are some of my favorite movies! Great finds!
The Keep was Michael Mann's 2nd movie, his 1st was Thief.
13th warrior is one of my fav ever movies, love it
No, Antonio Banderas' character in the 13th Warrior is NOT a warrior. He was a scribe or member of the king's retinue. He didn't know what he was doing. It gave his character a lot of credit when he stood against the cavalry.
Great list this time - I've queued up 4 of them. Thanks!
Michael Manns first film is Theif starring James Caan.
Yep, and a much better movie than The Keep, as well.
I had read the book so I saw The Keep in the theater when it came out. You were much more impressed with it than I was. But I had, read the book.
The 13th Warrior is awesome!
The keep wasn't Michael Mann's first movie. His first movie is Theif. Released way back in 1981.
Even before this came out...I had already watched 6 of the 10. Some quality offerings.
I love Fracture. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE FACULTY!
Agree with the choice of "Payback"!!!
Lucy Lui ..."Hubba Hubba!"
Edward Scissors Hands, Willow!
Your are great! Thank you for the recommendations
Thanks for pointing these out. Folks forget that TH-cam has some great movies available.
Just not to long along watched a Tom Cruise movie with Tim Curry as The Devil. I was absolutely stunned.
I was so happy to be able to watch The Keep. I've been wanting to watch it for a l long time and finally was able to do it. I'm watching Space Above and Beyond now. Haven't seen it in a long time too.
"Fracture" is actually outstanding.
I love Day Of The Soldado. A perfect action movie. I think it's S.Sollima same as Gomorrah and 000. They all look great. No jerky camera work.
Faculty was one of my favourite 90’s horror films
Thanks DvD! Great selection, and for free!
Thief was Mann's first. The Keep is getting a new HD transfer soon.
The 13th Warrior is an excellent choice for the #1 slot Luv that movie
Some cool flicks, I’ve never seen The Keep, I will certainly be checking that one out
Plussss, The Count of Monte Cristo is also free on TH-cam. Amazing movie.
I was actually looking forward to recommending The Thirteenth Warrior , one of my favorite movie of all time, but clicked on the link and got "This video is not available in your country". But, yeah, a solid list of films.
There are some really good movies on this list.
Highly like your recommendation of The Keep!
I love The Keep as its one of my guilty secrets
Flight of the Navigator is on there too, for free.
I really loved The Faculty - very underrated and an essential watch!
I love your Goonies shirt...can you tell us where you got it in case it is still available to purchase?
Do any of the movies reference the photo on the video? The girl with the box and the tentacles? Or nah?
I had no idea Guy Ritchie directed Legend of the Sword. It's one of my favorite versions of the film despite all its shortcomings, so that makes sense I guess.

Glad to see someone else loves the 13th warrior. I watch it every time I have a chance
When I look it up on TH-cam "The Keep" is a buy or rent movie.
13th warrior is so good. It’s hard to believe it bombed. I mean, it’s really great.
Dude your awesome! Thank you boss
A Night in Old Mexico, The Keep, Fracture are all great.
It's your list (thank you for making it!) but SICARIO 2 IS ABSOLUTELY #1 BAD-ASS!
The DVD release of "The Keep" doesn't have Tangerine Dream soundtrack
The Legend of the Sward. GuyRichie was in the edit room trying to jurk your eye all the way through. And when during the darkages was anything was PG13. Darkages are all R-rateing.
Every time I try to watch a free with ads movie on TH-cam it never loads. I get the loading/buffering circle, but after a short time it jumps to another movie and starts over again. It's never reached a movie that actually loads and plays.

For real man - Ritchies king Arthur is surprisingly fun!
And wrath of man so good!

Can you do some samurai film suggestions?
Can't watch any of the links - they all say their private
Love 💙 the Bigfoot movies in Kentucky
Sicario the first was brilliant. The second one just as worth watching.
Hahahah showing they flying with helium shoes lol
Solid recommendations to be sure!
13th warrior is one of the best movies.
You have to state that this is only in the US
"My Name Is Nobody" is a unique western starring Henry Fonda and Terrence Stamp is also available for free on TH-cam.
Terence Hill
I've seen some of them but they are worth watching again especially payback, which is better than the original
Got 3 here I’ll be watching this weekend brah thnks
Thanks for this. See you next video.

Better than the Netflix lineup for sure. Well except for Arcane.
The KEEP is amazing!
Halloween Movies? 1974's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre!

Videos blocked in my country, but thanks for the effort.
The aliens they said thank you to bring it to us and for the tow cause they forgot they wallet jijijij
Oops Darren! In Fracture Ryan Gosling is the Prosecutor who tries the case against Anthony Hopkins. He's not Hopkins lawyer. Great movie though.
Wrath of a Man , 13th warrior unfortunately not free in the Uk
Gave up searching for the rest
I love the 13th warrior
