Thanks so much for this. I’m new to fallout shelter and have really made some big errors. You have clarified a lot. How do you know what room calls for what kind of person please? Could you make a video on that. Even a quick one.
Thanks for the comment and glad my content is proving helpful. As for rooms: Power = Strength Water = Perception Food = Agility Radio = Charisma Amongst all 103 episodes I do talk about it 🙂
I have a few questions if you may answer them what is better overseers office top floor or having all my best on a power plant also how many food and electricity and water rooms do i need for the 200 dwellers i dont want to over do it
@@KnowitallGamingthank you so much watched all the way up to episode 8 going to watch the rest just wanted an idea because ive gotten a bit ahead of the videos
Where can I find a video that goes over the basic information. I pretty much read all the tooltips and the 29 help files, but I still don't know a lot of basic stuff like how the stats interact with combat. I don't know what endurance does at all. I don't understand what leveling does in general because unlike the actual Fallout game it doesn't seem to affect the stats, though it does seem to affect hit points. Oh and I was amused to discover that the game has some sort of algorithm against inbreeding the, but I don't know exactly how it works or even how to tell if two people are related aside from putting them in the rec room together. Finally I've accumulated a lot of junk and though it probably has something to do with crafting later on, I don't have any idea of what I should save or throw away
I cover pretty much everything you ask throughout the series but a good place to head is the Fallout Shelter gaming wiki. (E)ndurance dictates how many HP a dweller gets when they level up. Agility determines frequency of attacks etc. Thanks for the comment
I played this game for the first time this week. It's pretty fun and can get addicting fast if you care about your vault dwellers. I have 26 people in my vault now, and things are humming along, though power keeps going out. How can I keep my power consistently high, while also growing my population?
It is all about that vertical green bar on your resources you want to build enough power plants to keep it as far to the left as possible. Otherwise, when you go below that bar rooms will start shutting down! Thanks for the comment 🙂
@@slappy8941 just not so much as to create unbeatable incidents :) each time you upgrade a room the incident strength also increases, and the average dweller level also increases the incident strength.
Yes, you can on mobile and PC however this can also brick your vault. Also I play the game in these series with no RL money used or "cheats" thanks for the comment 😎
I just have them in individual rooms im to early so im making sure i dont upgrade before i can get overseers quarters but when i can upgrade the quarters i will put it underneath like you did
I came back to the game after watching the Amazon show. I really enjoy getting all the characters from the show. My vault actually looks somewhat similar to you. I put training areas on the left were there is a only a two space and match to the type of room. I use the extra three space to the far right to either double up the room or the residence. I put the overseer's office on the first floor past a 3 spot residence..it seems to mess with the deathclaws. Question: Why do people put like 6 elevators in a row on the first floor? Is this something I'm not figuring out? Also...thanks to your comments, I learned about the Mr. Handy going to the wasteland ability...that was neat. He's like a slow grow savings account, :)
As a long time player of Fallout Shelter (and I know this video was released a year ago, better late than never), I have some pointers for making your vaults: I would remove the first elevator next to the vault door and place 2 Power Generator rooms (a triple and a double) with an elevator at the very end. Never place an empty room next to the vault door because you will need your strongest dwellers with STR and END stats for when Raiders, Ghouls, Deathclaws and for anything else that will eventually attack your vault. The empty rooms eg. Living Quarters and Storage rooms should be at the very bottom with a gap of dirt in-between your other rooms, when you can afford to of course. Doing this method will stop fires and burrowing rodents from spreading throughout the rest of the vault and it doesn't have an affect on morale and resources if those empty rooms are breached or set on fire. You can place elevators on the very ends of the vault after the first 2 levels have been setup with your strongest dwellers first and then the rest after them. Elevators do get more expensive the more you place them in your vault so be mindful of this. - Another helpful tip is to name your dwellers in such a way that it makes it easier for you to find a specific dweller so for example, you place "Paul Goodman" who has AGI 4 in the Diner. I usually put an initial or two in front of their names to represent the job they are doing but other people have other similar ways, it's a personal preference thing but I think it makes it easier. - Last but not least, for Wasteland excursions, I normally send out 2 teams of dwellers with high END with a gun, 6 Stimpaks and 3 Radaway. They can last for hours out there and bring back a lot of loot and their return to vault time is halved or more than halved or you can pay with Nuka Bottles for an immediate return if you can afford to use them. A lot of the time you will find your own ways of finding what suits your playstyle but for longevity and growth you can follow how I tend to play. Best of luck Overseers!
Thanks for the detailed comment this series is currently 110 episodes long having played FS since 2015 the strategy I use is for a very specific purpose radio rooms don’t level up dwellers. I talk about it further down the line as well as max SPECIAL Uber dwellers and E10 +E7 for max HP dwellers. But again thanks for the very informative and detailed comment. 😎👍
How do I make legendary babies and what are the new "protectrons"?? Please advice. Thank you, your video extremely helpful to me. Appreciate it immensely!
Legendary babies are extremely difficult even if you breed two legendary's with maxxed out SPECIALS together the chance of a legendary baby are very very small. Two fully maxed out parents (SPECIAL 140) will have a ~6.6% chance of producing a legendary child, and a ~13.3% chance of producing a rare child. Protectrons are robots from the Fallout universe that were help robots before the bombs fell. Thanks for the comment
Just stumbled across this series, because I started fallout shelters again just to realize I actually am bad at these type of games. I'm just wondering, why you built your first living quarters on the top row instead of immediately start the living quarters on the 3rd row?
Hi thanks for the comment just to accommodate the initial dwellers then move once caps are more free flowing. The only thing that happens when you level up a dweller is their HP goes up. Also the higher the (E)ndurance the more HP they get max is 10 E with a +7 Endurance outfit (Legendary Wasteland Gear) hope that helps 😎👍

