this was helpful... picked up a cheap us general toobox with a few slides that are jacked. Normally I'd pass on that but the deal was just too good so I figured I'd take a chance. Thanks :)
@@wesleyg I don't remember mine being that much, I thought they were $26 each. But regardless, compared to others on the market their casters are very heavy duty built. They're metal centers, not plastic, like pretty much all others you'll find, and the plastic ones cost just as much.
I’ve also got 2 black 44” boxes. They obviously came from different assembly lines. They have different lengths of the drawer pull. They have different locations of the slides. They have different slides. One releases up on the left and down on the bottom. The other is the opposite. I installed one drawer in the wrong box and there was no way to release the latch to remove the drawer. After a day of messing with it I just slammed it open really hard and it broke the release tab and finally came out.
I ordered these at the same store on the same day, so that's probably why mine at least match one another. There's definitely a couple different variations between the different serial numbers.
It is the 44" model, but they actually only measure 42" wide. I think they're 5" casters. I just bought them straight from Harbor Freight, their prices are on par with getting random casters elsewhere.
@@StanMisiano thanks bro. I’m keeping my eyes on these when it comes on sale. Last time I checked, it was $250 or something but I missed the deal and now it’s $350. I also just realized that the drawers are not soft close. Has this became an issue to you?
Unfortunately I forget the exact price it's been so long since i purchased them. They weren't super expensive though, considering they are heavy duty, full extention slides.
Very helpful video. I just picked up a Harbor Freight toolbox for $50 with 2 bad drawers.
That's a steal of a price! Nice pick up.

Nice deal, sounds like the way to go.
Great video. How/where did you get the nice foam cutouts for your tools?
It's called Kaizen Foam. There's a few videos on the channel that explains the entire process if you wanted to check them out.
Great idea! Do you have a link for those casters?
I don't, but there's a number on Harbor Freight's website that you can call to order the ones that correspond to your toolbox.
Nice idea to replace the fixed casters. I ordered mine today, but they were unable to tell me if they came as a pair or not. Did yours come as a pair?
No, I'm pretty sure they're sold individually
@@StanMisiano dang! I was hoping they weren't $36 each...:-(

Is your toolbox 44 in right? If so, what is the size of the new caster? Thanks bro

No, I'd rather them not be soft close to be honest.
Where can I find the replacement drawer slides I can’t find them on harbor freights website
There's a contact number on the website, I called that then used the serial number off the back of the toolbox.
What was the cost of the slides
It depends on the model I believe.
LOL, somehow it had never occurred to me to simply jack up my toolboxes to replace the fixed casters with swivels.
Haha Best way to do it. Lol
i was thinking the box had to be flipped upside down 💀
Don't even have to empty the drawers this way. Lol
@@StanMisiano its exactly how i did it on my gen 2 56in w/ the top box before ever even seeing this video lol. definitely works!
Super easy!
How much were the sliders?

I can’t find the caster???
You need to call the number on their website and use the serial number on the back of the box
