Charles Bradley didn't sweat...his whole body cried. Rest in Power, your soul is missed.

Thanks for reacting to this. I saw Charles perform at Osheaga music festival in Montreal in a line up that featured Garbage, The Cure, New Order, Beck, Alt-J, Jesus and Mary Chain, etc and Charles’s had the alt rock crowd wrapped around his finger and hanging on his every word. He was a gentle soul. While I am an alt-rock fan I love music from any genre that connects with me emotionally, even a country song or two I’ll keep those to myself lol.
On that note my obligatory suggestion is Sarah McLaughlan’s cover of XTC’s Dear God blew me away….rage and vocal fry in her voice is unusual and really hot. merci bien mes amis.

I love Sarah McLaughlan, but I have never liked that song. I shall give it a try with her voice. Mike has always liked that one - G

He was born in Gainesville, Florida but grew up in Brooklyn, New York... Ran away at 14 to escape poor living conditions and his mom. Was homeless and living in the subway. Was a James Brown impersonator to make money and got discovered in his 50's. Released his first album at 62. Died at 68 from stomach cancer....

No one really knows about him, but please check out Corby Yates, a young blues extraordinaire who sadly took his own life years ago. The best guitarist I have ever seen or heard, and sings. No other guitar backing him. You will be blown away. His covers of Stevie Ray Vaughn are mesmerizing

How can you not like Sabbath? Ozzy is in my view one of the premier entertainers of all time, especially live. In an attempt to change your view, I recommend you check out their self titled track, called Black Sabbath, from their debut album, also self titled. It's slow and ponderous which gives it its special personality. It wouldn't work if it was faster. The slowness allows Ozzy to insert little voice fills and laughter and such between the lines. Check it out. I think you will like it. I also recommend an acoustic song called Orchid which leads into Lord of this World, which you should listen to together. You should also check out War Pigs, from the Vietnam era.
You mentioned Paranoid, which I think is probably one of their worst.

You can’t say that. Because there is bands and solo artist that millions of people love. And I can’t stand any of there music. Some examples for me are Metallica, Pearl Jam, Oasis & Nirvana.

Sometimes it feels like the only person. Who has listened to this cover that doesn’t like it.

On the subject of Black Sabbath and Soul, I just have to suggest this hilarious and ingenious mashup of The Temptations and Black Sabbath titled Get Ready for the Grave (@Ginger: the vocals are exclusively by The Temptations, thus unless you dislike them as well, this might be save for you to listen to! 😉): th-cam.com/video/JR3uz8rq4ng/w-d-xo.html

Now that was a really interesting take on the song. You should also listen to the version that Ozzy did with his daughter, Kelly.
    Good one guys

No they definitely definitely shouldn’t. Sharron obviously only a anted them to it. To try and keep Kelly’s singing career going.