I've had this game installed for years but forgot about it, so now I have a dweller thats been in the wasteland for half a year and somehow survived because I haven't played it, so I only need to wait 80 days for him to rrturn
I just came back to play the game, but I think I built too much, and now have food shortages, I am now trying to restabilise the vault, and hopefully send more dwellers to the wasteland to collect more caps and weapons, any tips?
If you've really borked it you can always start another vault, depending on how many dwellers you have level up your diner to produce more food and watch those vertical lines keep them as far left as possible. Thanks for the comment
Of course they can I pretty much always swap them back out of (C)harisma gear once pregnant back into their original outfit and move them back to their production room thanks for the comment
Thanks for the comment, it is for the future layout this is planning ahead to have a top floor that works well for killing incidents and a -1 floor that is also strong to deal with incidents. Feel free to skip ahead in this series to see what I mean 🙂

is there any benefit to levelling up dwellers? Do they become stronger or better workers in some way? I know the negatives of levelling up which are they'll have lower overall health (from low Endurance) and incidents (fire, radroaches, etc) will be worse. I've been avoiding level ups as much as possible except for accidental clicks.
On survival mode the health benefit of higher endurance before levelling makes sense however in normal mode it is negligible difference. Also levelling dwellers has no effect on incidents it is levelling up the rooms that makes incidents tougher. Hope that helps and thanks for the comment
@@KnowitallGaming average level of your vault dwellers does indeed have an effect on incidents. All 3 avg lvl, room size and room level affect them. Room size being the least problematic one specially since by increasing its size you also increase the number of dwellers that can deal with the incident, then avg level of dwellers, this can have a significant effect if you are leveling them with very low endurance as the incidents will scale higher than the hp you just gained, and lastly the one that does affect it most being room level.
@@epicspoon6985 thanks for the comment and fair enough, never saw significant effect on my playthroughs. Get your level 1 dwellers endurance up to 10. When they level up to 50 their hp I'd maxed. Vs leveling a 49 dwellers dex to max. There hp will be lower

Hello, I recently started playing FS mobile version, on my PC using Memu, but I see something strange, and it's that I just send a dweller to explore the wasteland, it doesn't take more than 10 minutes and he's already finding Deathclaws, mutants and even behemoths , and the craziest thing is that equipped with a 10mm he/she kills them xD, I know from experience that this is NOT the case, because I played version 1.13.8 on PC at the time and the enemies you find are something progressive, starting with mutarachas, ants etc., and when you're between 1-2 days, that's when the big enemies start to appear, what do you think could be what is happening to me? I'm playing version 1.15.3 PS: I also tried it on Bluestack 5 and the same thing happens :-( , I want to know if they are bugs or it is something new from the version, Great Video!

I always put the diner as my first room, so that when raiders break in, they're immediately met with the agility people with guns. I'm not on survival difficulty, so I'd rather get the intruders dealt with ASAP, because the longer you have intruders, the more resources you lose.

Great video however I didn’t get a single rare dweller on my first day so I had like no one that’s half decent to send to the wasteland
For some reason this went into review! Long term rare and legendary dwellers are actually worse than a lvl1 dweller levelled up at max endurance health wise! Thanks for the comment
Dude your luck is so good

Thanks so much for this. I’m new to fallout shelter and have really made some big errors. You have clarified a lot. How do you know what room calls for what kind of person please? Could you make a video on that. Even a quick one.
Thanks for the comment and glad my content is proving helpful. As for rooms:
Power = Strength
Water = Perception
Food = Agility
Radio = Charisma
Amongst all 103 episodes I do talk about it 🙂
I have a few questions if you may answer them what is better overseers office top floor or having all my best on a power plant also how many food and electricity and water rooms do i need for the 200 dwellers i dont want to over do it

I knew bout most of these tips but i still had a problem organization of my rooms bc i would rush thru it. Thanks, I'ma take my time this time round👍😎

Upgrade your power rooms before you start expanding.
@@KnowitallGaming Helpful advice, my vault is powerful and rocking now, thank you.
@@slappy8941 I have 87 people in my vault now, making good progress 👍
@@slappy8941 just not so much as to create unbeatable incidents :) each time you upgrade a room the incident strength also increases, and the average dweller level also increases the incident strength.
I got a rusty fat man in my first few lunch boxes and a really good dweller 😂 both glowed gold
If you haven’t found out if you manage to change the date and time it helps with this game

No idea on the 6 elevators seems daft to me thanks for the comment appreciate it
do you prerecord these videos and then do a voice over over the video? just curious haha

As a long time player of Fallout Shelter (and I know this video was released a year ago, better late than never), I have some pointers for making your vaults:
I would remove the first elevator next to the vault door and place 2 Power Generator rooms (a triple and a double) with an elevator at the very end.
@KnowitallGaming Thanks for helping me with those questions.

Just stumbled across this series, because I started fallout shelters again just to realize I actually am bad at these type of games. I'm just wondering, why you built your first living quarters on the top row instead of immediately start the living quarters on the 3rd row?
Also, what does the level ups actually do?
Hi thanks for the comment just to accommodate the initial dwellers then move once caps are more free flowing. The only thing that happens when you level up a dweller is their HP goes up. Also the higher the (E)ndurance the more HP they get max is 10 E with a +7 Endurance outfit (Legendary Wasteland Gear) hope that helps 😎👍
quick tip turn off wifi go to settings go to date and time in settings set your time to one day ahead go back to the game repeat oh reset your time after words your welcom

Thanks for the comment

is there any benefit to levelling up dwellers?
Sounds like you've done quite the deep dive on the games mechanics which I have now also done and indeed old school thought was just room size and level now I see average dweller level has an effect as well!
Get your level 1 dwellers endurance up to 10. When they level up to 50 their hp I'd maxed. Vs leveling a 49 dwellers dex to max. There hp will be lower

Wait, did they finally update this? I did basically everything the game had previously and abandoned, but if they've added stuff...
For the 25th Anniversary they updated the mobile version of Fallout Shelter it is the first update in 4 years. However, the console and steam versions have not been updated.
I left the spot under the vault doors empty because it's the perfect size for the overseers office. Can I put the radio station under the office. I always move the barracks somewhere else I now have a gym there. Vincent's all six in the generator room is armed with a flamethrower, they can quickly be moved to the gym whenever there's someone at the door. No makes it past the gym.
Sounds like a good plan and layout, thanks for the comment as well

Mmm I've not paid attention to the exploration log I'll have to send a dweller out again and check to see what kind of encounters they are getting I'll address it in a future episode of the mobile series. Thanks for the comment and question appreciate it

I always put the diner as my first room, so that when raiders break in, they're immediately met with the agility people with guns.
I'm not on survival difficulty, so I'd rather get the intruders dealt with ASAP, because the longer you have intruders, the more resources you lose.
